After the godmother and godfather sent the whole family away and returned home, they saw the three children lying comfortably on the sofa watching TV. They did not disturb them and returned to their own room.
"No, I want to watch cartoons." Ouyang Zishan and Jin Lu fought for the remote control.
"It's being broadcast live now. Let me finish watching the game first and I'll give it back to you after that." Jin Lu wanted to watch a basketball game.
"Science Channel! Science Channel!" Xia Yue knocked on the sofa, "Just watch this." Because the two people were fighting for it, his favorite channel happened to be played.
The Spring Festival soon ended with such playfulness. The time for the two of them to leave for Tibet was getting closer and closer. The godmother went to the supermarket to buy a lot of things and also asked them to bring oxygen tanks.
It was a sunny day, and the two were taken to the airport. They hugged each other. Xia Yue was the one who was most reluctant to leave them, but he was born with weak lungs and was not suitable for traveling to such a place.
Wang Yao kept reminding them to be careful. Only after they entered the passage did she lie in her husband's arms, reluctant to let them be so far away from her.
On the plane, what Ouyang Zishan and Jin Lu didn't expect was that Ren Qi was sitting right in front of them.
"Are we being followed by him?" Ouyang Zishan said to Jin Lu.
"I don't know. I'll go over and ask later." After the plane took off and gradually stabilized, he walked over and chatted with Ren Qi.
"What's going on?" Ouyang Zishan was anxious to know why he met him on the same plane.
"He said he was going to ask for blessings from Grandpa."
"Praying for blessings?" She remembered. "Oh, Tibet is a place of pilgrimage. It seems he is really worried about his grandfather."
The two of them also closed their eyes and fell asleep, waiting to see the beautiful scenery after getting off the airport.
After getting off the plane, they went straight to the accommodation Wang Yao had arranged for them. It was a farmhouse inn, full of local cultural specialties. Ouyang Zishan wasn't particularly interested, but Jin Lu, a painter, loved the place and captured every detail with his camera.
The locals said Tibet was a good place for stargazing because the light pollution was not as severe as in other places. Following their suggestion, the two of them decided to go stargazing as their first itinerary.
On a cold night, they huddled together to keep warm. When they woke up the next day, they found that everything they had was gone, even the money for a taxi ride home.
"What should we do?" Ouyang Zishan asked him. They had nothing now. It would take an hour to go back by car. If they walked back now, they didn't know how long it would take.
"We can only hitchhike." They walked on the street, waving to people on the street from time to time, but not many cars would stop, and most people were unwilling to let them ride for free.
Their luck was indeed bad, so they could only move forward. They passed by a few houses on the way, and they were kind enough to give them some food.
Finally, they relied on an old farmer who asked his son who was driving to take them back.
Arriving at the accommodation, the two tired people fell asleep immediately and didn't call home until the evening. Fortunately, they didn't bring all their belongings with them when they went out last time, so the godmother asked the owner of the B&B to take care of them.
So, the owner of the B&B took them to a nearby mall and bought them two new phones and backpacks. Along the way, the owner emphasized that the two children should not go out alone in the future, and he would arrange for a local guide to take them to appreciate the scenery of Tibet.
The place they most want to go is of course the Potala Palace, which is an extremely sacred place.
Such a magnificent building appeared before their eyes. Ouyang Zishan was busy taking photos of the beautiful scenery, while Jin Lu insisted on making her own pen and ink sketch. With the guide's introduction, she went to the most famous snack bar nearby and waited there peacefully.
After lunch, they went to the grasslands and sampled local delicacies. Ouyang Zishan was indeed very lazy. Once she arrived at a place, she didn't want to travel long distances to other places. She always preferred to go to other places when she got tired of seeing something. To accommodate her, Jin Lu decided to stay on the grasslands for a few days and persuaded the tour guide not to take them with him anymore.
Although the tour guide was worried about them, he still thought that the locals were very nice. Their enthusiasm towards foreign tourists was enough for them to visit every attraction.
Although Wang Yao in Beijing did not quite agree with them not using the tour guide's help, she still respected their decision.
In this way, their time became equally free. Ouyang Zishan had time to take photos, and Jin Lu also had time to paint some landscapes.
As the sun set, Ouyang Zishan took a thick coat from the tent and draped it over Jin Lu, admiring his masterpiece. "Brother, I always thought you would be an excellent pianist, but now it seems you might also be an excellent painter."
"Yeah?"
"But I think landscapes are better painted with oils, because they have a sense of color."
"Next time I pass by the market, I can buy some paint," he agreed with Ouyang Zishan's suggestion, "and then I will paint a couple of paintings."
"You draw, I take pictures, and we divide the work."
The smell of barbecue wafted from the tent. Jin Lu suddenly hugged his sketchbook and ran into the hall, heading for the barbecue. In the fight between the two, a plate of freshly grilled mutton was completely devoured by them. The proprietress came in with other dishes and smiled: "We grilled a fat one today, enough for you guys."
They rarely eat such delicious lamb, and the proprietress said that their craftsmanship has been passed down for generations. Ouyang Zishan believes that only these classic and delicious delicacies can withstand the turmoil of historical change.
