Ouyang Zishan looked at them and asked, "Do you know each other?"
Mu Zishan looked at Ouyang Zishan and thought her eyes looked very much like Ouyang Yusheng's: "This girl?"
"She is your daughter, Ouyang Zishan."
Mu Zishan reached out and touched her face, and she was a little surprised.
"It's okay, she's your mother."
Ouyang Zishan calmed down and called out, "Mom."
The three of them returned to their residence, and Ouyang Zishan poured them some tea. Listening to their conversation, he was able to determine his original life experience.
"Because of the car accident, she has changed a lot," said Jin Lu.
"It's really hard for you," Mu Zishan held Jin Lu's hand, "If it weren't for you, I don't think I would have been able to see my child in this life."
"Auntie, do you remember the letter you sent us?" Jin Lu said, "We all thought you were dead." He felt he shouldn't have said such a thing and apologized, "I'm sorry."
"It doesn't matter," she explained. "I was literally on the verge of death."
At the time, Mu Zishan was extremely frail and lay in a hospital bed. Later, a local doctor, impressed by her youth and her reputation within the tribe, brought her to a tribal elder, who revived her using their most ancient healing techniques. From then on, she began working for the well-being of the tribe, bringing in public education and charitable organizations and improving their infrastructure. Later, she assisted local lawyers with investigations, eventually becoming a detective herself, helping solve numerous homicide cases.
In the eyes of white people, she is a detective, but in the eyes of local people, she is a police officer, so they ask her for help whenever they have any problems. The local rulers also awarded her some honors, but because she did not care about these fame and fortune, she has always been a detective.
"Auntie, I didn't expect that Ouyang inherited his talent from you." Jin Lu said.
"Mom, what about Dad?"
She thought for a moment, maybe it was time to tell the child about his father: "He's in England. If you want to meet him, I can tell you his address."
"Why did you break up?" Ouyang Zishan asked her, "Don't you miss them?"
"I thought so at first," she answered bluntly, "but gradually, I realized that your father and I are from two different worlds. Even if we met, what would it matter? He has his mission, and I have mine."
"Then why did you give birth to me?"
"My child, when you understand that loving someone is not about possessing everything about him, but about letting go and giving him freedom, you won't ask this question anymore."
Jin Lu seemed to understand Mu Zishan's feelings. The fact that she could give birth to a child for Ouyang Yusheng proved that they loved the place very much, but they were not bound to each other because of their love.
Ouyang Zishan looked at them, and it was a kind of satisfaction for her mother to appear in her life. At night, the two of them slept together. Perhaps Ouyang Zishan was afraid that he would forget her after waking up, so he hugged Mu Zishan's waist tightly.
The next day, Mu Zishan got up very early and shared her thoughts with Jin Lu: "When she wakes up later, there's no need to let her know who I am. It's more important for her to live a happy life than for her to be my daughter."
Jin Lu looked at such a great mother. She was really a person who never possessed anything.
Ouyang Zishan got up and saw Jin Lu and Mu Zishan in the living room. He said, "Jin Lu, your friends are here so early?"
Mu Zishan looked at Jin Lu and said, "Well, let's talk about painting."
"Then you continue." She went back to the room.
When Mu Zishan left, he gave Jin Lu his email address and phone number, but did not say goodbye to Ouyang Zishan. After sending Mu Zishan off, he went to Ouyang Zishan's room, hugged her, and whispered in her ear: "Let's leave for England tomorrow."
"Okay!" She turned and looked into his eyes. "Why is your heart beating so fast?"
He stood up and looked at her nervously: "Maybe it was the cup of coffee just now."
Ouyang Zishan smiled and said, "Why, aren't you my boyfriend?"
From that moment on, she remembered one more thing: her boyfriend was Jin Ru, Jin Ru was her boyfriend.
After a long flight, they arrived in England. The weather in England was a bit damp and cold, so he put his leather jacket on Ouyang Zishan. The hotel he had booked in advance was not far from the address Mu Zishan had given them.
In order to appear less abrupt, he found a historian who knew the castle well. With his introduction, he brought Ouyang Zishan into the castle that existed centuries ago in the guise of a painter.
When the housekeeper took them to the hall, Ouyang Zishan seemed a little nervous, because Jin Lu had told her in advance that the person living here was the father she had been looking for for a long time.
Ouyang Yusheng, who had just gotten up, walked into the living room. He was wearing a black suit and looked to be in his twenties. However, there was a hint of worry on his face.
"Hello, Mr. Ouyang!" Jin Lu shook hands with him.
Ouyang Yusheng treated Ouyang Zishan with British etiquette, looked her up and down, and then said, "I also have a few of your paintings. I think the backs of the people you painted are this young girlfriend."
"Indeed," Jin Lu said, "This is my girlfriend Ouyang Zishan."
Ouyang Yusheng smiled when he heard her name. Ouyang Zishan looked at his expression and realized that he had recognized her when he came in. But why didn't he admit it to himself?
