"I'm not your wife!" Ouyang emphasized. "Secondly, this is a personal habit, no need to discuss it."
"You're not his wife," said the other short-haired woman, "so you're his husband's?"
"Nothing, he is him and I am me."
"That's a friend," said another thin woman. She was younger among the group and looked to be around 30 years old.
"That's about the same."
"Then which of us do you want?" asked the man with glasses.
Ouyang thought for a moment and said, "Whoever of you can wake up the person in the bed, I'll use him."
The three of them looked at each other, somewhat bewildered. Others looked for diligent individuals, but why did she want someone who could call out for help? Did she need someone with a loud voice?
The man wearing glasses went up first, and then said, "Sir, the sun is shining on your butt, get up quickly."
Jin Lu didn't move at all.
Then the short-haired woman came over and shouted, "Fire, fire!"
Jin Lu remained motionless.
The last woman said nothing and directly lifted his quilt, which annoyed Jin Lu: "Who are you?"
Ouyang couldn't hold back and laughed out loud: "Haha, it's you. You stay and sort out the things I bought first."
The other two people didn't say anything and just left.
Jin Lu looked at Ouyang, who was grinning beside him, and asked, "Are you taking revenge?"
Ouyang blushed as she thought of that morning. This actually made Jin Lu feel better. He got up, went to his room, and changed his clothes.
The woman who had finished cleaning the kitchen came out and saw Jin Lu in the hall was a little dumbfounded. He hadn't shaved his beard before and looked a little old, but now that he had shaved his beard, he looked much younger and exuded a charming aura.
"The owner of this house," Ouyang said, "you will be responsible for his daily life from now on. If one person is too busy, I will hire a chef."
"Are you not done yet?" Jin Lu said.
"Godmother," Ouyang waved his hand, "I can't do anything about it."
Jin Lu smiled and said, "I mean, how can she not handle it all by herself? My house is only this big."
"It can't withstand your tossing and turning every night." Ouyang said angrily.
The woman working had no idea what they were talking about, she just felt that she should move to another place away from the sight of these two people.
"Are you jealous?" Jin Lu asked. She often came to his house these days and ran into people she shouldn't have run into several times.
"I don't have the time." He took the car keys and walked out. "We have a doctor's appointment at ten o'clock."
"We?" Jin Lu followed behind her. It seemed like he had started to like this name since some time ago. At least it was better than calling her "brother."
He underwent a comprehensive examination in the hospital, and Ouyang sat in the lounge, waiting for the final results.
Around noon, the doctor came in with all the reports and looked at Ouyang: "Are you a family member of the patient?"
"Ah, Jin Lu's family members." She emphasized that the term "patient" was not a good term.
"Mr. Jin Lu's health isn't very good," the doctor said, examining each patient's medical records. "Long-term drinking has damaged his liver, and he also suffers from cholecystitis. I'm afraid he'll need surgery soon. His immune system is also somewhat compromised, which is very dangerous."
Ouyang looked at him: "What?" and snatched the report from his hand in disbelief.
"That's true," he said. "He needs to adjust his lifestyle, otherwise it will cause more serious damage to his body."
Ouyang then realized why her godmother had asked her to accompany Jin Lu for the physical examination. They must have known Jin Lu's current physical condition. "When can the surgery be done?"
"When would you like to do it? But I suggest as soon as possible."
"Then now."
When Jin Lu was pushed into the operating room by her, he held her hands tightly and said, "Can you wait for me to come out?"
"Yes."
The operation was successful, and Ouyang sat by his side until he woke up.
When he woke up, he saw her beside him, reached out and held her hand, then closed his eyes and rested again.
At night, she was a little tired and wanted to pull out her already numb hand, but she didn't expect that he was still very strong, making her unable to move. So, she supported her head with one hand and rested from time to time.
The next day, Mu Jianghe and Xia Yue watched them from outside. "Jin Lu is really sick at the right time," Mu Jiang said. They had finally eliminated Wang Xin, a fierce rival, and now they had encountered their biggest rival yet.
Xia Yue pushed the door open and woke Ouyang up. She tried to stand up, but her feet and hands were numb.
Mu Jiang looked at Ouyang who was caught by Jin Lu and asked: "You stayed here all night?"
Jin Lu also opened his eyes, let go of Ouyang's hand, and looked at them.
"Brother, how do you feel?"
"Well," he said, "it's okay." In fact, apart from the pain from the wound, he didn't feel anything else.
Ouyang adjusted his limbs and tried to regain his sense of self. Then he went to the bathroom to tidy himself up, and came out and said, "I have to go out for a while."
"Where are you going?" Jin Lu called her.
Considering his illness, she decided to lie: "There was a problem with the car parked in the garage." Then she walked out.
Mu Jiang thought she was a little strange, so he followed her. He finally found out that she was sleeping in her car. Then he sent a message to Xia Yue: "Ouyang is sleeping in the parking lot. It seems that she can't stand Jin Lu and your mother anymore."
Jin Lu saw Xia Yue checking her phone and asked, "Why are you here? Did Ouyang tell you I was in the hospital?"
