He is like a fish that never stops swimming. No matter how the outside world changes, he is willing to do what he wants to do.
"I can promise you that as long as you get into a university that you like and that you are willing to go to, I will satisfy you in everything else."
Mu Jiang's eyes lit up: "But if you build a school, you won't make a penny."
"I didn't even think of asking you to make money for me," Ouyang tapped his head. "Isn't it clear what you were thinking? Building a school is the idea you came up with?"
"Hehe!" Mu Jiang smiled. "I admit, it wasn't me who came up with it, it was Brother Xia Yue. I think he already drew up the school's design, he just needs a lot of money. You know, farms, tourism services, art, those things can only make a little money. He also built some nursing homes, but now he has no money."
"Okay!"
She originally wanted to invite Xiao Nuan to dinner together, but was rejected by Mu Jiang.
"She's too clingy. I'd better not mess with her."
Ouyang smiled and said, "Are you afraid of someone too?"
"If she wasn't your Long Yixing's sister, I would have told her straight out long ago. I would have made her embarrassed to see me. Look at me now, I've become the one who dares not to see her."
"It seems that I am still hindering you?" His confidence is indeed no less than his own.
"Let's not talk about each other anymore. I don't plan to ask about you and Brother Xia Yue anymore, so you'd better not get involved in my affairs."
In Mu Jiang's heart, he constantly compared himself to Ouyang. Her pride made her never take those around her seriously. He wanted to be like her, too. Whether it was family, friendship, or love, he wanted to be better than her. His goal was to surpass her, forever. Whether it was in money? Power? Or something else, he didn't know yet.
"Well," Ouyang said, "we'll buy some groceries and cook them as usual!"
The two of them reached a consensus and decided to each cook two of their signature dishes and then compete to see who was better.
At noon, they had three dishes and a soup, and they were very happy. Mu Jiang's cooking skills had been greatly improved in the countryside, and his dishes were indeed much better than Ouyang's.
The two of them took in their stomachs, leaned back on a chair, looked at each other, and burst into laughter. Mu Jiang laughed at him: "I thought you were going to be a housewife after being with that Long Yixing? I didn't expect you to do some big things."
"I've become a farmer just for you? How about getting involved in education?"
The two of them kept talking back and forth, making Mu Jiang feel a little tired: "Okay, I need to rest. I have some meetings with some friends in a few days."
Ouyang pursed his lips. He only had one friend, so what did he mean by "making an appointment"? To put it bluntly, he was just trying to get her to leave. He didn't want her to be here next to him. So she got up and left. It seemed that he had really grown up and had his own ideas. I'm afraid no one can stop him from doing what he wants now.
On the way back, she encountered a few homeless people on the street. They hunched over and floated past her car, looking so small, as insignificant as ants on the ground. No one cared about their life or death.
After checking the time, Long and his team were just getting off work, so they drove to their fire station. But as soon as they got there, they saw them on a rescue mission.
Perhaps there was another fire somewhere. They were driving so fast that Ouyang fell behind them in a short while. So she could only find out if there was a fire nearby or other incidents that needed rescue. Then she drove in the direction she received the address.
When he arrived at the scene, Ouyang could already imagine the situation there, as well as Long's group's situation. He was a fearless person, so he was probably the one rushing to the front.
Her car was parked far away. She made her way through the crowd and saw the burned-out house. Most of the rescue workers had already gone up to check for any remaining trapped people, as the second floor and above were likely residential. Large firefighting equipment was constantly operating, and some of the fire had been extinguished.
"My child!" A woman who had just gotten off work stood downstairs, crying, "Save my child!"
A staff member began to talk to the people above, hoping to help the crying woman find the child trapped in the house as soon as possible.
Ouyang heard someone inside reply, it was Long Yixing. He was the kind of person who didn't care about his own life, which made her sweat, because the fire where the woman was was not extinguished.
Ouyang looked at a corridor behind the building, took some equipment from their car, and went straight upstairs.
She hoped to find Long and his group upstairs, or at least make sure he was safe.
"Hey!" A staff member saw her running upstairs and didn't have time to stop her. "It's dangerous up there."
She went straight up to the third floor and stopped at the door of room 204. The door had not been opened yet, which meant that Long and his group had not arrived at this place yet. Where was he trapped? She didn't have time to think so much, and immediately kicked the door open with all her strength. The door had been partially burned, so it was easier to open than she thought. She entered the house and looked around for the child. She found the little boy at the corner of the toilet. He was already suffering from lack of oxygen. Ouyang covered his mouth with a wet towel and carried him out, but she didn't expect that the fire had already enveloped the entire room. She looked out the window. It was the third floor. How could she leave with the child?
Suddenly, someone outside called out, "Is anyone there?" Because the house number plate on the door had been burned, Long and his group could only search room by room.
