Mu Jiang continued to play with his phone and tapped Long Yi Nuan: "I asked you to talk so much."
"In that case, I'll be the only one to come and support you tonight."
"Can you be taken away?" Mu Jiang asked.
"What? You want to escape?" She knew that the girl was not so easy to deal with, and besides, he should be able to do such a thing.
"You're really a worm in my stomach," Mu Jiang said as he walked out with his backpack. "Let's go!"
"Wait a minute!" Long Yinuan followed.
Long Yixing shook his head: "What a funny guy."
"It's better to let him toss around a bit, so that he won't have too much energy and nowhere to use it."
"You always have your reasons." Long Yihang finished his last bite and went to work.
Ouyang first went to the courtyard, where he met Zhuo Qiang and told him about Tang He and Sheng Da's recent situation. Then he went to the detective agency. Just as he arrived downstairs, Ji Oubian came out and asked, "Ouyang?"
"Looks like you're running things pretty well here?"
Ji Ou was reluctant to tell her about the agency's affairs, so he took her to the coffee shop and gave her a difficult case there: "I think no one is more suitable for it than you!"
Ouyang looked through it carefully and put it back on the table: "What benefits can I get from solving this case?"
"Haven't you always wanted to know how Dongya died? I'll tell you the truth."
She stared at him with wide eyes. Would a murderer speak like that? She was convinced he wouldn't. So what was the truth? Was there something else behind Dongya's death? Or was he just using her to solve the case? What was his purpose?
"Okay! It's a deal." Although she had many doubts, she was willing to do it in exchange.
The case he assigned was a bit of a challenge. The man's body had been submerged in the river for about a week, leaving it completely unrecognizable. Details and clues were also largely obliterated, leaving the investigation largely to his family and social connections. But the deceased grew up in a complex social environment, embroiled in both white and black communities. As for his family, they were all aging or deceased, leaving only a blind father who ran a massage parlor on his own.
That evening, she changed into a formal outfit, bought two bouquets, and appeared in the school auditorium. Long Yinuan was scheduled to perform the second program, the chorus. Mu Jiang was scheduled to perform the penultimate program, the classic stage play, Romeo and Juliet.
Time passed little by little, and when the two children came out after the curtain call, she appeared in front of them with a bouquet of flowers: "It was wonderful!"
The girl behind Mu Jiang came over, obviously unhappy: "Why didn't you act according to the script?"
Ouyang looked at her. It was a familiar face, but with a touch of impoliteness.
"Then it didn't go according to the script?"
"Romeo should have kissed Juliet, but you?"
"Didn't I ask? Who saw me without kissing?"
The girl was very angry. She glanced at Long Yinuan and then walked through her, almost throwing her to the ground. Fortunately, Mu Jiang grabbed her arm and said, "Can't you keep your eyes open when you walk?"
Ouyang turned around, and perhaps at that moment, Long Yinuan treated Mu Jiang differently.
Driving back, Mu Jiang explained to Ouyang how he deceived the audience and successfully achieved the stage effect.
Ouyang expressed his support: "You are right to do this. You can achieve your goal while selling your soul."
"This has nothing to do with the soul. It's a man's dignity."
"Whatever you say," Ouyang checked her watch and quickened her pace. She didn't want to catch up with Long and his group. If she did, the three of them would have to listen to his nagging again.
Just in time, before Long and his group returned home, the three of them returned to their rooms.
Long and his group pushed the door open and entered: "Was their performance successful?"
"Of course it was successful." Ouyang took his computer and went to the study.
"What are you doing in the study so late?"
"Work!"
"Work?" This made Long Yixing feel helpless, because her work really had no restrictions on time and place. As long as she wanted, her brain could keep working even when she was with him.
Winter jasmine flowers bloomed in the corner of the yard without anyone noticing. Long Yinuan followed Mu Jiang to school. Long Yixing followed behind, remembering that Ouyang had stayed in her study all night and felt a little worried. He could only wait until she came back that night to ask her what had happened.
The sun shone on Ouyang as she lay on the sofa in the study. She stretched, yawned, and dragged herself back to her room. After changing her clothes and having breakfast downstairs, she admired the early spring flowers in the yard.
Ji Ou came to the apartment where the deceased had lived. There were three people living in the small room. Their jobs were different. Two of them were a gatekeeper and a supermarket staff member. They both seemed to be alcoholics.
She also went to the morgue, but because the body was so badly decomposed, no one was willing to perform an autopsy.
"Push him to the autopsy room." Ouyang said. The old man in the morgue glanced at her. There was no woman here who came quickly, let alone facing such a disgusting corpse.
The old man's movements were very slow, as if he had never known how to write the word "hurry". After the body was pushed into the autopsy room, the old man took out a set of work clothes from a shabby cabinet. There were stains of someone's blood on them.
Ouyang took it, put it on swiftly, and began to examine every part of the body. Now alone, with no one to record, she could only memorize everything. The old man stood by, smoking. This was one of the most disgusting bodies he had ever seen. Most people would not touch such a body, but he was not afraid. He had handled disgusting things before, let alone these people who were unable to move. He watched as Ouyang examined the body piece by piece, placing small fragments into a tube filled with a solution of formaldehyde and alcohol.
