Chapter 92: Basement

But the bomb was embedded in the table, connected to it by a wire. This method wouldn't work, and if the bomb delayed exploding in the air, it would be a threat to those on the ground. She could only take a gamble and shorten one of the detonating wires.

The other three people lay on the ground. The bomb did not explode. Time stopped. Linglong called the police. The three people went downstairs, put on sunglasses, and in the chaotic scene, a car stopped in front of them.

"Get in the car!" Shan Cong called them.

The four of them got into the car, and Fenwu protested, "Officer Shan, you just separated us, there's no need to be so heartless."

"They actually planted a bomb! If it weren't for Ouyang Zishan, we would all be dead."

"Dongya, why don't you say anything?" Shan Cong looked at him. "Are you as dissatisfied as they are?"

"No!" he replied. "I suppose you have your own ideas?"

"It's very simple. In a word, you are no longer members of the bureau." He turned around and said, "You can't trust anyone, including me."

"What about our wages?"

"Then it's up to you guys."

When Ouyang Zishan got in the car, they noticed a tracking device on his collar, but he seemed to have let them see it on purpose. Their direction seemed off, and they asked, "Is that the Public Security Bureau up ahead?"

The three of them became alert and broke out of the window together, jumping onto the road. Ouyang Zishan, who had fallen into the flower bed, went over to help Linglong up, and the four of them lay on the lawn.

Dongya fell and hurt his arm. Fenwu bandaged his arm with his own clothes and said, "We have to go to the hospital first."

The four men said they went to a nearby clinic, where a doctor fixed their arm. The TV news was reporting on the building's situation, and showed the four of them leaving the building.

They had to find a safe place first. Linglong had never understood why Shan Cong would frame them. She sat in the front of the taxi and took them to a basement. Although it was very small, it was very safe and no one knew about it. She cooked some food for everyone, and Fenwu moved the old piano that was not used in the middle of the room.

Dongya looked at his phone, thoughtful.

When the four of them sat together, Ouyang Zishan said, "It seems he doesn't want to give us any way out."

"Officer Shan turned out to be a good man," Linglong said. "It was because of him that I was able to move out of this basement."

"No one in the world is absolutely good." Fenwu angrily crushed the can.

"I think I can understand him," Dong Ya said. "He gave us this address, and those police officers went to such great lengths to get us out of jail. This is the promise he made to us."

"What about doubling the salary?" Linglong asked.

"We've come out, just like other investigative agencies," Dongya knocked on the floor, "the income isn't necessarily bad."

"Where's the equipment?"

Dong Ya looked at Ouyang Zishan: "Isn't she!"

The three people moved closer to her. They were really surprised by the strength this woman had just shown.

"What are you doing?" Ouyang Zishan stepped back.

"Boss!" Linglong pinched her shoulder, "The task of making money depends on you."

After what just happened, she didn't expect that after the police officer named Shan Cong tortured them so much, they still trusted him. It can be seen that they are very sentimental people. Although she still doesn't know what role the officer Shan they are talking about plays in this, she knows that these three people trust her.

Shan Cong returned to the office and received a call from his superiors, who were basically asking him to stop causing so much trouble. He called someone in and said, "Come with me to the archives later." The files of Linglong and the other two could not be left at the bureau to prevent them from being used by those with malicious intentions.

Today's events were also unexpected. The gang threatened the police station to hand over Linglong and the other two, giving them only an address. This was partly to ensure their safety, but also to use this opportunity to let the gang know they were no longer police officers, thus preventing further threats. The news that the police were hunting them must have reached the gang, and they would likely investigate their whereabouts. Shan Cong believed that with Ouyang Zishan's abilities, she would be able to resolve this matter.

The next day, the three people faced the same problem, and Ouyang Zishan couldn't remember what happened yesterday.

"My name is Linglong!"

"Fenwu!"

"Donya!"

Hungry, she sat with a bowl of instant noodles, her eyes a bit confused, leaving the three of them at a loss. They discussed a solution, and Dongya searched online for relevant information, looking at them helplessly: "There's no effective clinical drug yet."

"What about other methods? We can't just leave her like this forever," Linglong said. "How about this? We send her back. That way she'll be safe."

"No!" Fenwu strongly disagreed with her idea, "We are still waiting for her help."

"I have an idea," Dongya found a whiteboard and began to build a memory system. "As long as we record the important events that happen every day and build relevant relationships, she will be able to easily understand who we are, what we are doing, and what she needs to do."

"I think it's okay!" Fenwu agreed.

"Then give it a try." Lingling helped her tidy up her hair. "After all, we are all girls. You two grown men should go out and get us some living expenses."

Fenwu has always been very responsible, so of course he felt obligated to do it. However, Dongya never earned her own money, so when faced with this problem, she had no choice but to bite the bullet. They both put on their coats and went out, first to the supermarket and did some temporary work. When they returned to the basement that night, they found that Ouyang Zishan and Linglong were not there. They called them and found out that they were in the gambling house.
