Chapter 152 Needing and Being Needed

Wang Xin's incident had indeed frightened her, but fortunately he hadn't done anything drastic, leaving her with a lingering fear.

In the evening, when Xia Yue invited her to a concert, she was still thinking about this question.

"Ouyang?" Xia Yue called her name from the side. "The concert is over."

"oh!"

Xia Yuedao sent her back home and looked at her with amusement: "When did you become so timid?"

He must be referring to the incident involving Wang Xin.

"How dare you laugh at me," Ouyang joked, "You were different last time, being chased by your partner's daughter?"

"I wasn't running away." Although the woman was indeed a bit clingy, since she and her father no longer had any cooperation, he was no longer afraid of her. "I just didn't want to cause too much trouble."

"Me too." After saying that, she turned around and went back.

Xia Yue smiled and asked, "How did this guy know about that woman?" Then she left.

The next day, Ouyang received a call from her godmother, saying that Jin Lu's phone was disconnected again and asked her to go check on him. So, still half asleep, she drove to Jin Lu's door and knocked for a long time, but there was no response. Finally, she had no choice but to climb in through the window.

In the living room downstairs, she saw the paintings and scattered clothes all over the room, which made her face turn red and white, and she didn't know how to express her current feelings.

"Godmother?"

"Ouyang, is Jin Lu okay?"

"It's okay," Ouyang looked at the two people on the sofa, then turned away, "He's just drunk."

"You, let him answer the phone."

"Godmother, I'll have him call you later." She hung up immediately. Standing in the middle of the living room, she looked around, then walked over to the stereo, turned it up to full volume, and turned it on. The whole house was filled with rousing music, waking up the sleeping occupants.

Jin Lu rubbed his eyes and saw the figure standing in the living room. He got up, put on his clothes, went to turn off the music, and looked at her: "How did you get in?"

Ouyang pointed upstairs: "Window."

"Are you really not afraid of falling?" Jin Lu asked the woman to take her things and leave. He was too lazy to clean up the living room. He called the cleaning lady and went upstairs. "Wait a moment."

Ouyang had left in such a hurry that he hadn't eaten anything yet. So he went to the kitchen and looked around. There was nothing in the refrigerator except beer. The cupboard was even more empty. He could only pour himself a glass of water first, then remembered his godmother's call. If Jin Lu didn't call his godmother in time, she would probably buy a plane ticket and rush over. So he went upstairs and entered his room. He heard the sound of running water: "Brother, godmother asked you to call home."

"The cell phone is on the bedside table, please get it for me." said the person inside.

She looked at the phone lying nearby, then stood up and hesitantly knocked on the door. A hand reached out from inside and pulled her in.

She closed her eyes and saw nothing.

"Don't call me brother from now on." Jin Lu snatched the phone from her hand and said.

She rushed out of the door, ran down the stairs, and ran out of the house, cursing in her heart: "Asshole, asshole."

Later, due to various "arrangements" by her godmother, she had to go to Jin Lu's house frequently. Usually, she would go to deliver food, and sometimes, she would go to supervise whether Jin Lu had an abnormal girlfriend.

"Godmother?" It was morning again and Wang Yao called her.

"Did you receive the jam I sent you yesterday?"

"Yes," she remembered that the housekeeper had told her this yesterday, "got it."

"Send some to Jin Lu's house," he added, "and see if he needs anything at home and buy some for him at the supermarket."

"Godmother," Ouyang said impatiently, "I'll find him a nanny."

"That's fine," Wang Yao said, "but you have to find a good one, not too young, not too old."

"Godmother!" She sat up. "How about you come to Beijing? I'll book a plane ticket for you now, okay?"

"Godmother won't go," Wang Yao warned, "He should have a physical examination soon. You take him to see a doctor. I can't persuade him."

"OK!"

She looked at the time: five in the morning. Was her godmother getting up so early to go for a walk or to buy groceries? She couldn't figure it out.

At six in the morning, she rang the doorbell of Jin Ru's house. The door opened quickly. It turned out that Jin Ru had recently moved his bed to the living room, so it was easy for him to hear the doorbell.

"This is sent by my godmother." Her hands were tired, so she stuffed it into his hands.

"What?"

"Jam." Ouyang sat on the sofa in the living room. "I don't understand why my godmother would send these things for no reason. Aren't these available in supermarkets?"

Jin Lu put his things in the kitchen and prepared to go back to sleep, but was disturbed by Ouyang's voice.

"Come with me to the supermarket later," Ouyang said, "and then go to the hospital."

Jin Lu didn't answer. He slept too late last night and was very sleepy now.

"Hey!" Ouyang turned around and saw Jin Lu still sleeping. "Okay, I'll find you a babysitter first."

She called the entire company at home and asked them to find a nanny according to her godmother's request. Then she looked in the refrigerator, but there was still nothing, so she went to the market.

When it was almost eight o'clock, she rushed back and happened to meet three people sent by the housekeeping company, who said they would choose one from them.

She led them in, and all three of them glanced at Jin Lu who was still sleeping.

"Ma'am," a woman wearing glasses said, "your house is really unique. Do you sleep in the hall?"
