Chapter 99 Winter

Ouyang Zishan is now under investigation alone at the police station. They are worried that she will not remember what she did last night at all. If someone frames her, it will be troublesome.

The three people came to the police station. The police who received them did not intend to let them meet Ouyang Zishan. Fenwu kicked the vase of flowers next to him in excitement and broke it.

Linglong could only apologize. Dongya stood aside, thought for a while, found a lawyer, and took herself to meet Ouyang Zishan first.

According to the police, Ouyang Zishan was indeed at the bar the previous night. The next morning, the deceased, along with the stabbed victim, was found in a private room by a cleaning lady, who called the police. When Ouyang Zishan was found, she was still holding the murder weapon.

Dongya emphasized Ouyang Zishan's condition and hoped to re-investigate the case. Dongya speculated that Ouyang Zishan did not have the strength to subdue a man twice her weight.

Ouyang Zishan sat across from him, listening to him speak a lot, including some descriptions of himself. Recalling the scene of waking up in the bar, the man next to him had been dead for more than six hours. Based on some of the information they said, she roughly understood the time she went in and out of the bar. From the time she entered the bar to when she was completely drunk, it took about an hour, which was exactly 11 o'clock in the evening. In other words, the man was murdered when she was drunk.

According to common sense, the drunk Ouyang Zishan was taken to the box by the man, who then tried to rape her, but was killed by her.

She moved her fingers, but there were no scratches or any residue from the nail clippings. Her dark eyes swiveled as she glanced at Dongya: "The private room wasn't the primary crime scene."

The lawyer looked at her in surprise, wondering if Ouyang Zishan really had amnesia.

Dong Ya understood what she meant, and the three of them went to the bar. After checking all the surveillance footage, they discovered that just before Ouyang Zishan stumbled into the private room, the victim had walked into the bar, ordered some drinks, and then went to the restroom, never to be seen again. The three of them went into the men's restroom, which had already been cleaned by the morning's clerk, leaving no trace.

Linglong stood outside and chatted with the cleaning lady for a while. She learned from her that she did smell a strange smell when she entered the men's restroom in the morning.

Linglong stood on each toilet in turn. On the innermost ceiling, she found some kind of burnt ash. Dongya went up to take a look, twisted it with his hands, and sniffed it. It was an anesthetic. Fenwu stood at the door and looked around. "How did the murderer get the victim into the box? We have too few clues now."

Dong Ya jumped down and imagined the scene at that time. In a bar, drunkards are the least likely to be discovered. If someone covered them at that time, they could also escape from the surveillance equipment.

"The most important thing now is to find evidence to prove that the deceased was not killed in the private room!" Linglong didn't want Ouyang Zishan to stay in the police station for another night.

They entered the private room. There were no signs of a fight in the small room. There were some wine stains on the sofa, pokers scattered on the floor, and some untouched fruits lying aside.

The deceased was no ordinary man, with a complex social background and a history of loan sharking. Anyone with a vested interest in him could have murdered him. Linglong looked through the information sent by the lawyer and singled out some suspicious individuals.

"Two of them had borrowed large sums of money from him, and one of them had just been released from prison two months ago."

"Then there's a high possibility that he's the murderer!" Fenwu said, "I'll go find him."

"Wait!" Dong Ya squatted on the ground, looked at the direction of the bloodstains, and opened the cabinet below. "What's in here?"

"A coat!" Linglong gave him the photo on her phone.

"Did this jacket appear on the surveillance footage?"

Fenwu sat aside, turned on the computer, and carefully reviewed the video screen: "There is a person! He seems to be the deceased, but he didn't seem to be dead at the time. He seemed to be injured and went to the room where Ouyang was."

"Why did he put on his coat?" Linglong didn't understand. "To hide his wound?"

"No!" Dong Ya found some white substances in the corner of the cabinet. They should be drugs. Judging from the traces, there were quite a lot of them.

Suddenly, the boss here opened the door and came in. Seeing the three of them, he asked, "Who are you?"

Linglong went up to talk to him: "Hello, we are here to investigate yesterday's case."

"I don't think you're the police!" The boss was a little unhappy, especially when he saw Dongya checking the cabinet. "Who let you in?"

Linglong felt that the bar owner's reaction was too strong: "Don't you think this owner is a little weird?"

Fenwu nodded: "There must be something hidden."

Dong Ya went to the staff locker room and looked at them when he came back: "Let's go!" He already had evidence to prove that Ouyang Zishan was not the murderer.

Based on the clues they provided, the police soon discovered that the deceased had a close relationship with the bar owner and was conducting an unknown transaction. Due to the illegality of the transaction, the two had a disagreement, so the bar owner killed the victim and finally put the blame on Ouyang Zishan who happened to be drunk in the private room.

Linglong helped Ouyang Zishan into the car. Seeing her depressed mood, she felt a little worried: "Ouyang, let's go back now. No one will ask you any more questions." In her opinion, this accident made Ouyang Zishan even more depressed. She suggested that Ouyang Zishan find a doctor, but the two people sitting in the front seat rejected it outright.
