"Look somewhere else," Ouyang Zishan did not answer his question, "Yes, it's here."
The others in the monitoring room looked at Shan Cong. When had their boss ever been so neglected, let alone by a girl? She had already found several natural spots, each of which was placed next to famous paintings, famous porcelain, and various antiques. It was obvious that they were not going for the ancient buildings, but wanted to obtain these valuable antiques.
"The surveillance didn't notice anything unusual," she said, pacing the surveillance room. She recalled the exit she had just sneaked in from. It was a designated visitor exit, so there were no security checks. If someone wanted to bring a self-igniting device in without being noticed, they could enter through that exit. Normally, people wouldn't be allowed back in after exiting, but if there were mischievous children, they could leave and, since their parents were still inside, they could be escorted back in through that exit by staff.
And the height of the exit is just enough to provide space for a child to go out.
"Look for any children who have been in and out recently, especially those who were accompanied by staff, and find out if they came in alive from the exit."
They began to search, and indeed there was a child, but he had indeed been taken to his parents. Shan Cong looked at him and asked, "What's the problem?"
She rewound the surveillance footage and discovered that an old man had interacted with the child and even took something from the child's hat. "Find him!" Ouyang Zishan said to Shan Cong, "But he most likely came in disguise."
"Take action," Shan Cong ordered, "We must retrieve those authentic items."
Ouyang Zishan smiled and said, "If nothing unexpected happens, those things should be in a trash can. If we don't hurry up, they will be taken away." It is now past eight o'clock. Because of the big fire here this morning, the garbage truck must not enter. But at nine o'clock, everyone will officially go to work, and the garbage must be collected before then to create a clean working environment.
Everyone went to look for the nearby barrels, and sure enough, there were a few antiques in them, but they hadn't found everything yet. Nine o'clock had passed, and the garbage truck had been checked by them, so they had to let them leave.
Ouyang Zishan came out at this time: "Wait a minute." He went to the end of the garbage dump, used a flatbed truck to get to the bottom of the car, and found the most valuable painting.
The driver was restrained by the police: "It doesn't matter!"
She handed the paintings in her hand to Shan Cong: "The rest is up to you." Her main purpose this time was to find these paintings, and she didn't care about anything else.
"Not bad," Shan Cong said, "Do you mind if I buy you a cup of coffee?"
"Don't you need to stay and continue investigating the case?" she said. "Those people haven't been caught yet? You don't think it was the driver who did it, do you?"
"Of course we have to investigate the case, but we also have to drink coffee," he said with a cunning look. "Are you afraid of me?"
"I'm afraid of you?" she scoffed. "Just now when I passed by, I saw a coffee shop. Let's go there."
She sat in his car and soon arrived at the nearest coffee shop. The two of them casually ordered two cups of coffee. Shan Cong asked the waiter to bring paper and pen and drew a map for her: "Tell me about your ideas." He drew the entire layout of the building, even remembering every camera very clearly.
This made Ouyang Zi look at her with a new respect: "You are indeed a veteran police officer."
"Speak!"
"Every painting is marked. If you want to get out without being inspected, there's only one possibility: using trash. Didn't you notice that the actual construction area was cleared before the fire broke out?"
"Then why bring out that kid?"
"It's simple, make a feint to the east and attack in the west!"
"You think it's the staff..."
"That's right," she explained. "You guys are really high-profile. If you don't make some noise, how can you lure them out? Tell them to find out who has the scratched hand. He's the accomplice."
Shan Cong sent a message, and the two chatted for a while, finishing their coffee: "Are you interested in me introducing you to some friends?"
"No thanks." Friends were indeed impossible for her now. Who would want to be friends with someone who couldn't even remember their name? "I think I have to go back."
However, the people he was talking about had already arrived, one woman and two men, who looked to be about the same age as Ouyang Zishan.
"Boss!" they greeted him. "What's the matter with you calling us here?"
"I heard there was a fire this morning. Has it been investigated?" the woman asked.
"Do you need our help?" a man wearing glasses asked, "We haven't received any missions in a long time."
They seemed not to notice Ouyang Zishan sitting next to them, and were only focused on talking to Officer Shan.
"Okay, let me introduce you to Ouyang Zishan, who will be your partner from now on," he pointed at Ouyang Zishan, "Ouyang, this is Linglong, Fenwu, and Dongya, let's get to know each other."
Only then did a few people notice Ouyang Zishan sitting at the far end. Fenwu stared at her without blinking. He had never seen such a beautiful woman before: "Boss, where did you find such a beautiful woman?"
"She will be your boss from now on," Shan Cong said, "You will listen to her in everything."
"What? Let her be the boss? How old is she?" Linglong asked dissatisfiedly.
"If I remember correctly, she should be almost nineteen," he explained. "Of course, there's a reason why we made her your boss. She took less than half an hour to investigate the inside story of this fire. I don't think any of you could be faster than her."
