Chapter 1539 I'm probably a heartless person

Gu Weiwei smiled slightly, not denying her guess.

They said they were going to a social event, but I guess they'll just make a polite appearance and then leave.

Upon hearing this, Ji Cheng protested in dissatisfaction.

"You and your CEO are together every day, and it's been so long since you've had a meal with us. Don't you feel any remorse for prioritizing your girlfriend over your friends?"

Gu Weiwei chuckled, "I guess I'm a heartless person, so I don't feel pain."

The three of them left the MG amidst laughter and chatter, and then drove to a quiet teahouse on a nearby pedestrian street.

Gu Weiwei ordered a pot of black tea and some dried fruit, and the three of them put their things down in a private room to rest.

Luo Qianqian took out the sheet music from her bag and gave her the recording.

"Director Mo's new film is a period drama set in Shanghai. This is the first draft I wrote, but I haven't given it to him yet."

Gu Weiwei looked at the sheet music and lyrics. It turned out that a recording had been played, and the quiet tea room was filled with melodies played by various instruments, gentle and pleasant to the ear.

Luo Qianqian said after the song finished playing.

"I always feel like something's missing. What do you think?"

"It's missing something," Gu Weiwei said, playing the recording again.

Luo Qianqian stared at her intently, without making a sound to disturb her.

Ji Cheng silently drank his tea and ate melon seeds, without interrupting the two's musical discussion.

After playing the recording three times in a row, Gu Weiwei asked.

Do you have a pen?

Luo Qianqian took a pen out of her bag and handed it to her, "What's wrong?"

Gu Weiwei circled the chorus with her pen, saying, "I suggest that the lyrics and music be more powerful, to express the weight and epic grandeur of a period drama."

“Yes, I only focused on the prosperity and unique features of Shanghai, and I did overlook this point.” Luo Qianqian nodded.

Gu Weiwei then circled the intro section, saying, "For the beginning part, I suggest processing it into the sound of old Shanghai gramophone music. This will quickly draw the audience in and better fit the film."

Overjoyed, Luo Qianqian took the sheet music, made some modifications, and then handed it to Gu Weiwei.

The three of them spent the entire afternoon at the teahouse, helping Luo Qianqian compose lyrics and music.

Gu Weiwei and Ji Cheng drank tea and waited, occasionally offering their opinions. But hard work pays off, and after an afternoon of polishing, they finally finished the music and lyrics.

"It's getting late, I'll take you home," Gu Weiwei said, checking the time.

"No, you should go on your date with your CEO." Ji Cheng packed his bag and declined her offer to see him off.

Luo Qianqian agreed with her, "We'll just take a taxi back ourselves. You should go on your date. If it gets late, your CEO will have a problem with us again."

Gu Weiwei happened to receive another WeChat message from Fu Hanzheng, so she didn't insist on seeing them off anymore.

"Okay, you guys be careful. Let's meet up again when we're free. I'm pretty free right now."

"After the competition, I'll come to your house to see the little ones," Ji Cheng said.

"Okay," Gu Weiwei replied with a smile.

Ji Cheng and Luo Qianqian left the teahouse, and Gu Weiwei returned Fu Hanzheng's call.

Have you finished your work?

"I'm on my way. Shall I come pick you up?" Fu Hanzheng asked.

"No, just tell me the location, and I'll drive there myself. Come pick me up; no one will be able to take the car back," Gu Weiwei said.

Fu Hanzheng gave the address, "Did you bring the invitation card I left this morning?"

"I brought it. The place isn't far from here; I can go there myself," Gu Weiwei said.

"Okay, see you in a bit," Fu Hanzheng said.
