Chapter 9: Finding the Child

Mu Zishan's analysis was correct. During this period, many strangers were entering and leaving the community, which provided them with convenience. However, it was not easy to easily take a child out of the community, unless the child voluntarily followed them. Sure enough, the girl went out with a little boy.

"Have you seen this child?" Mu Zishan asked.

"Uh," Wang Yaoyao nodded. There was a slide downstairs for children to play on, and almost all the children in the community would go there to play, but she didn't know the child. "Maybe he came here with the adults to pay New Year's greetings."

"But only one child was lost in the community that day." This makes sense. The little girl was indeed abducted, so there must be a car somewhere that the surveillance camera can't see to pick her up.

It was Lu Yang's turn now. He was a brilliant hacker, and within a day, he had retrieved the same surveillance footage from the neighborhood. Mu Zishan gave him a cup of coffee and watched carefully.

"If I could increase the speed of my computer, I would be able to get this data faster." Lu Yang said confidently. He knew a lot about games and programming, but his ability to obtain other people's data was not enough.

"Found it!" Mu Zishan magnified a license plate number and found the direction he left from the satellite map. "Suburbs!"

They arrived at a small river, surrounded by various coal enterprises. They continued along the river until they saw a road with various tire tracks. Lu Yang also observed the surroundings. Not far away was a garbage dump, emitting a disgusting odor.

"What did you find?"

"We'll have to wait a moment." She found a bush. "What are you standing there for? Come here."

Lu Yang went over and squatted beside her. After waiting for about an hour, several cars drove over, loaded with all kinds of garbage. However, they did not go directly to the landfill, but went to a small house next to the factory first.

"Hey!" Lu Yang followed Mu Zishan who was running forward, gradually approaching the smelly cars.

"So this is it." When the car stopped, Mu Zishan took a few photos, then ran over unnoticed. Through the damaged wall, he spotted the children inside. One of them was Wang Yao's neighbor. Lu Yang hid nearby and called the police. He saw a man emerge from the building and quickly pulled her into the gap between two houses.

"Shh!" The man passed by them, urinated, got into the car, said something to the people next to him, then stuffed the children into the car one by one, and they were going to leave.

A man inside was shouting insults, and there were various banging sounds. While they were trying to figure it out, Mu Zishan jumped into one of the cars and signaled them to be quiet. Lu Yang followed, hiding behind the largest garbage bag. In the darkness, no one noticed their presence. Soon they were on the highway. From the bumpy ride, she could tell they had chosen a mountain road instead of the main one.

As she waited quietly, she felt a little anxious. The other two cars separated from them at different forks in the road. This meant that as long as one car was discovered first, the other two cars would notice it, and the people in the cars would be in danger. They had to convey this message.

"No signal," Lu Yang looked at his phone, "I can't send the message."

Mu Zishan looked around. It was almost dawn. They would definitely need to rest during the day, and her mind began to race.

The car stopped again, and the three cars appeared together again. Mu Zishan and Lu Yang jumped out of the car and hid in the bushes. When they went to sleep and rest, the children were locked in the room. The timid children kept crying, and the brave children banged on the doors and windows.

They secretly put nails in the tires of both cars, and when they set off again, not long after, both cars had tires blown out, forcing everyone to get on the same car. This not only ensured the safety of the children, but also bought time for the police.

Mu Zishan and Lu Yang hid in the same car with a flat tire. Cold and hungry, they jumped out while no one was watching. Winter nights always fall early, and their message had already been sent out, so the children should have been rescued.

Lu Yang followed her to the main road, took off his coat, and tried to hail a car. But after waiting for a long time, he found nothing except the sparrow above his head.

"Do you know the way back?" Lu Yang asked Mu Zishan, who was walking in front. "Then how did you know to go this way?"

"intuition!"

"Intuition?" Lu Yang sighed, "Only a fool like you would believe in intuition." He took out his cell phone, but it was already out of battery.

The two people walked forward like this, and the moon seemed to take pity on them, shining through the clouds to illuminate the road.

Mu Zishan's leg was scratched when she jumped out of the car. She had no strength left and was carried forward by Lu Yang.

"I didn't expect you to be so heavy." Lu Yang joked.

"I'm not a feather, of course I have weight." Mu Zishan pushed back.

Lu Yang smiled. It was the first time she had spoken to him like this. They didn't know how long they had been walking, but finally a car showed up.

The next day, Mu Zishan and Lu Yang woke up in the hospital. When they opened their eyes and saw each other's miserable appearance, they both laughed. Who would have known what they had done?

Wang Yao was the most surprised. She learned that her neighbor's child had been rescued by the police and excitedly sent her a message. Although she didn't know the details, she believed that Mu Zishan had contributed to it. She boasted about this to her brother on the phone for a long time because at least he admitted that she had detective analysis skills.

Before school started, Mu Zibai and his friends went to Tibet and brought her a gift. He personally prepared a sumptuous meal that day and even invited Brother Meng to come along. He had no idea what had happened in the basement.

When she was about to take the high school entrance exam, her brother took all her test scores, frowned tightly, and shook his head repeatedly: "From a genetic point of view, you are a complete mutant."

Mu Zishan tried hard to control himself from losing his temper because of his self-defeating words. He grinned and said with the most pleasing expression: "Maybe!

"At this rate, getting into a good high school won't be a problem, let alone the college entrance exam," he said, putting down his transcript. "Come with me to England in a few days. We'll find a school there. It'll definitely help improve your English."

This was the first time Mu Zishan had heard her brother talk about going abroad. Later, she learned that he had received this opportunity long before in school. Studying in the UK might be a good thing for him. Later, they packed up their belongings and left.
