Chapter 76: Primrose

Finally reaching the gate of the community, she lay on Jin Lu's back and kept telling him about her experiences. Xia Yue called them and said, "Mom and Dad are back. Please come in later."

In order to avoid being discovered, the two people had to wait outside for a while and only go in after they had rested.

Ten minutes later, Xia Yue quietly opened the door for them, and Jin Lu carried her upstairs and into the room.

In the room, the three of them exchanged glances. Xia Yue went to the storage room to find the medicine box, and Jin Lu helped her prepare some bath water. After she had a bath and applied the medicine, they each returned to their own rooms.

In the morning, she put on a long coat to cover the wounds on her arms and legs and sat in the restaurant. Her godmother looked at her strangely: "Are you sick?"

"Cough, cough, cough," she coughed a few times, "I just feel a little cold."

"I'll make you a cup of cold medicine."

"Mom," Jin Lu said, "You can't keep taking medicine."

Xia Yue also agreed: "That's right, the scientific way to fight disease is to enhance one's own immunity."

"Really?" Wang Yao was a little unconvinced.

The three of them quickly finished their meal and left with their lunch boxes.

"Remember to come back early for dinner in the evening." Wang Yao reminded.

"knew!"

Once on the subway, she took off her coat because it was so hot.

Xia Yue and she were placed in the last group, the least talented of them, choosing to sing a duet. A simple song, "Two Tigers," made them the hero and heroine of the play "Primrose." The teacher said this local play needed students like these, unpretentious, like a blank sheet of paper, easily painted with anything they desired.

On their days off, they were busy rehearsing. It was rare to see Xia Yue not working hard for her studies, and Wang Yao and her husband were very happy. They postponed their dinner and encouraged them to participate in more activities like this.

The three children do not have a high status in the family. Their father is busy teaching and does not manage the household affairs much. In addition to working, their mother also has to take care of their food, clothing, housing and transportation. Therefore, her status is the highest and the whole family has to obey her command.
