The next afternoon, she arrived early at the place where she had agreed to meet Martin Green and waited.
Martin Green finished his work and rushed over, and saw the girl sitting by the window overlooking the sea from afar.
They hadn't seen each other for over a year, ever since the wedding accident at Cheneys Castle.
The once stunningly beautiful Chinese girl now possesses a gentler and more graceful demeanor, attracting many eyes simply by sitting there.
He approached and sat down opposite her.
"haven't seen you for a long time."
Gu Weiwei came back to her senses from outside the window and said with a smile.
"Long time no see, Martin."
"I heard from Mr. Fu that you have two children. Congratulations on becoming a mother," Martin Green said as he placed the gifts he had brought on the table. "These are gifts for the two babies."
Gu Weiwei didn't bother to be polite and accepted it on the spot.
"Thanks."
Martin Green stirred his coffee while glancing at the girl sitting on the floor, as if looking at her, or perhaps looking at something else in her.
"Martin, what do you want to ask?" Gu Weiwei noticed the suspicion in his eyes, so she simply spoke up.
She thought that Gu Siting's appearance at the wedding and the series of events that led to the cancellation of her wedding were enough to make Martin doubt her relationship with the Gu family.
Therefore, it's understandable if he wants to ask something.
She had planned to let go of the past, so she didn't tell him the truth.
After the wedding, we didn't have the chance to meet and talk, so it was more than a year before we saw each other again.
Martin Green took a sip of his coffee and shook his head after a long silence.
"There's nothing I wanted to ask, but with so many changes during the wedding, I just wanted to know how you've been doing over the past year?"
Gu Siting's appearance at the wedding did indeed make him wonder what kind of relationship this person, who always seemed so familiar, had with Weiwei.
However, since she hadn't said anything, there was no need for him to ask.
No matter whether she is Gu Weiwei or Mu Weiwei, he sincerely hopes that she can live a happy life.
In fact, she is really happy now.
"Martin, you really are... a very good friend." Gu Weiwei said excitedly.
He thought Martin Green came to see her to ask about her relationship with the Gu family and why Gu Siting appeared at the wedding.
However, he ultimately refrained from asking a single question.
Martin Green raised his coffee cup and said, "Thank you for the compliment."
"I'm doing very well now, thank you for your continued concern," Gu Weiwei said.
"I can tell you're very happy. It's just a pity I didn't get to see your child today."
Martin Green chuckled softly; this happiness was easily felt in her eyes and smile.
“There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Right now, they’re too young to raise them properly,” Gu Weiwei said helplessly.
Martin Green looked at his new mother with gentle eyes and sighed regretfully.
"MG has a big show next month, and we were supposed to have you, as their global ambassador, make an appearance, but it looks like we won't be able to get you there."
"I'm sorry, I probably won't be able to go."
Gu Weiwei felt helpless; her two children were still so young, and she couldn't bear to leave them to focus on her work.
“It’s alright, I’ll make other arrangements.” Martin Green didn’t insist that she participate and readily agreed to arrange for someone else.
Gu Weiwei thought for a moment and then said.
"If you have time, I would like to invite you to my home."
"I'd love to, but I have a flight in three hours and important work to do." Martin Green smiled helplessly and said, "Next time. Next time I'll definitely get to see your two little darlings."
