Chapter 34 Going Back

Mother Lu packed some things for her son overnight and retrieved the various documents from his father's safe. She kept reminding him in the room, "You must take good care of yourself when you are out there. I don't know if Mu Zishan can cook. If she can't, you can hire a nanny. Don't eat food cooked outside, okay?"

"Mom," he stood in front of her, "thank you."

"What are you thanking me for?" She patted his shoulder. "Do you think Mom can't see that you've been in love with me for a long time? You even kept my childhood photos. By the way, are you planning to get married?"

"Mom, we haven't reached that point yet. She just sees me as a friend."

"I don't think so," said Lu's mother. "Women are the best at judging other women. Didn't you see how nervous she was about your wedding today? You could tell right away that she had you in her heart."

"I hope so."

"Son," Lu's mother said, "if you miss out on something, you will regret it for the rest of your life."

"I know."

Mother Lu asked, "Does she have a boyfriend?"

He was silent.

Mother Lu helped him pack his things and left. Zhuo Qiang knocked on the door and went in: "How is it? Do you feel a lot more relaxed about not being the groom?"

"Why don't you try it."

"My dad would force a marriage like this," he took out something from his pocket and threw it to him, "Yours."

"What's this?"

"Just open it and you'll know."

Lu Yang opened it and saw two rings: "What does it mean?"

"Mu Zishan picked it out today, saying it's a wedding gift for you," he said, "Now that you haven't gotten married yet, I paid for it. I'll see when you can transfer the money to my account."

Lu Yang punched him: "You said this was a gift from her?"

"I'm wondering too, what does it mean that she gave someone a pair of wedding rings when they're getting married?" Zhuo Qiang was lying on his bed.

Zhuo Qiang certainly didn't know the meaning behind this, but Lu Yang did. This was a code word often used between Mu Zishan and Mu Zibai. "Weddingring" stood for "wry," and she was expressing her mockery and anger: "I can still give you this money."

"What is it? Don't keep me in suspense." Zhuo Qiang asked.

"Her brother used to like teasing her this way," Lu Yang said, sitting on a chair. "I think he gave her an eyedrop. She was very angry. I asked her what it meant. She said edgy means fierce and sassy. This is a program Mu Zibai wrote specifically for her. Later, by chance, I saw it at his house."

"So that's how it is." Zhuo Qiang finally understood why she smiled so abnormally when she bought the ring.

Lu Yang put his things into the suitcase, and the two of them clapped their hands in unison, just like they always did. The hotel staff had already delivered their things, and Zhuo Qiang helped Mu Zishan carry the luggage upstairs: "Knock knock knock!"

"Come in." She was doing a handstand when she saw Zhuo Qiang coming in with his luggage. "Just put your things there. Thank you for your help."

"What are you doing?" Zhuo Qiang walked over. "Is there something you can't figure out?"

"Anything else?"

"No."

"Then don't go out."

"I'm just curious," he said, also standing upside down on the wall, "Is the view here good?"

Mu Zishan sat down on the ground and relaxed: "Tell me, what's the matter?"

"Well," he said, sitting nearby, "I want to know about the last acquisition."

“I sent it.”

"He knows?"

"Know."

He suddenly stood up, pointed at her nose and said, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? I thought it was that spy. If I had known, I would have blackmailed that guy. I put a lot of effort into this company."

"If I remember correctly, Lu Yang paid more."

"Of course, there are benefits to him," he asked, moving closer. "Who is that guy? Why is he so rich? Why does he have to be interested in our small company?"

"Are you really not aware or are you just pretending not to know?" Mu Zishan said, "The innovative value of your company far exceeds the price he offered you. Of course, this also requires a good platform. However, in China, there are very few things that have both innovative value and market competitiveness."

"You mean, we're at a disadvantage."

Mu Zishan stood up and pushed him out: "Have a good sleep."

Zhuo Qiang had always thought that this guy wanted to acquire their company because of Mu Zishan. It seemed that he underestimated the other party's strength and lost to him.

The next morning, they took an early flight back to Beijing. Shan Cong and Xiao Xue came to pick up Mu Zi Shan, and just behind them, Mu Zi Shan saw Ouyang Yu Sheng.

She handed her luggage to Xiaoxue, asked them to leave first, and got into Ouyang Yusheng's car. He drove very fast and stopped by an artificial lake: "Why did you leave without saying goodbye?"

"Let's put it this way," Mu Zishan looked at him, "We are not of the same kind and can never be together. I can't give you what you want, and you can't give me what I want."

He was a little disappointed with her: "You really are like two different people, so cold on the surface."

She might really have feelings for him, even if she didn't care about his identity, but it would be difficult for her to fall in love with him.

He always took every word she said seriously, to the point that such words made him feel heartbroken. Looking at her back as she turned away, sadness crept into his heart.

"Master!" The housekeeper rushed over and saw that his hand was bleeding from hitting the fence. "Stop torturing yourself like this. She's not worth it."

"You don't understand anything," he turned and got into the car, "Once you fall in love, you can't get rid of it."

"Master, how should we respond to Europe?"

"Let them do whatever they want," he closed his eyes, "don't tell me these things in the future."

"But ma'am..."

"I will contact her personally."

"yes."

Mu Zishan returned to the courtyard, and everything was the same as before. Aunt Lin was very happy to see them back, and she took good care of the flowers and plants in the house. Xiaoxue and the others were waiting for her in her old room. The familiar scene still retained the same flavor as before.

Xiaoxue told her about the recent situation. Everything was going on normally, and they were just waiting for the auction next Monday night. Shan Cong got some useful information from Hunan. They said they had found another female corpse in the tomb. It was placed in the center of the tomb, which looked like a place for sacrifice.

She looked at some photos. The body had already decayed, but the watch on her wrist was intact, as was the first diamond hairpin in her hair. They also found some animal traces around the body, probably caused by rats. As for the deceased's identity, they are currently investigating.
