Chapter 118 Courage

The people of Ludao live a very regular life, and it is rare to see people playing around on the island during the day. Of course, outsiders like Ouyang are not included.

What gave Ouyang a headache was that Mu Jiang drafted a detailed Ludao life contract overnight.

First, Ouyang must not leave Ludao alone for any reason.

Second, during the time Ouyang was studying in Mujiang, he had to go to the sea to help according to the daily tasks assigned by the host family, including taking on household chores.

Third, Ouyang Bubu restricted Mu Jiang’s activities on the island.

She never had many options for dealing with children. She walked around the village for a long time before finally finding a spot with a good signal. She stood there motionless and began dialing.

"Dongya," Ouyang began, "Did you see the message I sent you? Please have someone deliver the things as soon as possible."

"I see," Dongya asked worriedly on the other end of the phone, "Are you okay? Are you going to stay on the island?"

"Let's talk about it after a while," Ouyang saw the ship approaching in the distance and thought for a while, "I will go back when Mujiang has changed." He hung up the phone and returned along the same route.

The roads on the island were well-maintained, and walking back and forth wasn't strenuous. Taking advantage of this free time, Ouyang lay on the beach, letting the sea breeze blow on him, and fell asleep unknowingly.

"Ouyang? Ouyang?"

She was awakened from her sleep by the noise around her. She opened her eyes and saw the magnified Mu Jiang. She stood up and looked behind him. There were many children laughing at something.

"School's over so soon?"

"Ah," Mu Jiang grabbed the crab hanging motionless in her hair and smiled, "How long have you been lying here?"

Ouyang stood up, looked at the sea water that had spread to her feet, patted the sand off her body and said, "Not long."

The children all came over curiously, and Mu Jiang, who had been missing for a day, seemed to have become the boss among them. He shouted, "Go play somewhere else!" and scared them all away to the beach. Only the two children of the host family were left. However, they seemed to have become loyal fans of Mu Jiang and kept following him.

I remember last night, Ouyang and Mujiang got into a discussion about the names of the two siblings. Their father, a simple fisherman, simply named his eldest son Dahai and his youngest daughter Xiaohai. Ouyang said this reflected their father's love for the sea, while Mujiang thought it was because their father lived at sea every day and couldn't think of any other word besides "sea," which led him to choose these names so casually.

Regardless, Dahai and Xiaohai were both very capable children, able to pick up two large sea fish with their bare hands. Ouyang saw this in a photo, and she guessed it was a souvenir taken by a passing reporter.

"Sister Ouyang!" Dahai spoke to her for the first time. "It's not good for you to lie on the beach like this. There are all kinds of things in the sand."

"Yes." Xiao Hai also said.

Ouyang smiled and said, "I'm not afraid!" He looked at them with some pride, "These little things can't do anything to me."

Mu Jiang pouted and walked forward: "Let's go. Don't embarrass yourself here anymore, okay?" He didn't want the people on the island to think that they were abnormal because of Ouyang's behavior.

When the four of them came to an abandoned house, Mu Jiang was attracted by a car covered by plastic film. He first removed the cover outside and tried to open the car door, but it was locked. He climbed onto the roof, opened the sunroof easily, and jumped into the car.

Dahai also climbed in. Only Xiaohai stood obediently beside Ouyang, muttering, "This is an abandoned truck by the villagers. No one has taken care of it. I heard that the previous owner came from a big city and left it here after leaving."

Ouyang looked at the truck in front of him, imagining what it looked like before the wind and rain.

"No key!" Mu Jiang inside kicked open the car door in disappointment and jumped out, but he had already formed a plan in his head.

Heavy rain followed and said, "The key should be in the house!" He pointed to the weed-covered house.

Mu Jiang immediately jumped in through a window and searched for a long time but found nothing. Dahai also became interested and followed him in, but he also found nothing.

Ouyang walked around the car, looking at the scratches on the driver's seat. The previous owner must have been left-handed and a heavy drinker. She got in and looked around. There were no keys around, but she saw something moldy and unclear in the bottle. It seemed the owner had a quirk: "Look for a wine jug in the house, or something to hold wine."

Mu Jiang heard what Ouyang said and glanced at the sea: "What are you still standing there for? Find the wine jug!"

Xiao Hai also climbed into the car curiously. Unlike boys, she liked to sit in the safer back seat and looked around. She also wanted to find the car keys.

"Here!" Mu Jiang smashed a large wine jug and saw the car keys lying among the fragments. He picked them up excitedly, then jumped through the window and into the car.

He excitedly inserted the car key, but no matter how he turned it, the car didn't respond.

"Don't bother," Ouyang said, "This car needs repairing."

Mu Jiang looked at her. After all, she was a car owner and should know a little about cars: "You go and fix it."

Ouyang raised an eyebrow. This guy was actually giving her orders. She jumped out of the car and said, "It's getting dark. Let's go back first."

On the way back, Dahai and Mujiang were "plotting" something in front, and Xiaohai followed Ouyang. She was a well-behaved girl and knew how to leave space for her brothers to talk.
