Chapter 28 Painter

Early in the morning, the cell phone that fell on the carpet kept ringing. In a daze, she stretched out her hand but found nothing. Instead, he picked it up, slid the screen, and put the phone next to her ear.

"Hello?" She put the phone under her head. "Who is it?"

"It's me, Shan Cong."

"What's the result?"

"Where are you now? Would it be convenient for you to come over? Or I can come find you."

"Give me an hour." She hung up the phone and went back to sleep.

He watched her act so dishonestly, and remembered how he had been treated the same way in England. He got up first, washed up, and came out to see her lying in bed. He went downstairs to make breakfast. An hour had passed when her phone rang again. This time, he answered the call, and heard the anxious voice on the other end: "My dear, are you really out?"

"She's still sleeping." Ouyang Yusheng said.

The other party was a little surprised and looked at the number: "Hello, who is this?"

"You don't need to know who I am." He glanced at the person on the bed. "I think you'd better not expect her to keep her promise."

"ah?"

The call was hung up. The colleague sitting opposite him felt a little sympathetic towards him, handed him a bottle of drink, pointed upstairs, and asked him to go find the captain to find a solution.

He hadn't handled any major cases in the month since he came here. The captain had finally asked him to handle this case, so he couldn't just let it go.

In the afternoon, she met him at a cafe.

"Well, I found out that the person in the camera did have an unusual relationship with the deceased. They even traveled abroad together. I tried to contact him, but he seemed reluctant to talk about the deceased."

"What did you find about fingerprints and hair?"

"That person's fingerprints were indeed found on those items, but the hair wasn't his. This means someone else was in that house."

"Has that aunt been found?"

"Well," he pulled out a profile, "She's an internal employee of a cleaning company. She's very professional and is considered an excellent maid by people in the industry."

"Her background is also very clean," she said after reading the information. "So, the two people most likely to have entered the crime scene actually had no motive for murder."

"It seems so."

"What should we do next?"

Mu Zishan looked at the time and said, "Let's have afternoon tea."

"Do you still have the confidence to have afternoon tea?" He leaned back in his chair.

"It's okay if you don't eat, but you might not be able to eat anything for a while."

He seemed to know what she was going to do next. He immediately stood up and followed her to eat something.

They went to the forensic examination room, where the forensic doctor found the deceased's body and described the injuries in detail: "A normal person attacked would struggle or call for help, but he seemed very calm and just died slowly."

"Any anesthetic drugs in your system?" she asked.

"No."

She asked Shan Cong to take out the things he found in the secret compartment of the toilet: "He has some special habits. Considering the lifestyle of this kind of people, could there be any anesthetic drugs that are easily overlooked?"

The forensic doctor was a little surprised. He immediately went to the computer room to look up some information, then came back and told them, "If I'm not mistaken, there's a type of neuroleptic drug that can burn and produce gas, which enters the brain and causes a certain kind of fainting or hallucination. This distracts the pain, or gradually makes it disappear. This is a common method they use."

Shan Cong quickly wrote these things down: "What kind of medicine is this?"

"It's made from a compound spice, and you can also configure it according to your own wishes."

Mu Zishan thought of the aunt's information again. She used to be a pharmacist, which meant she was very familiar with this medicine. "Let's go."

"What?" Shan Cong followed, then returned the pen to the forensic doctor, "Thank you."

They soon arrived downstairs where the cleaning lady was. It was already time to get off work, and she should be going home soon. The two of them sat in the car and waited for about half an hour.

The cleaning lady went upstairs and was soon followed by a man.

"That's him, the man in the photo."

"It seems your ability to research information is still a little weak." She put the woman's information back in his hands, "I'll find you a teacher next time."

It was also the first time for him to do such a thing, and he never thought that these two people were related. After all, one was a cleaner and the other was an artist.

"It's obvious that the two of them worked together to kill the deceased."

"This is Xiaoxue's number," she handed him the number on her phone. "Contact her and ask her to teach you what an investigation is."

He obediently wrote down the phone number.

Mu Zishan went upstairs at this time. She did not knock on the woman's room, but knocked on the door next to hers. "Knock knock knock!"

The man opened the door and saw Mu Zishan: "Who are you looking for?"

"Oh, I'm looking for Ms. Wu. Doesn't she live here?"

He looked her up and down: "Next door."

"Oh," she sighed, "That's what I said, she didn't tell me she had a boyfriend." When he wasn't paying attention, she looked at the furnishings in his room, which were all artistic nude portraits.

She turned and knocked on the woman's door, and he closed it.

The woman opened the door, and Shan Cong walked in from the stairwell. He showed her his ID, and she let them in.
