Chapter 45 Recovery

After a month's rest, Mu Zishan returned to the courtyard from the hospital. The first person to visit her was Shan Cong, who said that the case involving the bronze artifact had been solved, but no one knew who had the bronze artifact.

She listened to him talk about the whole process of solving the case. Officer Li was praised by his superiors, and Shan Cong was promoted because of this. Seeing her recovery, he was relieved because he had just been promoted and had a lot of things to do in the bureau.

She had never imagined that she would be as sickly as Lin Daiyu now. Lu Yang even treated her as a patient who could not take care of herself.

He built a swing in the yard, and as soon as the sun came out in the morning, he would force her out to bask in the sun. Even her meals had become much lighter recently, with nothing but various kinds of porridge. In the afternoon, he would take her out for a walk, to see the naughty children and the idle elderly.

One night, while Lu Yang was away, she secretly called Shan Cong and asked her to drive her out. If she continued like this, she would either be sick or get sick from idleness.

The car stopped outside the courtyard, and she got in. Shan Cong asked, "It's been two months since we last met. Have you recovered well?"

"It's ready," she said. "Let's go."

Shan Cong drove away: "Where do you want to go?"

"bar!"

"Bar?" He asked worriedly. "Are you sure?"

"Well, I smell passion already," she told him. "Pick the biggest bar."

Shan Cong had no choice but to comply. He drove to the bar and ordered some light drinks. The noisy surroundings, the men and women dancing with joy, seemed to have her passion for life back, and she headed towards the dance floor.

"Hey!" Shan Cong was still a little worried, but a woman who came up next to him entangled him, so he could only pay attention to the direction of the dance floor.

Mu Zishan quickly blended into this bohemian environment. Many men surrounded her, and she reveled in the moment. Suddenly, a hand reached for her waist. She frowned and slapped the man in the face. The stage lights were bright, and his friend came over, looking as if he was trying to stand up for her.

"Miss, what do you mean?" the other party said loudly.

"Sir," she looked up at him, "if you were bitten by a mosquito, would you slap it?"

Shan Cong noticed something was wrong outside, pushed the woman next to him away, and rushed over: "What's going on?"

"Are you a friend of this crazy woman?" the person standing in front of her asked. "Why are you so unconvinced that you let her come out and bite people?"

"Zishan, are you okay?" Shan Cong asked.

"Hey," the other person pushed Shan Cong, "I'm talking to you and you're pretending not to hear me, right?"

"Please be more respectful." Shan Cong fought back, and they soon started fighting.

Mu Zishan kicked a man, and the man not far away took a bottle and went straight to Mu Zishan's head. At this moment, the pain did not come as expected, but someone blocked the bottle on her head.

Zhuo Qiang brought a group of people from the bar over and quickly drove out the troublemakers. The three of them went to a private room. Zhuo Qiang looked at the two of them and smiled unconsciously: "A policeman and a patient, what are they doing here to join in the fun?"

Shan Cong scratched his head, a little embarrassed: "I'm sorry to trouble you."

The waiter poured them some water, but was stopped by Zhuo Qiang: "Tell your manager that I don't want to see those people in this place anymore."

"Yes, Master Zhuo."

Mu Zishan drank some water and leaned on the sofa without saying anything.

"Shan Cong," Zhuo Qiang said to him, "If you're okay, go back. I'll take her back."

"Then I'll trouble you." Shan Cong glanced at Mu Zishan, then got up and left.

After he left, Zhuo Qiang opened the red wine and poured her some: "Want a drink?"

She sat up, swirled the glass, and downed it all in one gulp. The wine was indeed good, but it couldn't alleviate the anxiety she felt inside. One bottle, two bottles, three bottles... She got herself drunk.

Zhuo Qiang glanced at the phone next to her. It was all from Lu Yang. She continued to savor the wine. The waiter came in with another bottle of wine and saw Mu Zishan slumped on the sofa. He asked, "Mr. Zhuo, the room upstairs..."

"No need," he said, "find me a designated driver."

"OK."

He put his coat on her and helped her out of the bar. She stumbled and fell to the ground. He picked her up and put her in the car.

She put her hand on his neck and muttered, "Don't tell Lu Yang that I drank, otherwise he will be angry again."

"Got it!" he agreed.

"Hehehe," she hugged his neck, "You are still the best to me."

Soon, they arrived at the courtyard. Aunt Lin got up and saw Zhuo Qiang carrying Mu Zishan in. She quickly opened the door for them. After putting her on the bed, the two of them left carefully.

The news of the next day quickly reported Zhuo Qiang's scandal again. The photo of him hugging Mu Zishan and riding a bicycle outside the bar spread throughout the media in an instant.

Lu Yang came out of the room and looked at the newspaper that day. He found that the woman in Zhuo Qiang's gossip news looked more and more like Mu Zishan. When Zhuo Qiang came out, he asked about the situation: "Were you with Zishan yesterday?"

"Yeah, we met at the bar," he said casually, "and we had a few drinks."

"How could you take her drinking? She has just recovered." He said very seriously.

"Lu Yang," Zhuo Qiang put down his water glass, "you should actually treat her differently. Yes, I admit you're right. She's sick now, but that doesn't mean she has lost the right to do what she wants."

Lu Yang fell into deep thought. After a while, Mu Zishan came out of the room after taking a shower. Seeing the two of them sitting there looking at themselves, he asked, "What's wrong?"

"Auntie Lin," Zhuo Qiang called out, "I won't be back for dinner tonight. There's a party at the company."

"knew."

After that game design company, Zhuo Qiang opened a few more hotels and also co-founded a bar with others. Although these jobs were very easy, there were some indispensable activities every month.

After Zhuo Qiang left, Lu Yang looked at her, which made her feel a little uncomfortable: "Just say what you want to say, why are you looking at me like that?"

"I admit that I've been controlling you too much during this period," he shifted his gaze to the bouquet of flowers on the table, "You know, I'm only concerned about your health."

"I see."

He still felt a little guilty because recently, people who hadn't been online had come to her for work or to investigate cases, but he had turned them away. Even her computer was under his control. Yesterday, when she wasn't at home, he called her many times, but she didn't answer. He was very disappointed.
