She blinked her eyes, looking at this somewhat unfamiliar man, remembering the photo of him she had seen on the photo wall at home when she had just come out. His image suddenly flashed through her mind: "Godfather!"
"Ah, yes." Xia Yu didn't notice her change, thinking that Jin Lu had told her who he was before she left. "Remember to come back early."
She boarded a bus outside and unknowingly walked to the nursing home. She saw some people there, walked over, and sat among them. She could feel that she and they were the same kind of people. Some of them even remembered their families, while others didn't know who they were.
The nurse came over and saw Ouyang Zishan: "Miss, are you a volunteer?"
"Ah!" The other person's eyes were firm, indicating that she hoped she would be a volunteer.
"Can you help me take care of this old man?" She held an old man's hand and looked in front of her.
"Of course." She took the old man and looked at the tag on his chest: Ren Feng, 82 years old, Alzheimer's disease, contact number 185XXXXXXXX.
"Grandpa," Ouyang Zishan took him to the garden and asked him to sit on a chair, "You don't even know your own name?"
"I know, I know," he said with some dissatisfaction, "of course I know."
"What's your name?"
"My name is, my name is..." He stuttered a little.
Ouyang Zishan felt that he and Ouyang Zishan were destined to be together, so he took him to a nearby store, bought him his favorite ice cream, and took him to the children's park next door. The two of them seemed to have found a partner, relying on each other as they turned from one slide to another.
When he arrived at the nursing home, he didn't see his grandfather in the room or in the garden, so he asked the nurse: "Where is the patient in bed 1?"
"Oh, a volunteer just took him to the garden. Go and take a look." The nurse said, seeing that he was a little anxious.
"I've already gone there, and there's no one."
"That's impossible. I just handed it to that volunteer myself," the nurse thought for a moment. "Could it be that she isn't a volunteer?"
"How could you just leave grandpa to a stranger?" Ren Qi lost his temper. "Go find him quickly."
"Mr. Ren, don't worry, I'll notify the security department to look for him." The nurse was frightened by him and quickly called the security department.
Ren Qi went to the supermarket to look around again, and asked the owner of the ice cream shop that his grandfather loved. He was told that there was indeed a girl who brought an old man to buy ice cream there. He told him that the girl and the old man walked towards the park next to them.
The security department began searching the park and found them at the swing area. Ren Qi rushed behind them and saw Grandpa and Ouyang Zishan next to him: "It's her!"
The security personnel were about to step forward, but were stopped by Ren Qi: "No need, I know that girl."
The nurse who had just lost Grandpa also rushed over and said breathlessly: "It's her, it's her, you guys catch her quickly, she's not a volunteer."
"She is my friend. Everything is fine now. You can go back. I'll watch over here." Ren Qi said again.
The nurse was a little surprised, but still respected his wishes and left with the security personnel.
Their behavior made Ouyang Zishan suspicious. She whispered in her grandfather's ear: "Grandpa, how about I take you boating?"
"Okay, okay." Grandpa slid down the swing, followed Ouyang Zishan, held her hand, and walked towards the lake.
Ran Qi followed them and got on their boat when Ouyang Zishan was not paying attention. The two looked at him strangely. Grandpa pointed at the person sitting behind Ouyang Zishan and asked, "Who is he?"
She looked at him, frowned, and said rudely, "Sir, you have been with us for so long, what's the matter?"
He was a little disappointed: "I just want to help you row the boat."
She came up with an idea: "Then we have to work harder."
"Can."
Ouyang Zishan didn't move the oars at all, and the boat moved slowly with Ren Qi leaning against it. Ouyang Zishan was talking to his grandfather. They were discussing the scenery by the lake and the people on the other boats, but they didn't pay any attention to Ren Qi.
He looked at the old man and the young, one was his closest relative, the other was the woman he loved most, but they both forgot him, as if they had abandoned him alone from their world.
He had restrained himself from asking about her life because he didn't want her to be like her grandfather, looking at him blankly. He couldn't bear such a blow. He still had a job and couldn't take care of them all the time. It was the best choice for Ouyang Zishan to stay with her family. Even though Jin Lu's feelings for her had gone beyond brotherly love, he believed that one day she would remember everything that happened with him in the past, and when that happened, she would come back to him.
"Why are you so slow?" Ouyang Zishan was dissatisfied with the boatman's slowness. "We need to go back."
"Oh." He rowed the boat back and hit the buffer zone on the small dock. Ouyang Zishan fell into his arms. It was a momentary contact. Ouyang Zishan helped his grandfather ashore and took him back to the nursing home. He began to talk to his friends and forgot about them.
Ouyang Zishan took a taxi and left. She looked at Ren Qi who was still standing next to her grandfather. He was looking at her. She was a little confused, but still left quickly.
She returned home and happened to meet Jin Lu outside the community. She ran up to him and put her arm around his neck: "Why are you here?"
"I'm waiting for you," he said, carrying her on his back, "I'm afraid you won't know the way home."
