Chapter 70: Farm

"What's your purpose?" Dong Xiuxiu looked at him strangely. "Do you know her?"

"We used to be friends."

This man had lived next to Mu Zishan for so long, but he had never appeared in her house. Mu Zishan had never mentioned this man, and he looked at him with some suspicion.

Seeing that he didn't quite believe it, Ouyang Yusheng didn't say much to him: "She is watching you."

Dong Yuyu turned around and found Mu Zishan watching them from the yard, so he walked back. Before he could ask anything, Mu Zishan spoke, "We know each other."

"Then why?" he asked, "I haven't seen you talk before?"

"Because we don't bother each other," she picked up the wine glasses left in the yard and went back, "it's best not to investigate him."

Dong Xiuxiu didn't expect that she could guess what he was thinking. He looked at the next door and saw that he had already gotten into the car and left.

Mu Zishan and Ouyang Yusheng's lives have nothing to do with each other. He just looks at her, and she just does something seriously, not caring or asking about anything happening next door.

Wang Yao was familiar with Ouyang Yusheng. Every time she came to Mu Zishan's house, she always liked to discuss Ouyang Yusheng, who lived next door to her. In her opinion, Ouyang Yusheng was indeed more handsome than the male actors on TV. She would even go to the neighboring house to borrow soy sauce even with a big belly.

This migrant worker incident spread quickly, with major online media outlets capitalizing on the incident and hyping it up. The media, having obtained information about Mu Zishan from the farmers, gathered outside her yard, even using the term "Miss Detective" again. Such headlines quickly appeared on online news, and many residents of the community, eager to investigate, entered her yard as visitors, bearing various gifts.

She was very polite to her neighbors because many of them had witnessed her growth, or in other words, they were a group of people who rarely remembered what her brother looked like.

An old lady said to her, "You look like you're not married either. I heard there's a handsome guy living next door to you."

She lowered her head and didn't want to get involved in what she thought was her enthusiasm.

As the aunt was talking, she went to the next room to call Ouyang Yusheng over and asked him to sit next to Mu Zishan. The aunt looked very satisfied and her eyes fell on the other aunts with a show-off look.

"Young man, how old are you when you come in?" the aunt asked relentlessly.

"Twenty-seven."

"So young," the aunt looked at him in surprise, "just the same age as our Zishan. Do you have a girlfriend?"

He looked at Mu Zishan, and the corners of his mouth rose: "Not yet."

"It just so happens that our Zishan doesn't have any now," the aunt said on her own initiative. "Come visit Zishan's house more often in the future. You may not know that she loved to be a detective when she was a child, and now she has actually become a detective. Look how talented this child is."

Ouyang Yusheng understood what was said. He just glanced at Mu Zishan's face and didn't look very happy.

It was almost time for dinner, and the aunties finally left. The children picked some flowers from the yard and followed them home contentedly.

With only the two of them left, he had no intention of leaving.

Mu Zishan got up and went in, leaving him in the yard. She took a nap and woke up to find that the yard had been tidied up very cleanly. How could she not know that this was specially cleaned by Ouyang Yusheng for her? She just didn't want to dwell on the past, especially Ouyang Yusheng. She only felt guilty towards him.

At the invitation of others, Mu Zishan participated in an art exhibition. It was heard that this exhibition was the first exhibition held by a famous domestic painter.

She entered the exhibition hall with the invitation. The layout was indeed quite unique, and the lighting was just right. Various oil paintings expressed the artist's emotions.

On the second floor, there were several landscape photos hanging there, forming a scenic spot. In the center of those photos was a sketch, and the person in the sketch was Mu Zishan.

The people around looked at the painting, then looked at Mu Zishan, and talked in low voices.

"That's her!"

“I didn’t expect the painter to be so good and be able to capture such a subtle look.”

"It's rare to see people in paintings," someone joked, "This exhibition is quite unique."

Mu Zishan stood in front of the painting and looked up to see a camera lens in the upper right corner. Then he went downstairs and met the organizer of the exhibition: "Miss, we are very glad that you accepted our invitation. Could you please take a picture?"

She noticed that the organizer was followed by a young man wearing glasses. He looked exactly like the writer on the invitation letter. "Sure!"

The organizer and the painter stood on either side of her. The photographer said, "3, 2, 1!", which made the painter next to her smile slightly.

The painter seemed very shy, hiding his eyes behind his glasses and not daring to look directly at Mu Zishan. The organizer discussed the exhibition income with him and then left the exhibition hall.

"Mu Zishan," the painter finally spoke, "I'm glad you can participate in this exhibition."

She couldn't remember when she had seen him before, but his sincerity put her doubts to rest: "Hello!"

"I..." He seemed to be hesitating, "We met in England."

He looked no more than twenty-one or twenty-two, much younger than her, so he shouldn't be her classmate. "I'm sorry, I don't remember it very clearly."

"In the square, you gave me a loaf of bread."

His words reminded her of something. This boy looked very much like the little beggar she had seen before, but she didn't expect that he would become an outstanding painter now.

At that time, she was in a British square and felt very distressed for seeing her curled up in a chair, so she bought him a loaf of bread and remembered that she left some money for him.
