Waiting outside the yard, Ouyang Zishan folded his arms and kicked the snow off the ground. After waiting for about half an hour, he finally saw them get out of the car.
"Godmother! Godfather!" It has been almost half a year since he last saw them, and Ouyang Zishan missed them so much.
"What about us?" Xia Yue said from behind.
"My two brothers, I really miss you so much." She went over and hugged them together.
"Everyone, come in quickly," Aunt Lin said at the door, "It's too cold outside."
Wang Yao went over and hugged Aunt Lin: "Aunt Lin, long time no see."
"haven't seen you for a long time."
This was the first time that Ouyang Zishan's godfather drove here. He looked around and found that although the house exuded a modern design atmosphere everywhere, the main structure of the house was preserved, which had a unique flavor.
Ouyang Zishan stood next to Xia Yue and found that he was as tall as himself: "Have you been secretly drinking a lot of milk recently? How come you are growing so fast?"
Xia Yue smiled complacently: "This is called overtaking on a curve."
"Come on," Ouyang Zishan couldn't stand his smug look, "I'll take you to see my room."
Jin Lu and Xia Yue followed her, listening to her constantly emphasize that the person living here was her mother. They looked at each other and asked, "Aren't you going to live with us?"
She hesitated again because this room had a different meaning to her.
"Isn't the old house in Chongqing also left by your mother?" said Xia Yue.
"That's different." Although it was where her mother had lived, it was different. No one knew about the old house, and she had never heard anyone talk about the story of living there.
Xia Yue shook her head. She really had no way out because her logic was always different from that of others.
She also took them to visit the greenhouse and the antique room in another house.
The two boys had a feast for their eyes. Returning to the living room, they saw the game controller next to the TV and began playing. They hadn't expected the game software to be so advanced. It even had new versions of games they hadn't even finished, as well as some newly developed games that hadn't yet been released to the market.
"Uncle Zhuo has a game company. Whatever you want to play, you can find it here." Ouyang Zishan said proudly while sitting on the sofa.
Wang Yao and Aunt Lin were preparing dinner in the kitchen. Zhuo Qiang had already gone on a business trip the day before they arrived, and would not arrive until tonight at the earliest.
The godfather asked Ouyang Zishan to sit next to him and reminded her quietly: "Your godmother will definitely talk about your filming in a while, so you should be mentally prepared."
She swallowed. Her godmother had the worst temper in the family. Even though she acted so amiable now, she would definitely grab Ouyang Zishan and talk to him endlessly at night.
Seeing that she was a little nervous, her godfather called Xia Yue over and said, "Xia Yue, if Mommy keeps talking, just say you're sleepy and want to go home early, okay?"
Xia Yue looked at Ouyang Zishan, understood her father's intention, and nodded.
The family sat in the living room for dinner. Ouyang Zishan sat next to Wang Yao, head bowed, avoiding eye contact. Just as everyone was beginning to feel the atmosphere grow a bit strange, Zhuo Qiang rushed back in. Aunt Lin took his coat and went to prepare a new set of dishes.
Ouyang Zishan felt like he had found his savior, and quickly said in a flattering manner: "Uncle Zhuo, let me introduce you. This is my godfather, and I have two older brothers, Jin Lu and Xia Yue."
"I've heard Ouyang mention you guys a long time ago," Zhuo Qiang sat down and looked at them. "I'm sorry I couldn't come pick you up in person because I had something to do today."
"Mr. Zhuo, you're too polite," said the godfather. "Our child has been bothering you for so long. We should have come to visit earlier. It's rude of us to wait until now."
Ouyang Zishan coughed and said, "Well, I'm full." Her godmother hadn't said anything, which made her feel a little nervous.
"Stand still," Wang Yao said loudly, "Ouyang, let me ask you, why did you enter the entertainment industry?"
Zhuo Qiang wanted to help her explain, but Wang Yao retorted: "Mr. Zhuo, please don't express your opinion yet."
So Zhuo Qiang gave Ouyang Zishan a look that told him to fend for himself and started eating by himself.
"Godmother, I didn't enter the entertainment industry."
"Then what's with you being in these recent movies and TV shows? Don't tell me it's just for fun."
"Just playing." She lowered her head and looked at her fingers.
"How did you learn not to tell the truth, kid?" Wang Yao shouted, "If you don't explain yourself clearly today, I'll waste my time here with you."
Her godmother's seriousness really frightened her, and Xia Yue quickly said, "Mom, when are we going back?"
"You stay aside."
"Okay." Xia Yue could only shut up.
Zhuo Qiang lost interest in eating and took Xia Yue to the living room for tea. The two children played chess to the side, occasionally glancing at the two people in the dining room.
Ouyang Zishan whispered, "I want my parents to see me." Her tears were about to fall.
Of course Wang Yao heard what she said, but she couldn't say anything else. She helped Aunt Lin tidy up the table first, leaving her standing there alone to reflect on herself.
Wang Yao sat across from her and said to her earnestly, "You know, Godmother doesn't want you to hang out in that kind of circle. Putting aside whether they all have their own agendas, let me ask you, what do you rely on to compete with them? Just relying on Zhuo Qiang? Can you rely on him forever? No. Godmother hopes that you can graduate from college successfully, acquire a skill, and live on your own. When you grow up, you can go wherever you want, without any constraints."
