Chapter 27 Taking Over the Case



"This is not easy," she stood up, just close to his nose, "I think something is missing." She turned to the kitchen to get a candlestick and lit a candle.

In this atmosphere, she devoured all her food, telling him stories, interspersed with her own creations, which also made him laugh. After dinner, he played soothing music in the living room and invited her to dance. She once again showed her tenderness and took the initiative to kiss his cheek. She didn't reject this complex relationship with him, but without knowing him at all, she was more cautious. She paused, stepped aside, and put on her coat.

"What's wrong?" He stood behind her.

"Who are you?" The bodyguards who protected him were on guard outside such a secluded villa almost 24 hours a day. The surveillance system outside was very complete. Even a mole that dug a burrow in the ground would probably not escape surveillance.

"You never asked that question." He sat on the sofa.

"Just curious," she blinked, regaining her previous enthusiasm, "but keeping it mysterious is more fascinating."

He looked at her and held her in his arms: "Mystery?"

She scratched his nose: "Except for this, nothing else seems to attract me so much."

He carried her upstairs. How could he not know that she had investigated him before, to no avail? Her rejection of him last time was largely due to her wounded competitive spirit. And her approach this time might be more than just a desire to avoid trouble. He, too, was drawn to her irresistible sense of mystery, eager to discover what secrets she harbored.
