This was her first time entering Sheng Group. Of course, they were obviously not allowed to enter the office area and could only wait on the sofa in the lobby.
A few hours passed and it was time to get off work. Everyone was in a hurry, as if they had an important appointment waiting for them.
When Shengda came down, they hadn't run into the person they were looking for yet. He approached slowly, assuming she was there for something about last night's events. "Miss Ouyang, if you don't mind, I'd like to treat you to a meal as an apology for what happened yesterday." His words sounded quite sincere, but Ouyang wasn't interested at all.
Dongya stood aside, found a photo of a man, and showed it to Shengda: "Is this person from your company?"
The secretary next to Sheng Da also took a look and nodded: "Mr. Sheng, this person is from the sales department." The secretary then asked, "What do you want to see him about?"
Ouyang glanced at Shengda's beautiful secretary. She seemed a little dissatisfied with him. Perhaps it was because of today's news that made the woman angry.
While they were talking, the person they were looking for came out of the elevator behind Shengda and the others. The first person to notice him was Dongya, who ran up.
Ouyang followed behind him and first observed this well-dressed man. He had a broad forehead and his outstretched hand was very clean. He did not look like someone who would take someone's life.
Dongya told him that Amei was dead, and he was not surprised at all: "I called her last night, but couldn't reach her." He felt a little guilty.
Ouyang stepped forward and asked: "When did you meet?"
"Yesterday morning," he said, "a breakfast shop." He thought for a moment, "Who are you?" He remembered the photo that was circulated throughout the company this morning, "Mr. Sheng!" He saw Sheng Da walking up to them.
Sheng Da looked at them curiously: "I thought you came to Sheng Group because of me, but it turns out you came here to investigate a case?"
Ouyang ignored him: "Did she wear earrings when we met?"
The other person thought for a moment and said, "I don't remember clearly." He never cared about her appearance, "but she would definitely have different outfits when she went out." It was obvious that this person did not love Ah Mei, at least he did not care whether she made any changes for him.
Feeling like I couldn't get anything out of him, I asked, "Could you tell me the meeting address, please?"
Dongya took note and let him go.
The secretary next to Shengda was a little unhappy again: "Who are you?" She felt that Shengda was very patient with her, which was something she had never seen in the company.
Dong Ya said, "Mr. Sheng, thank you." He walked out to do his business.
Ouyang stood opposite them, looked at the arrogant secretary and smiled. Maybe she was more than just a secretary: "Shengda, what happened yesterday is in the past. I don't think we need to have a conflict over today's incident." She looked around and saw many people looking at them. "As for what happened just now, let's just assume that we owe each other nothing." If it weren't for the relationship between Sheng Group and her grandfather, she would not have waited here quietly for several hours.
Sheng Da asked his secretary to go aside and stood opposite her. This woman really disguised herself very well. If he hadn't witnessed her bad temper yesterday, he might really think that what she said now was from the heart: "I helped you yesterday and got slapped in the face. I also helped you today, how can it be written off?"
Ouyang looked at him, his reasonable demeanor making her feel uncomfortable. However, she mentioned what happened yesterday, which made her feel more cautious. After all, her grandfather didn't know that what happened yesterday was her plan. This man was just being used by her, and his behavior was just a mistake on her part. "What do you want?"
"I'll go back to the Zhuo family tonight to apologize," Shengda said, "I hope to see you there."
"I just want to go back and have a meal." She turned and left.
He was arranged by his parents to bring a large gift to the Zhuo family to apologize. However, he did not expect to meet Ouyang at this time and drag her into the water.
Dong Ya continued to investigate, his goal was to find the missing earrings. She drove to the supermarket first, bought some fruit, and then went directly to Zhuo's house.
"Grandpa, Grandma," she saw the two elderly people sitting in the hall, "I came to see you."
Grandma came over from the sofa and enthusiastically pulled her to sit on the sofa: "Your grandfather and I were just talking about you, I didn't expect you to actually come."
"Did you hear any rumors?" Grandpa already knew Ouyang's temper, and Shengda would be here soon, so she was probably here for that man.
Ouyang curled his lips, took his grandmother's hand, and leaned on her shoulder: "What will we eat later?"
"Little greedy cat," Grandma doted on her, and then said to the aunt standing beside her, "Ask the kitchen to make some cakes with the roses in the yard."
"OK."
It was seven o'clock in the evening, just as it was getting dark, when the sound of a car stopping outside was heard.
Auntie went to open the door and let Shengda in.
As for why Shengda wanted Ouyang to go to Grandpa's house, she knew it. Grandpa had never thought highly of Shengda, believing his business practices to be too inhumane, which meant that his behavior was not recognized by the Zhuo family. In contrast, Shengda's brother was a scholar worthy of Grandpa's trust, which made them look down on Shengda even more.
As expected, Shengda was thinking about something as soon as he entered the room. He looked around at the calligraphy and paintings hanging on the wall and said, "Mr. Zhuo, this is a little gift from me."
