Yuan Shuo took the medicine and personally delivered it out to have its ingredients tested before returning to the Gu family home in the middle of the night.
"Just painkillers, did Gu Siting give them to you?"
Gu Weiwei took the medicine bottle, drank some water, and took another dose to relieve her headache, which was starting to flare up again.
"Why did I give you this? Is it because of that experiment...?" Yuan Shuo thought and thought, and realized that it was because of that experiment that her body started to feel unwell.
"It's just a slight headache, but it's not particularly serious." Gu Weiwei smiled gently, indicating that he could rest assured.
However, Yuan Shuo was not at all relieved.
“Weiwei, I know you’re worried about the baby, but…”
"I know what to do." Gu Weiwei interrupted him with a smile, yawned, and said, "I'm sleepy, you should go back and rest too."
Yuan Shuo sighed helplessly and had no choice but to leave her room.
However, Gu Weiwei did not actually fall asleep after he left.
After the first day of video calls, Gu Siting became wary.
In the subsequent video calls, all she could see was the small bed where Youyou was, with no surrounding scenery or any sounds other than those from Youyou.
Gu Weiwei goes to the lab every day as usual to participate in experiments, and then has a half-hour video call with Youyou.
However, as the number of experiments increased, her headaches became more and more severe, and even painkillers could no longer relieve them.
Six days later on the lab table, she was in so much pain that she almost went into shock.
Gu Siting looked at the various instruments monitoring her body data and noticed the abnormal changes in the data. He then looked at the person in charge of the experiment.
Why is this happening?
“These…we’ve already reported to you in previous reports,” the person in charge replied tremblingly.
Gu Siting looked at the person on the instrument panel who was covered in cold sweat and felt a pang of heartache and guilt.
"Try to make her feel better."
Upon hearing this, the person in charge immediately instructed the assistant, "Give her an injection of pain medication."
After receiving the injection, Gu Weiwei slept for more than an hour. When she woke up, she looked at the laboratory she was in with a blank expression.
"What are you doing?"
Gu Siting was surprised and asked the person in charge of the experiment in a low voice.
"What happened?"
"Based on the previous experiment of entering the city, she should be reacting now... possibly experiencing a period of memory loss."
Upon hearing this, Gu Siting approached and asked.
"Weiwei, it's almost time for today's video call."
"Video call?" Gu Weiwei looked confused, but when she saw who was asking her, her eyes flashed with deep hatred. "Gu Siting, you... what are you doing here?"
Gu Siting looked at her with suspicion, her eyes and expression suggesting she didn't remember wanting to video chat with her child.
In the past, this request would be made upon completion of the experiment, but today it seems that the idea of a video call has been completely forgotten.
He thought for a moment, then opened the child's photo on his phone.
Do you know this child?
Gu Weiwei stared at the photo for a long time before looking up at him in disbelief.
"What is Fu Hanzheng's relationship with this child? Why...why does this child look so much like him?"
“Yes, he is Fu Hanzheng’s child,” Gu Siting said.
“Fu Hanzheng…Fu Hanzheng’s child?” Gu Weiwei’s eyes were filled with shock and pain as she shook her head repeatedly in denial. “No, impossible, he couldn’t possibly have a child…”
Gu Siting frowned as he looked at the person in front of him who was staring at the photo, both shocked and in pain.
Does she really not remember that child?
Moreover, she doesn't even remember that it was her and Fu Hanzheng's child.
They even thought it was Fu Hanzheng's child with someone else.
