Chapter 154 Under the Moonlight (Finale)

Ouyang walked into the living room, then into the kitchen, and washed herself a tomato. She hadn't had time to eat lunch, so she was a little hungry. She wasn't sure if she was in such a hurry to see Xia Yue, or if she was just trying to persuade him to go back as soon as possible.

"Are you hungry?" Xia Yue asked as she came in from outside. "Shall I make you a bowl of noodles?"

"Okay." She sat on the chair next to her, and from her position she could just see the bamboo swaying in the wind outside.

Xia Yue glanced at her profile from the corner of her eye. She seemed to be much thinner than the last time she saw her. It seemed that the company had put a lot of pressure on her.

A simple bowl of noodles with soy sauce filled Ouyang's stomach. Xia Yue reached out to help her wipe the residue from her mouth. Their eyes met, leaving Ouyang at a loss for words.

"Well," Ouyang said, "I came here this time because I want you to return to Zhuo Group. The position of chairman is still yours."

He looked at her and saw her sincerity, but it was not enough for him, really not enough.

"Since you're here, why not stay a few more days?" Xia Yue asked her to stay and wanted her to stay. Only by staying could she feel his feelings for her.

"But!"

Mu Jiang ran in at this time. He seemed to have an all-knowing ear. Looking at Ouyang's anxious look, he said, "Ouyang, you're too anxious. When we left, we had no intention of going back. You don't know how comfortable we are living here. This is what life is all about."

Ouyang frowned. This guy was always against him. "No matter what method I use this time, I will make Xia Yue come back with me."

"Why?" Mu Jiang retorted, "Because you're a woman, I tell you, we won't sympathize with you."

Ouyang walked out and went up to her room. Mu Jiang's words irritated her. Why should Xia Yue go back with him? She had handed the entire Zhuo Group over to him.

"Why are you talking to her like that?" Xia Yue was dissatisfied.

"Are you feeling bad now?" Mu Jiang patted his chest. "Don't worry. When you become my brother-in-law, you'll definitely give me some."

During dinner, Mu Jiang brought up the original condition again, which disgusted Xia Yue. He had never wanted to use a contract to bind Ouyang. Ouyang looked at Xia Yue's reaction. Although it was different from what she expected, it was also interesting. She felt that Xia Yue should not be that kind of person. At least, if Mu Jiang hadn't been behind him, he would not have proposed such a condition.

"Xia Yue, do you think so too?" She was looking forward to his answer.

"If I say something, will you think I'm a mean person? If I say it's not true, then I'm not sincere."

"You're talking strangely," she said. "Just tell me what it takes for you to go back."

"I want your truest thoughts. Why did you come to me this time?"

"So that you can go back."

"Then why me? I'm just managing a small farm, nothing special. There are many people more talented than me. You can definitely find an assistant."

"I..." She hesitated a little, "Can't you just consider it as helping me?"

Ouyang didn't get an answer.

At night, the moonlight shone into Ouyang's room. She couldn't sleep, so she went downstairs and saw Xia Yue standing in front of the door. He saw her, stubbed out the cigarette in his hand, and prepared to go back to his room.

"Wait!" she said. "Can we go out and sit for a while?"

The moonlight outside was bright, and the scenery was truly beautiful. If Ouyang wasn't who she is now, perhaps she would be willing to stay and become a simple farmer. She would work from sunrise to sunset every day. Such beauty would always be with her.

The two sat on the stairs, looking at the hills in the distance.

"Xia Yue," she said, "I saw my photo on your computer."

"That should be your computer."

She turned her head and looked at him. She could clearly feel his love for her, but this time, she really wanted to hear him tell her in person: "I can't remember much about our childhood, but we are about the same age, so we should be able to talk about it."

"You probably didn't like me very much back then," he said, "because I always told tales about you to mom."

"Yeah?"

"You were very naughty back then, even naughtier than the boys," he said, reminiscing. "Then, as we grew older, I realized we weren't really siblings. Things seemed to change. I loved following you around, watching over you, protecting you. It was probably from that time that I began to feel like a true man."

"You love me? Don't you?"

Their eyes met. Xia Yue hadn't expected her to ask this question, and she almost didn't know how to answer her question: "Yes! Always."

Such a positive answer made Ouyang's heart beat fast. After he said this, she actually felt extremely fortunate, fortunate that it was such an answer.

She took the initiative to kiss him, which surprised Xia Yue. Such moonlight, such a scene, obviously only appeared in his dreams.

"Maybe, I've fallen in love with you too," she said softly, "but it's just obscured by some complicated things."

"real?"

"real."

"I thought you were doing this for your Zhuo family," Xia Yue smiled, "it seems the Zhuo family is more important to you."

"It was a kind of promise at that time. You know, Uncle Zhuo and Grandpa Zhuo were like family to me."

He moved closer to her: "Wait a moment!" He went back to the room.

Ouyang looked at his back, which looked so different under the moonlight.
