Gu Weiwei looked down at her daughter in her arms, smiled and nodded.
"Cook the noodles a little soft, and it's best to add some chopped greens."
"Alright, alright, I'll go take a look." After saying that, Madam Fu went to the kitchen to check on the noodles she had cooked for the two children.
Looking at her grandchildren, Fu Shengying wanted to hold them but didn't feel comfortable asking for more, so she awkwardly picked up a newspaper she had already read and started flipping through it.
Grandma Fu said warmly, "If you have any jobs in the future, just send the children over. We're just sitting at home doing nothing anyway."
"Okay." Gu Weiwei nodded.
As the two were talking, Mrs. Fu came out carrying two cute cartoon bowls.
"Come on, the noodles are here."
Fu Shengying glanced at it and saw that there was only a little bit in each bowl.
"Why is there so little? Will they even be able to get enough to eat?"
Madam Fu glared at her and said, "The child is so small, how big can his stomach be? If he eats too much, he won't be able to digest it properly and will get sick."
Fu Shengying pursed his lips and awkwardly continued flipping through the newspaper in his hand. He was just worried that his grandchildren weren't getting enough to eat.
Gu Weiwei put the child in the high chair, took the noodles, and tasted them.
"They should like it."
"The noodles are all handmade and cooked until very soft. No other seasonings are added except salt."
As she spoke, Mrs. Fu fiddled with another noodle, preparing to feed Youyou.
Gu Weiwei stirred the cute butterfly-shaped noodles in the bowl, scooped out a small piece, blew on it to cool it down, and fed it to Tian Tian. After the little girl finished eating, she licked her lips with her little tongue, seemingly very satisfied with the taste of the noodles.
Madam Fu saw it and smiled with delight.
"Tian Tian likes Grandma's noodles, right? Whatever you want to eat in the future, Grandma will make it for you."
The little girl ate heartily and even complained that Gu Weiwei was feeding her too slowly. She reached out to grab the bowl and spoon, which amused Grandma Fu and the others.
"Look at her, she's got a sweet tooth just like her second uncle."
"That's right, Shiqin ate just as much when he was little." Madam Fu fed Youyou noodles while recounting embarrassing stories about Fu Shiqin when he was a child.
As soon as Fu Shiqin entered the house, he heard his family talking badly about him.
"Enough already, this is all old news, why are you bringing it up again?"
"We mean, Tian Tian's love for food comes from you," Madam Fu said with a smile.
“She’s my own niece, of course she takes after me,” Fu Shiqin said proudly.
Gu Weiwei slowly finished feeding her daughter the noodles, wiped her mouth and hands, and then picked her up from the child seat.
After Mrs. Fu finished feeding Youyou, she let Fu Hanzheng pick up the child.
"Weiwei, if you're not in a hurry, have dinner here before going back."
Gu Weiwei pursed her lips, somewhat embarrassed. "No need. We've already prepared it at home. The two children need to go back and get a bath and rest."
"It's rare that you're all here. Dinner has been prepared. Have a meal before you go back."
Fearing that she wouldn't agree, Madam Fu gave Fu Hanzheng a wink, signaling him to try and persuade her.
Fu Hanzheng glanced at her. "It's not too late. Have dinner before you go back."
"Stay here. The kitchen has been busy all afternoon so you can have a meal here," Grandma Fu added, urging her to stay.
Gu Weiwei smiled and nodded, "Then I'll take my leave."
When Madam Fu saw that she had agreed, she immediately instructed the servants to serve the dishes and prepare for the meal.
Fu Shengying wanted to see her grandchildren a little longer, so she naturally didn't object.
After all, it's rare for grandchildren to come over, and once they're taken back this time, who knows when they'll be willing to send them over again.
