Fu Shengying remained silent for a moment; of course, he couldn't bear it.
However, he never expected that Han Zheng would become so deeply involved in that relationship.
Fu Hanzheng went to the study, locked the door, and then called Gu Weiwei.
Gu Weiwei answered the phone a long time later. "I was just giving the child a bath. Are you there yet?"
"Yes, we've arrived," Fu Hanzheng replied gently.
"Have you had dinner?" Gu Weiwei asked while helping the nanny dress the child.
"We just used it. Were the kids well-behaved today?" Fu Hanzheng asked with a gentle smile.
Gu Weiwei sighed helplessly, "It's alright, it's just that Tian Tian kept hiccuping for a long time before she calmed down."
Hiccups might not be a big deal for adults, but for such a young child, it was a real worry for her.
Moreover, now that the two children are eating more and more, breast milk is no longer enough to meet their needs. Fortunately, both babies are still drinking formula, so she is spared the trouble of feeding them.
"Don't take the child to sleep with you while I'm not here. You can't manage on your own," Fu Hanzheng warned.
When he was around, she would occasionally spend a night taking care of him, and he would lend a hand, so they were able to manage.
"You're not here, so am I supposed to sleep alone?" Gu Weiwei muttered.
Since she became pregnant, he has spent so much time with her that she feels lost when he goes away for a few days on business.
If I didn't have two children to take care of, I would probably be sick with longing by now.
"I will go back as soon as possible," Fu Hanzheng said.
However, his parents had just arrived, and he wasn't sure when they would leave, nor could he urge them to go back to China so soon after their arrival.
"When is 'as soon as possible'?" Gu Weiwei asked sullenly. After a long silence, she whispered, "I miss you."
Fu Hanzheng sighed silently and wanted to go back for a moment, but when he thought of his father and mother outside, he had to suppress the idea.
"I'll go back as soon as I finish my work."
"There's no need to rush. I'll take good care of myself and the children. You can focus on your work."
Gu Weiwei sensed his remorse and immediately changed her words.
She said that she really missed him, but she didn't want him to neglect his work because of her.
Otherwise, in order to get back as soon as possible, he worked tirelessly, neglecting sleep and food, which made her worry about his health.
"It's getting late. Go to bed early. Leave the child to the nanny. Don't try to be stubborn."
Fu Hanzheng gave her a few instructions before they said goodbye and ended their call that evening.
He finished some work in his study before going out to meet Fu Shengying and his wife, who were sitting in the living room.
"When...are you planning to go back?"
"We've only just arrived, and you're already urging us to go back?" Fu Shengying complained.
“I’m very busy, I don’t have time,” Fu Hanzheng said.
If they didn't leave, he wouldn't be able to go back and take care of her and the two children.
“We’ll stay for a week and then go back. You can continue with your work; it won’t affect your job,” Mrs. Fu gently advised.
He had been gone for half a year and rarely called home, so they decided to come and visit him during the Lunar New Year.
They'd only been there a day, and he was already asking them when they were going back. How much he didn't want to see them, his parents, was evident.
"It has already had an impact." Fu Hanzheng said.
Their arrival disrupted his life, causing him to feel down at work, which indirectly affected his job.
