Ren Qi said that his grandfather's disease was incurable, but no matter what, he would do his best to help him realize his wish.
"Ren Qi, according to you, is it your grandfather who wanted to come to Tibet?" Ouyang Zishan asked.
"Well," Ren Qi said to her, "Grandpa and grandma met here before, and later my father was born. Grandma is from here, and Grandpa has always hoped that he could come back with her to visit, but their health does not allow them to travel long distances."
Ouyang Zishan never expected this to be such a love story. This place suddenly felt like a paradise, separated from the outside world. No one could disturb the lives of the people here. They were free, innocent, kind, and brave.
Ren Qi said, "I think I'll go to Mount Everest before I go back."
"Mount Everest?" they both said at the same time.
"Are you crazy? That's the roof of the world!" Jin Lu didn't think he could climb up there. "It's okay to just take a look."
"I've decided to go up there," Ren Qi said firmly. "I'll set off tomorrow."
Ouyang Zishan, you disagree with his decision: "Now is not the best time to climb the mountain."
"I have promised my grandfather that I will take pictures of the most beautiful scenery on the roof of the world."
They had always thought he was just bragging, but the next day, he actually packed up his belongings and prepared to leave. After spending a few days with Ren Qi, Ouyang Zishan and Jin Lu had both changed some of their prejudices against him. As if caring about a friend, they wouldn't let Ren Qi take this risk alone. They decided to go too, so they could at least help each other.
Climbing Mount Everest requires teamwork. We found a few experienced climbers at the foot of Mount Everest, and under their guidance, we prepared everything and arrived at one of the camps.
At the camp, they will choose the best time to climb the mountain.
On the night of their departure, the three of them encouraged each other. Following those experienced people, they seemed much more relaxed, but the thin oxygen forced them to replenish oxygen all the time.
They barely had time to talk. Apart from some drinks to replenish their energy, no one could eat anything. They went up one after another. Jin Lu, who was walking behind Ouyang Zishan, caught her gradually falling body: "Ouyang? What's wrong with you?"
She shook her head: "It's okay, Mei, keep moving forward."
Ren Qi, who was walking in front, also helped Ouyang Zishan reach the top. In this way, the group moved forward step by step and finally reached the top.
The three people were very excited. They hugged each other. During the climb, they relied on each other and no one gave up. It was their courage that allowed them to reach the highest peak.
For the first time, Ouyang Zishan felt proud of herself. She cried tears of joy. Jin Lu and Ren Qi hugged each other. They took care of each other along the way, especially when Ouyang Zishan fell. He held her hand and avoided danger.
After a brief moment of admiration, they descended the mountain one after another, their faces filled with joy. They stayed in the camp for a few more days, building new shelters with those who remained. In the hardship, they forgot all their fatigue.
Before school started, they returned home, where their family was already waiting for them outside the airport. They allowed them to leave through another exit and rush to the hospital.
In the car, Wang Yao looked at the two children. She had only learned about the Everest climb yesterday. Fortunately, neither child had any accidents. Trying not to appear serious, she asked them very gently, "I heard from your dad that you climbed Mount Everest. Do you have any photos?"
The godfather stuck out his tongue and said, "The kids called me when they went upstairs. We didn't tell you because we were afraid you'd worry." He shook his wife's hand and said, "Don't be angry."
"I'm not angry. I just want to see what Mount Everest looks like." Wang Yao rolled her eyes at her. "Am I such an unenlightened mother in your eyes?"
"Godmother, this is for you!" Ouyang Zishan took out a camera from his bag. "I took all the photos of the Mount Everest scene."
Xia Yue looked at Ouyang Zishan: "When did you start calling him brother?" Ouyang Zishan only called them brother when he was young. Later, when he grew up and knew that he was not his mother's biological child, he was unwilling to teach them brother and just called them by their names. "Then you have to call me brother."
"No way." He couldn't convince her to call him brother.
"Oh, if I had known earlier, I would have gone there too. At least I could have brought back a sister like my brother." After saying that, he curiously moved closer to his mother who was sitting in front of him and looked at the photos they took in Tibet.
Wang Yao was very pleased to see that the relationship between the two siblings was much better than before. In the parking lot, Xia Yue and her father carried all the things, while her mother held several finished oil paintings and kept praising her eldest son.
Ouyang Zishan and Jin Lu were walking in front, and no one knew what they were talking about.
"Dad, why do I feel like the two of us have become their coolies?" Xia Yue said dissatisfiedly.
"We're a family, how could we be forced to work?" Dad said with a hint of sarcasm. "You're jealous that your brother and sister get along so well, right?"
"How could that be?" Xia Yue said with disdain, "I'm not jealous. Ouyang is so rude."
"Really?" Dad thought for a moment, "Then who was it that urged them to come back a few days ago?"
"Dad, who are you on the same side with?" Xia Yue paused, "I don't think I'm your biological child."
"Okay, just a few more steps and we'll be home soon."
Xia Yue followed reluctantly. After finally moving all the things into the elevator, she found something stuck in the elevator door and had to give up and take the next one.
