Chapter 134: Looking for Someone

When they got downstairs to Long Yixing's building, he said, "Your injury hasn't healed yet, right? Don't run around outside anymore."

He was serious, but Ouyang didn't care: "Aren't you going to invite me up to sit down?"

Long Yixing hesitated. He knew the relationship between Ouyang and the Zhuo family. With her current situation, even without working, she could still have a good life. But he was different. He had to support himself and his sister, so he didn't have much time to play with her.

"If you really want to thank me for saving you, please don't come to me in the future." He said decisively.

This reminded Ouyang of what she had said to Jin Lu. She had never expected that she would have to face such a thing now. After she saw him go upstairs, she drove away.

Long Yixing's sister, Long Yinuan, was standing on the balcony. Seeing her brother getting out of a luxury car, she asked curiously, "Brother, who was the person who sent you back? Was it a man or a woman?"

Long Yixing glanced at her and asked, "Have you done your homework?"

"I did!" Long Yinuan kept pestering him, "But I just want to know, she is your friend?"

"Not a friend," Long Yixing said, "a stranger."

"A stranger? A stranger brought you back so early in the morning?" Long Yinuan chuckled. "Tell me, what did you do last night?"

"On duty in the team."

Long Yinuan was a little disappointed: "On duty?"

Long Yixing patted her head and said, "What's the point of thinking about these things all day if you don't use it to study?"

Ouyang returned to the hospital and felt that her behavior might have really caused trouble for the other party, so she decided not to look for him like that anymore and would stay in the hospital to recover from her injuries first.

One day, two days, three days passed... Ouyang didn't show up next to Long Yixing. His colleagues around him started joking: "See, you scared the girl away and made her your wife."

"What are you talking about?" Long Yixing sat in his chair, tapping his pen. He was secretly happy that she hadn't come to the fire station again, but at the same time, he was also a little disappointed. He wondered if what he said last time was too serious, and it had burdened her, so she never came to see him again.

Ouyang was discharged from the hospital soon and moved back into his apartment.

After the Spring Festival, she received more and more emails, most of which urged her to intervene and resolve the issues between Tang He and Sheng Da. They were now using their power to exploit and attack each other, especially those members of the disbanded organizations, trying to obtain all the resources they had.

This reminded Ouyang of the fire in the basement. Why had it started so violently for no apparent reason? Someone must have been behind it. Who was that person? Tang He or Sheng Da? She didn't know.

As soon as she was discharged from the hospital, Zhuo Qiang came here to see her. He also brought her some news: "In a few days, the government will hold a bidding meeting. You should accompany me."

"What should I do there?" Ouyang refused him.

"The plot of land is the basement where you once lived."

Ouyang looked at him. How could Zhuo Qiang know what she was thinking? However, Zhuo Qiang rarely did things that had no benefit to him. This time, she asked her to help. Perhaps the land was still important to him.

"Go!" She leaned back on the sofa, "But you have to do something for me first!"

"you say!"

"Stop investigating Long and his group." Ouyang said.

Zhuo Qiang looked at her: "Did the secretary tell you?"

"She doesn't need to tell me," Ouyang said, "don't forget what I do?"

Seeing her say this, Zhuo Qiang stopped interfering: "Okay, but you have to tell me, are you serious about him?"

"Uncle Zhuo, you know he saved me."

"Okay," Zhuo Qiang said, fearing she might risk her life. "I hope you understand what you're talking about."

"Very clear."

On the day of the bidding, Tang He and Sheng Da also showed up. When they saw Ouyang, they acted insincerely, which made Ouyang feel really uncomfortable.

She'd been doing a lot of research recently. The government wanted to bid for this piece of land, partly to change the city's layout and partly to attract more high-tech companies. This would give the Zhuo Group, which has always focused on software development, an advantage.

But Tang He must have communicated with some senior executives, and Shengda Industry is headed by real estate, so he also has certain advantages.

"The bidding begins."

The competition is indeed fierce. In addition to Zhuo's, Tanghe, and Shengda, there are many companies, big and small, who want to get a piece of the pie.

Ouyang looked at the time. It was 10:20. Tang He and Sheng Da received calls at the same time. After answering, they left one after another. At the same time, they set their sights on Ouyang.

In the end, Zhuo Qiang won the bid with the best price. He then invited Ouyang to dinner, where he couldn't help but ask, "Did Tang He and Sheng Da leave like this in the end?"

"Uncle Zhuo really wants to know?"

"Haha," Zhuo Qiang said with a smile, "Just think of it as a story you've heard. But it's okay if you don't want to tell it."

"The last explosion and fire were caused by Shengda, and Tang He told the government officials about it. Even if Shengda won the bid with the highest price, they wouldn't give him the project. And Shengda has Tang He's leverage over them. Since they can't get the project themselves, they certainly don't want their competitors to get it. Instead of that, it's better to give this project to Uncle Zhuo. Then, maybe they'll have a chance to work with you."

"They were so confident," Zhuo Qiang said, "that they thought I would cooperate with them."

"Yes!" Ouyang replied, "Their people will come to find Uncle Zhuo soon, and Uncle Zhuo can't refuse."
