At first, they were reserved and cautious, but gradually they started chatting on the phone.
Then, the topic turned to Yuan Shuo's insistence on working there, which left Kaman Dorrance feeling quite helpless.
“We’ve cleared away all the obstacles that needed to be removed for him, but he’s too lazy to bother with them. It’s a waste of all the years we’ve supported him.”
"He'll just struggle for a while, but he'll eventually go back," Gu Weiwei said with a smile.
He's struggling now, partly because he doesn't want to be tied down, and partly because he sees that Kaman Dorrance can still manage things.
He wouldn't stand idly by if something really happened to the Dorrance family.
He was adopted and raised by Carman Dorrance, and the two were like father and friend.
Kaman Dorrance smiled and said.
"I guess they're thinking of going back to you for help."
“I will not accept his offer of refuge,” Gu Weiwei said coldly.
Although the Carman Dorrance family started out in the underworld, they have now largely cleaned up their ways and become a large conglomerate.
Yuan Shuo was chosen to manage the business because he was a trustworthy candidate who would not pose a threat to the Fu Group in the future, and also because he and Yuan Meng's family could settle down.
The two were having a pleasant conversation when Fu Hanzheng returned from his meeting. Seeing that she was on the phone, he asked her a question.
"Who did you call?"
And she smiles so sweetly and adorably.
Gu Weiwei glanced at him but did not answer.
Kaman Dorrance heard Fu Hanzheng's voice and said reluctantly.
"Okay, let's stop here for today. Remember to send me the photos of Youyou and Tiantian. It's time for me to eat."
"Okay, goodbye." Gu Weiwei said goodbye and hung up the phone.
Fu Hanzheng stared at her intently, still waiting for her answer.
“Yuan Meng said Kaman wasn’t feeling well, so I called to ask,” Gu Weiwei said truthfully.
Upon hearing this, Fu Hanzheng asked, "Is it serious?"
"His voice sounds alright, but it's probably some old injury or ailment." Gu Weiwei looked at him and said, "I'd like to arrange for a good traditional Chinese medicine doctor to go and try."
Given the wealth and power of the Kinlans family, they have undoubtedly hired the best Western doctors.
However, his physical condition is still not satisfactory.
"Okay, I'll have someone arrange it." Fu Hanzheng readily agreed.
Gu Weiwei approached, sat down in his lap, and tilted her head back to give him a light kiss on the lips.
"Thanks."
Fu Hanzheng's expression darkened slightly, and he spoke in a low, hoarse voice.
"Don't tempt me during work hours."
Gu Weiwei immediately got up from his embrace to avoid anything going wrong.
"It's because you lack self-control."
“She’s too tempting to me,” Fu Hanzheng said. Even her smile seemed like a seduction to him.
Gu Weiwei sat back down on the sofa, sending photos and videos to Kaman Dorrance on her phone as she spoke.
"Should we go straight home after get off work, or eat out?"
They hadn't been out on a date for about ten days, and today just happened to be the day they did.
“Go back; it’s not convenient outside,” Fu Hanzheng said directly.
"Oh," Gu Weiwei replied.
It wasn't until she got home that evening, had dinner, and returned to her room to face the man who was horny and demanding, that she realized what he meant by "it's inconvenient outside."
It's not that he doesn't want to date outside; it's that he doesn't want to waste time that could be spent in bed.
"Is this what you mean by it being inconvenient to be out?"
Fu Hanzheng had one arm around her waist, his gaze burning as he looked at his pretty little wife in his arms.
"You seduced me first this afternoon."
