The next picture shows several bodies with similar death conditions floating down the river in a small boat. They were discovered a few days later.
"This is Haru's man."
At this point, Shengda spoke up: "As for whether you have encountered such a problem, I think you know it."
Ji Ou knocked on the table: "It's obvious that everyone has been targeted."
Ouyang heard a strange sound in her ears. It must be something she had dropped, irritating her ears. She subconsciously tilted her head. Several people looked at her, and she was waiting for Dongya to finish. "A few days ago, some homeless people lost contact. As for whether it is the same as their subordinates, we don't know yet."
Tao Wen said: "Disappearance is a common thing, not to mention that not everything we do can be seen in the open."
"Of course you can say that," Shengda said dissatisfiedly, "People who only know how to hide and do things secretly should not go out. If they don't go out, no one will find them."
After Dong Ya's intentions were made clear, Ouyang began to speak: "I'm sure no one wants to see something like this happen. Since someone has already attacked us and attracted everyone's attention, we will naturally not stand idly by."
Tao Wen didn't say anything, just sat aside, crossed his legs, and looked at everyone.
Ji Ou stood up and said, "I think no one trusts anyone else. There's no need to talk any further." He looked like he was going to get up and leave.
Tao Wen followed him out, leaving the three of them alone. It was obvious that Tang He was the most anxious. He faced far more pressure than anyone else present. Especially those reporters looking for trouble, who had already grown tired of him.
Shengda stood up and asked Ouyang: "I think your partner won't be able to finish for a while, do you mind if I take you back?"
She just glanced at him briefly and glided past him like a feather: "No, I can drive myself."
She got in the car, took off her headphones, and saw two black cars in the rearview mirror. She smiled and drove away quickly. She got rid of the people following her on an overpass, returned to her apartment, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.
The next day, she was woken by the phone under her pillow. The buzzing ringtone made her really impatient: "Hello?"
"Ouyang Zishan?" A boy's voice came. Yes, it was a boy, the kind whose voice hadn't changed yet. "Do you have time? I'd like to have a cup of coffee with you."
She looked at the time. It was eight o'clock in the morning. If the person opposite her was really a boy, he should still be in school. "How did you know my phone number?"
"I found it on my dad's phone."
"Your father?"
"My father is Mu Zi'an."
Mu Zi'an? This familiar name suddenly hit her mind. The other party was Mu Zi'an's son. Did that mean he was nominally her younger brother?
"Just send me the address."
Ouyang thought of many reasons why he was looking for her, but she never thought that he was looking for her because he ran away from home. When she saw the boy carrying a suitcase at the door of the coffee shop, she had a bad feeling.
A man and a woman, one big and one small, sat facing each other. Ouyang looked at him, and he looked at Ouyang. Neither of them spoke first.
"What can I do for you two?"
"Two cups of coffee." Ouyang said.
"Okay, please wait."
Apart from his lively eyes, Ouyang felt that he looked almost identical to his uncle. "What's your name?"
"Mu Jiang."
"How old are you?"
"15."
"First year of high school?"
"Yeah." He nodded.
"What do you want from me?"
“My mom and dad are divorced,” he said, “and I don’t want to live with my grandpa.”
Ouyang looked at him. Mu Zi'an was in jail now, and she thought he couldn't take care of the child. She wondered if he wanted to live with her. It didn't matter what she thought, she even said, "Do you want to live with me?"
The other person's eyes lit up, and the dreamer nodded: "I can't think of anyone who can help me now, except you, Sister Ouyang."
The words "Sister Ouyang" gave her goosebumps. Who could easily accept a younger brother suddenly appearing out of nowhere?
"Well, I think it's inconvenient for you to live in my place. I'll find you a place that suits you." Ouyang took out his cell phone and wanted to call Siheyuan.
"Do you want me to live in a courtyard?" Mu Jiang said with a straight face. "First of all, I'm not going there." He had been to that place with his father when he was young, and he also knew some stories about Mu Zishan and Ouyang Zishan from his father, especially their relationship with the man named Zhuo Qiang. "I don't want to see Zhuo Qiang."
Ouyang looked at him and was surprised by how much he knew. He had no choice but to take him back to the courtyard. After he rested for the whole afternoon, the sky gradually darkened. Ouyang asked him to sit in the living room and started talking to him.
"You can live here," she emphasized. "You still have to go to school. As for the rest, do you have anything to say?"
"I know," he said, acting like a grown-up. "I won't bother you again until I get into college."
Seeing that he was also sensible, Ouyang smiled and said, "Do you need me to help you explain what's going on at school?" After all, he had skipped school for the whole day.
"Need not."
"Where's your grandfather?"
"I called him," he looked at Ouyang, "and told him I was with you."
"Okay then," she decided to make dinner first before considering the details of living with him. "What would you like to eat tonight?"
