Chapter 133: On Fire

"You really are!" Xia Yue quickly went back to drive.

"Who have I offended? Why is everyone angry towards me?"

Xia Yue drove and quickly caught up with Ouyang: "Ouyang, get in the car, I'll take you home." He stopped the car and put all her luggage in the trunk.

"Just drop it off at the nearby train station."

"Okay, got it." Xia Yue didn't say much and drove directly towards the train station.

"I'll have to trouble you guys with my godmother and godfather." As they got out of the car, Ouyang instructed, "I always disappoint them."

"This has nothing to do with you," Xia Yue said. "In fact, you might think it's a good thing to do this. It's good for everyone. You deserve the best."

It was the first time she had heard such words. He was selfless, so selfless that she couldn't bear to hurt him: "You deserve better."

He didn't answer, but asked her to get in quickly because he had to go back to take care of the restless horses.

Ouyang hugged him, and she wanted to thank him for his broad mind.

Xia Yue watched him go in, then returned to the car. He was the kind of person who would never let Ouyang see him in such a mess, and he didn't want to leave any bad impression on her. He drove to an alley, a place he often went to, just to find a place to forget these unpleasant things. He didn't go back at night. He didn't even go to see his parents and brother off the next day. Only Mu Jiang didn't leave. He was waiting, waiting for Xia Yue to come back.

At noon the next day, Xia Yue returned home drunk and was stopped by Mu Jiang: "Didn't you go to find Ouyang? Why did she leave?"

"Let's go!" He pushed Mu Jiang away. There was no vitality or courage left, only a soft body.

"Why are you like this?" Mu Jiang looked at him in surprise, "She's just a woman, isn't she? Would she torture you like this? Even so, you shouldn't fall into depravity alone. You should let your family see it, and let Ouyang see it. What's the point of doing this now?" Although he said so, Mu Jiang still did not leave and stayed here until the start of the new semester.

Soon, Ouyang returned to the basement. It was already late at night, but the lights in the surrounding houses were still on. This place was really different from the countryside. In the countryside, at eight or nine in the evening, few lights were on.

She slept soundly for a long time, hiding herself from the next day. Hunger woke her up, and she woke up to find it was three o'clock in the morning. Her head felt heavy, so she ate some noodles and went back to bed.

Around five in the morning, a piercing sound reached her eardrums, causing her to open her eyes. A foul odor reached her nose. She instinctively sensed a fire somewhere. She tried to get up and run, but her legs wouldn't obey her, and she fell to the floor. She was sick; a virus had consumed all the sugar in her body, leaving her with no strength.

"Damn it!" She cursed herself. How could she be trapped in this small house? Wait until the fire burns her into ugly charcoal!

Time ticked by, and breathing in the smoke made it difficult for her to continue. Suddenly, something fell, a thud piercing her ears. With her last remaining strength, she opened her eyes. She saw a young firefighter, who used his body to block the falling ceiling. "There's someone here, there's someone here." His voice was so beautiful, as if it floated down from the sky. She reached out to grab something, but her hand was grasped by the reaper of death, and she couldn't lift it.

The man waited until everything around him had fallen, then he picked her up. She remembered how light she was, very light, as light as a weightless feather. So he ran so fast, so fast that her soul couldn't keep up with his pace.

Before getting on the ambulance, she saw him fall down and fall on her. Later, she left, believing that there would be another ambulance prepared for him, and he would lie in the car like herself and be taken to a place where his body could be saved.

"What?" Zhuo Qiang met his parents at the courtyard. "Mom and Dad, don't worry. I'll go to the hospital first."

When Ouyang was brought here, she was spotted by the dean who had come to check on the work. The dean recognized Ouyang. He had seen her at a dance party with someone from the Zhuo family, so he called Mr. Zhuo and asked, "Mr. Zhuo, do you have a granddaughter?"

The grandfather who received the call was a little confused about what was going on: "Are you talking about Ouyang Zishan?"

"She's the girl who attended the dance with you last time. Didn't you say she was your granddaughter?" the dean explained.

"Yes," Grandpa said, "She is my granddaughter. What can I do for you?"

"It's like this," the dean said, "There was a fire where she lives, and she's currently in the hospital receiving emergency treatment."

"What?" Grandpa's heart was not good and he could not bear such a shock. "You must save her. You must save her together at all costs."

"Don't worry, Mr. Zhuo, we will." The dean hung up the phone and went to the operating room in person.

The nurse followed the director and said, "The hospital has sent so many people here that the operating room is overwhelmed."

"I will personally perform the surgery," the dean said. "This person must be saved first."

"But she is in a coma now, and the films haven't come out yet." The nurse was a little embarrassed.

"Is the hospital's efficiency so low now? Do you know who's behind her?" The dean paused. "As the hospital's top director, if we can't even save her, do you think our hospital can still operate?"
