The next evening, she was able to walk, so she took the elevator to the second floor and searched each ward, hoping to find that familiar face.
"Miss, what are you doing here?" A nurse who knew her stopped her from going any further. "You should be staying in the ward."
"I'm looking for someone!" Ouyang leaned against the wall. She had just walked too fast, and her heart couldn't bear it. "Can you help me ask which wards the firefighters who came to the hospital are in?"
"Okay, I'll take you there!" Seeing how persistent she was, the nurse found a wheelchair for her and pushed her to the ward.
"This is the last one," said the nurse behind Ouyang. "This firefighter was the most seriously injured, and I heard he saved the most people."
“Knock knock!”
"Come in!" A young man was staring at the IV drip on his head, perhaps because he thought it was moving too slowly.
The nurse pushed Ouyang in, and the man recognized her: "Are you awake?"
"Do you know her?" the nurse asked.
"Oh." The man hesitated, but nodded.
Ouyang's memory of him was vague, but his face had merged with the incomplete and imperfect face in his memory to form a very complete image.
"You saved me?" Ouyang asked.
Seeing that Ouyang had found the person he was looking for, the nurse left, leaving them some space.
He didn't say anything, just looked at her. No one had discovered the basement at the time. Only when he heard the sound of electrical explosions inside was he certain that someone lived there. So he broke in, searched all the rooms, and found her lying on the ground.
Ouyang saw the name posted on the wall: "Long Yixing, 22 years old." A firefighter who could not be any younger.
"Thank you for saving me." Ouyang stood up and walked over slowly.
Her proximity made the other person feel uncomfortable: "It's my duty to just you. You don't need to thank me too much."
She still looked at him like that, but no one noticed her, only he noticed her. She didn't know why, but she was attracted by those bright eyes, as if there was a kind of magic, the person in front of her was really different from others.
"Can you not get so close to me?" He had already leaned back a little, trying to keep a certain distance from her.
She remembered that he was injured for her, so she reached out and looked at his back, and sure enough, there was a large area of burns.
"Hey!" Her actions really scared him, "You, can you please get out!"
Ouyang looked at his frightened face and smiled slightly: "Ouyang Zishan, my name."
Later, in the hospital, Ouyang came down almost every day, but he always stayed away from her, either going to the next room to find a colleague, or going to the flowerbed downstairs to play with the children.
And she didn't disturb him, but just stayed by his side and watched how he dealt with the relationships with the people around him.
A week later, Long Yixing was discharged from the hospital, but she still had to stay in the hospital for some time.
Once, Zhuo Qiang went to the hospital from the company to see her, but found that there was no trace of her in the ward. Only then did he learn some things about her and Long Yihang from the nurse.
"Do you think Miss Ouyang might have fallen in love with that firefighter? She used to go to the ward on the second floor every day."
"I think this is called love at first sight," said another younger nurse. "He saved Miss Ouyang, so Miss Ouyang fell in love with him."
"How could she fall in love with a poor boy who has nothing?" said another older nurse. "She is the granddaughter of the Zhuo family, and she also has a share of the Zhuo family's wealth."
"That's right. Look how much the Zhuo family cares about her. Maybe in the future all the Zhuo family's property will be hers, and this hospital will be hers too."
"Ahem!" Zhuo Qiang walked up to them. "Where's Ouyang?"
The nurses saw that it was Zhuo Qiang: "Boss Zhuo!"
"It seems she went to the fire station!"
"She was asking for the address of the fire department last night."
Zhuo Qiang drove away and returned to the company. He asked his secretary to find all the information about Long Yihang. After all these years, Ouyang had never been so concerned about that man.
“Ding ding ding!”
Long Yihang and his colleagues, who had just finished their shift, came out and saw Ouyang's car parked at their door. They quickly ran up and asked, "Don't you know you can't park here casually?"
"I just arrived," Ouyang said, indicating that he had no intention of hindering them. "Get in the car, I'll take you home."
"Oh oh oh!" Long Yixing's colleagues began to make a noise. They all knew that since Long Yixing rescued the girl, the girl had appeared in front of Long Yixing almost every day.
These past few days, Ouyang had been constantly appearing before Shanglong and his group, delivering various lunch boxes. He even followed them closely during missions, earning him several criticisms from his superiors: "Dating your girlfriend should be after work, so why do you have to do this during working hours? If something happens, who's responsible?" Indeed, the superiors' criticisms were justified. Last time, Ouyang had accompanied them on a mission, and someone was about to commit suicide by jumping off a building. She had a loudspeaker and was downstairs, arguing with the person. The person was then told they were truly heartbroken, and instead of killing themselves, they were admitted to a mental hospital.
"I'm really scared of you." Long Yixing got in the car and directed her home.
The secretary quickly gathered all the information on Long Yixing and placed it on Zhuo Qiang's desk. Zhuo Qiang flipped through the pages: Long Yixing, 22 years old, graduated from military academy and later joined the fire department with honors. His father was also an excellent firefighter. His mother died when he was very young. He now lives with his younger sister, who is a freshman in high school. Their family's situation isn't very good.
