She smiled and said, "Grandpa, I'm a girl. You see, I'm wearing a skirt."
"Oh, it's really beautiful. My grandson looks good in anything he wears," the old grandfather said happily, "Just as beautiful as your grandmother."
She held his hand and walked home along the Yangtze River. When they were almost at the doorstep, her godfather's car stopped in front of them.
"Ouyang, who is this?" Godmother got out of the car and looked at them. "Why aren't you going home yet?"
The two got into the car. The godfather saw from the rearview mirror that the old man seemed to have some problems and reminded Wang Yao not to speak casually.
Jin Lu and Xia Yue, who were at home, saw their parents and Ouyang Zishan coming back together: "It's over!" But when they saw the old man following Ouyang Zishan, they began to plan to focus all their attention on the old man and try not to let their mother find out that Ouyang Zishan had skipped school.
Ouyang Zishan poured the old man a cup of hot water and asked him to sit on the sofa. The old man held her hand and looked at the strangers motionlessly: "Why are they in our house?"
"Ah?" Xia Yue said, "This is our home."
When the old man heard this, he looked aggrieved: "My home!"
"Okay, okay," Ouyang Zishan quickly comforted her, "It's your home." She looked at them and pointed at her head, "Why doesn't he know where his home is now?"
Wang Yao sat next to the old man and looked at him carefully: "Old man, do you know what your home phone number is?"
The old man shook his head, and my father suggested, "We'd better call the police. His family must be looking for him."
Ouyang Zishan did not agree to call the police at first, because she always thought that the police station was an uncomfortable place, and she did not want to let an old man stay there alone.
Dad seemed to see through Ouyang Zishan's thoughts: "Let's tell the police first, at least let their families know that they are safe in our home."
"All right!"
She took Grandpa to his room first so he could get some sleep. As she was helping him take off his coat, she saw a sign with a phone number on it. She quickly found her phone in her bag and called the number: "Hello! Are you Grandpa's family?"
Ren Qi looked at the phone number: "Ouyang Zishan?"
She also looked at the phone number in her hand and felt that it was familiar: "Who is it?"
"Ren Qi," Ren Qi said, "Is my grandfather with you?"
"Yes." She told him the location, then helped her grandfather lie on the bed, covered him with a blanket, and went downstairs. "No need to call the police. I just found his family's phone number on him. I have already called them." She sat on the sofa, and the whole family looked at her at a loss.
The two brothers were still being interrogated by their parents, and just when they were about to tell her about skipping classes, she came downstairs and interrupted their conversation.
Soon someone rang the doorbell and left him standing outside: "Hello!"
"Who are you?" The father saw that the other person was wearing the same school uniform as the other children at home, which was a little strange, but he also connected him with the old man upstairs. "Are you a family member of the old man?"
"Yes, I am his grandson."
Dad let him into the room, which surprised Jin Lu inside: "Let him go!"
"Hello," Ren Qi said politely, looking at Ouyang Zishan who was sitting on the sofa, "Thank you for helping me take care of grandpa."
Wang Yao's mother stepped forward, trying to find an adult behind him. "Just you, a child? Where are your family?"
He explained: "My parents are both abroad, so my grandfather and I are sitting together."
Wang Yao's mother was a little angry just now, but she softened her attitude and said, "How about this? We have just made dinner, so you and Grandpa can stay and have dinner before leaving."
"Mom," Jin Lu reminded, "Ren Qi finally found his grandfather, so don't cause him any more trouble."
"Jin Lu, how can you talk to your mother?" Xia Yu's father also invited, "Since you and our Jin Lu are classmates, why not stay and have a simple meal?"
"Okay then!" Ren Qi nodded.
"Take your classmates upstairs to see Grandpa," Xia Yu's father said, "and come down to eat later."
Ouyang Zishan walked in front, and the three people behind him entered the room one after another and saw the old grandfather sitting up in a daze.
Ren Qi walked over: "Grandpa!"
"Hmm?" The old man looked at him, "Who are you?"
"I'm Ren Qi!"
"Ren Qi? Little naughty bug?"
Ouyang Zishan couldn't control her tears when she saw this scene. Jin Lu let her lean on his shoulder and felt the wetness on his shoulder.
Xia Yue, who was standing aside, also felt a little emotional, thinking of the elderly people she had visited with her family before. Most of them were like this grandfather. No one could remember them clearly, but her closest family members could still remember them.
During the meal, the old man held Ren Qi's hand, just as he had held Ouyang Zishan's. Upstairs, after watching her parents send them off, Ouyang Zishan turned around and sat down at her desk. Someone had already sent her a message on her computer, telling her some stories about the detective. The location they mentioned excited her. Beijing, Beijing, those two words kept turning in her head.
At the end of the exam, although she didn't get the best score, she wasn't the last one either.
Recently, she had the idea of going to Beijing. When she was little, she learned from her godmother that her grandfather and uncle were in Beijing, and she wanted to go see them. But she was a little scared because after so many years, they had never seen her, not even a letter, let alone a phone call.
