"Ouyang," he always called her by her name directly from then on, "You should have brought some gifts up earlier?" The children looked inside curiously, holding all kinds of shells in their hands.
She didn't expect there would be so many children: "I'll ask Dongya to send some." But the signal here really made her feel embarrassed. If she wanted to send a message, she had to go far away.
After everyone's excitement had mostly died down, the house became much quieter. Ouyang and Mu Jiang were assigned to the same room, with bunk beds.
"The conditions here are a bit poor, so you'll have to make do for now." This was the voice of the hostess, a hardworking woman who had raised two children, a boy and a girl. Their father was out fishing and was usually not at home.
"Ouyang!" Mu Jiang's dissatisfaction was immediately revealed after the hostess left. "What is this? How can we live here? And we came here without bringing anything. How are we going to live?"
Ouyang stood there, and Dongya deliberately told her on the phone not to bring anything, especially electronic products. But she didn't expect the conditions here were really not that good.
Seeing that Ouyang didn't seem to want to sit down, Mu Jiang suddenly smiled and said, "You're not trying to trick me on purpose, are you?"
"How should I know?"
"Your friend is the same. Why did he choose this place? Is he deliberately trying to mess with me or you?"
Ouyang prepared to go out.
Mu Jiang continued, "Ouyang, do you want to leave too?" He stared at her and said, "Let me tell you first, if I'm alone here, I won't do it."
She turned back and said, "To be honest, I just want you to stay here alone for a few months."
Mu Jiang looked at her and said, "If you leave, I can't guarantee what I will do next."
It was obvious that he was threatening her.
"Okay, I won't leave." She checked the time and put down her bag. "I'll go take a look outside."
The host's son is the same age as Mu Jiang, and his daughter is younger. Both of them are very capable and are busy doing housework when they get home.
Mu Jiang walked behind Ouyang and said, "If you want to live here, you have to give them some money."
She thought so too. Just when she was about to go back to her room to get her wallet, Mu Jiang opened his hand, revealing a stack of cash: "It's ready for you."
"You touched my bag?"
"Is there anything else in your bag besides money?" Mu Jiang smiled and pushed her into the kitchen.
