"So that's why you plan to go back early?"
He sat back down again: "What will happen if I don't go back?"
Mu Jiang sat next to him. On the surface, he was an arrogant boy who looked down on everyone, but in fact he was so fragile that he could not withstand any emotional impact.
"Then you should know the truth!" Ouyang said, "Come with me." She couldn't believe that his friend would really treat their friendship like this. There must be some secret.
The two of them arrived at the supermarket entrance. The boy was still sorting the new goods as usual. With other helpers in the supermarket, he was not so busy.
Across from the supermarket was a restaurant. Ouyang asked Mu Jiang to go down and wait for her next door. Then she walked into the supermarket alone, said a few words to Mu Jiang's friend, and pointed at Mu Jiang sitting in the restaurant. "I want to apologize to you for what happened yesterday," his friend said, standing next to Mu Jiang. "Actually, those people came to our house to ask for money. We have been in arrears with their money for a long time. I didn't want you to see it."
"Is that really the case?"
"That's right," my friend continued. "I heard from your sister that you're going to build a primary school in the countryside. Can I come and see it then?"
"sure."
The two chatted for a long time until Mu Jiang had to go to the airport. They reluctantly said goodbye.
On the way to the airport, Mu Jiang asked her how she convinced his friend.
"Just say you have a terminal illness and are dying," Ouyang said with a wicked smile. "You're currently receiving treatment down there, so you want to build a school in the countryside to find some spiritual comfort."
"Do I look like a sick person?"
"How could it be like that? A guy who didn't sleep all night."
Later, however, Mu Jiang and his friend didn't continue their previous relationship, and they gradually drifted apart. Mu Jiang didn't feel any regrets, because he had learned a lesson: friends aren't meant to be companions; you should let go and let them do what they want. Perhaps he learned this lesson from Ouyang, but he would never admit it, because Ouyang would always be his competition.
