"Well," Ren Qi thought of a plan. He took her away first and sent a message to the students inside, asking them not to tell Jin Lu that she was there. "Then it seems you can't continue working in this cafe. He will find you sooner or later."
The two of them got in the car and went to a nearby internet cafe. Seeing that she looked distracted, he asked, "Are you having any difficulties?"
"I want to go to Beijing."
"Beijing?"
"right."
"What are you going there for?"
"Looking for family."
"Aren't Jin Lu and the others your family?"
"They just adopted me," she said firmly, "so I have to find my family."
"So that's why you came out to work and earn money, just to go to Beijing?"
She nodded. To prove she had a target, she looked up an address online for him: "This courtyard is where my mother once lived. As long as we go there, we will definitely find my family."
"Is your mother there?" Ren Qi asked.
"No," she said sadly, "We don't know where she is. She sent a suicide note not long ago."
Ren Qi quickly took out a pack of tissues and gave it to her, as she could no longer control her emotions.
After she calmed down a little, he let her go home. In his memory, she was a strong girl, but he didn't expect that she had such a complicated life experience.
When they got home, Wang Yao's mother was in the living room, very serious: "Ouyang Zishan, come here."
She walked over and saw the money on the coffee table. Her heart dropped to her throat. "Godmother."
"Don't call me godmother," Wang Yao said, getting angry in front of her for the first time. "Tell me, where did all this money come from? What do you do with so much money?"
"Wang Yao, watch your tone." Xia Yu, who was sitting on the side, was worried about irritating the child.
"I think you've grown too independent. You haven't been studying well lately, and you've been hanging out all the time on weekends. Tell me, what's going on?"
Xia Yue came out of the study upon hearing the sound, and Jin Lu also came back from outside.
"Mom and Dad!" Jin Lu called out, "What are you doing?"
Ouyang Zishan refused to say anything and was finally punished to reflect on his mistakes facing the wall, and he was not even allowed to eat.
At night, after Wang Yao and Xia Yu fell asleep, Jin Lu and Xia Yue came out of the room and gave her some cookies and milk. Jin Lu whispered, "Did you go to work at the coffee shop?"
She glanced at him without saying anything, but just kept eating. She had been hungry all day.
"Brother, can you talk to mom tomorrow and tell her not to punish Ouyang anymore?" Xia Yue said, "Mom and Dad usually listen to you the most."
"knew."
But when she woke up the next day, Ouyang Zishan had disappeared. Worried, Wang Yao searched everywhere in the house and even called teachers and classmates, but there was no news of Ouyang Zishan.
Wang Yao regretted it: "I shouldn't have punished this child. She has her own ideas just like her mother."
"Okay, okay, there's no point in worrying," her husband comforted her. "Let's look around first. Maybe he's just angry and hiding."
"Mom," Xia Yue asked worriedly, "Will it be expensive to take the train to Beijing?"
"What did you say?" Wang Yao asked. "What Beijing?"
Jin Lu also began to worry: "We saw a route to Beijing on her computer. Could she be going to Beijing to visit her relatives?"
The family rushed to the train station, but the train to Beijing had already left. Wang Yao almost fainted. After returning home, she rested well and woke up, and quickly found a phone number in Beijing.
Jin Lu and Xia Yue stood aside and listened to her talk on the phone.
"Hello, is this Mu Zi'an? I'm Wang Yao. The thing is, Ouyang Zishan, the child of Mu Zishan and Ouyang Yusheng, has gone to Beijing. Yes, she didn't let me tell you about this child. Well, she's already twelve years old, and we're worried that she's gone to Beijing alone and no one is looking after her. Can you help us find her? Yes, she left on today's train."
After hanging up the phone, she called Zhuo Qiang again: "Hello, this is Wang Yao."
"Wang Yao?" The other party was surprised to receive her call. "What's going on?"
"It's like this, Mu Zishan has a twelve-year-old daughter."
"She has a daughter? Is it her and Ouyang Yu's daughter?"
"Yes, her name is Ouyang Zishan. Her mother entrusted her to me before she left. Some time ago, Mu Zishan sent back a suicide note, which might have scared the child. She is now on her way to Beijing."
"Suicide note? Where is Mu Zishan now?" The other party felt heartbroken again.
"She's probably not doing well, but she hasn't told us where she is," Wang Yao said earnestly. "This child has her own ideas. I'm afraid she'll find the courtyard on her own. When we meet, could you please keep her for now?"
"Okay." In the office, he hung up the phone and waved for his secretary to come in. "Go to the courtyard and help me keep an eye on it. If a little girl around twelve years old comes, keep her."
"yes."
He leaned back in his chair. Mu Zishan had disappeared for so many years, but he didn't expect that she actually left behind a child. He had warned her that Ouyang Yusheng would destroy her, but she still chose to be with him and they had a daughter.
Wang Yao was relieved. Since she was a child, she had never wanted people in Beijing to know of her existence. She wanted Mu Zishan to let her grow up carefree, but things never developed in the direction they hoped.
