At 1 p.m., Yuan Meng dropped Gu Weiwei off at the Fu Group and then drove back home.
Gu Weiwei entered the elevator alone and went to the floor where Fu Hanzheng's office was located.
Because he was disguised, his secretary stopped him as soon as he stepped out of the elevator.
Who are you looking for?
"Find your boss," Gu Weiwei said.
"Do you have an appointment?" the young male secretary asked.
Gu Weiwei chuckled and shook her head.
"I just came to ask him out for dinner."
"Sorry, Mr. Fu is busy. Would you like to leave by yourself, or should I call security to escort you out?" The male secretary, seeing her attire, immediately thought it was some tactless woman trying to flirt with their boss at the company.
Their boss is known for spoiling his wife; how could he possibly date or have dinner with anyone other than his wife?
Just as he was about to call security to come up, Gu Weiwei saw Xu Qian coming out of the conference room, heading to Fu Hanzheng's office to pick up something.
"Xu Qian!"
Xu Qian recognized the voice, but didn't recognize her at first glance. He stared at her for a while before recognizing her and exclaimed with delight.
"Madam, what brings you here?"
"Madam...?" The male secretary who had stopped her earlier was dumbfounded.
They all knew that the boss's wife was the movie star Mu Weiwei, but the woman in front of them didn't look like Mu Weiwei at all.
Xu Qian looked at his subordinate's expression and said helplessly.
"This person is new and may not recognize you."
"It's okay, is Fu Hanzheng here?" Gu Weiwei asked.
Xu Qian nodded with a complicated expression. "They're still in a meeting."
"Have you had lunch yet?" Gu Weiwei pressed.
Xu Qian nodded helplessly, "Because the second young master is on vacation, the boss has to take over a lot of work personally. He's already had three meetings this morning. He didn't say when the meetings were over and we'd have lunch. Who's going to eat?"
Gu Weiwei looked at Xu Qian with sympathy, "This boss is so inhumane."
"Madam, have you... had a fight with your boss recently?" Xu Qian asked tentatively.
"How do you know?" Gu Weiwei asked with a smile.
Xu Qian sighed heavily, "The boss has been in a bad mood lately."
Although he used to be serious and rarely smiled, he generally wouldn't get angry, and his expression and tone were always easy to understand.
But in the last few days, if anyone below does anything wrong, they'll be in trouble.
Two newly promoted employees in the planning department have resigned due to the pressure in the past two days.
Gu Weiwei gave a guilty laugh. She had been upset at home, so she took it out on her subordinates at the company.
"Um... if it's convenient, could you go in and ask her if she could do you the honor of having a meal with you?"
Xu Qian nodded readily, "Wait in the boss's office for a moment, I'll go ask him now."
"I'll go with you and wait for you at the door," Gu Weiwei said, following him to the conference room, but she didn't go in; instead, she stood outside the door.
Xu Qian took the documents inside and walked over to Fu Hanzheng, asking him a question.
"Mr. Fu, someone would like to invite you to dinner."
"I'm busy." Fu Hanzheng refused without even thinking.
"But they're already at the company waiting," Xu Qian said, deliberately keeping everyone in suspense.
"Then ask him to go back." Fu Hanzheng said coldly as he flipped through the documents.
Xu Qian smiled secretly, walked to the office door where she was, opened the door and said.
"Madam, Mr. Fu said he's busy and would like you to return..."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Fu Hanzheng abruptly looked up at him.
Then, Gu Weiwei peeked out from the doorway.
"If you're busy, I'll go eat with someone else."
