The three couples went up on stage one by one and sat down. After checking their microphones, the control room made a final countdown and announced the start.
The host immediately smiled and spoke at length about marriage to the camera, then introduced the three couples, to which the audience erupted in enthusiastic applause.
Then, the host began the interview.
How long have you been married?
The newlyweds smiled at each other and replied.
We've only been married for two months.
The camera focused on Gu Weiwei and Fu Hanzheng. Before she could begin, Fu Hanzheng answered.
"We have been married for 1,008 days."
Gu Weiwei looked at him in astonishment. They had only just gotten their marriage certificate not long ago.
However, he was probably referring to the day they first obtained their marriage certificate.
The host chuckled, "Mr. Fu remembers it so clearly?"
"That was the day she officially became my wife, a day I'll never forget," Fu Hanzheng said, a gentle light appearing in his usually cold and stern eyes.
After asking them, the host then asked the elderly couple.
How many years have you been married?
"Thirty-six years." The elderly couple had gray hair, but it was clear that they loved each other very much.
"You've been together for 36 years, have you ever thought about breaking up?" the host asked.
The old woman smiled and shook her head, "I said it, but I never really thought about it."
When a woman threatens to separate, she's just trying to get her husband's attention; she doesn't actually want to separate.
Although there have been ups and downs over the past 36 years, they have always walked hand in hand.
"And Mr. and Mrs. Fu, from the time they started dating until now, have they ever had such thoughts?" the host asked.
Both of them shook their heads at the same time, and Gu Weiwei said with a smile.
"I haven't thought about it, and I can't break up with him anyway, he won't let me."
The host looked at Fu Hanzheng and asked, "Mr. Fu, if your wife asked for a divorce, what would you do?"
“Keep pursuing him, we won’t break up anyway,” Fu Hanzheng said.
The host, upon hearing this, smiled and addressed the audience.
"Okay, here comes another dose of fresh dog food."
The audience burst into laughter, followed by waves of applause.
The host then turned to the newlyweds and asked, "I remember you two were childhood sweethearts. Since you started dating, have you ever had the thought of breaking up or even considering breaking up?"
"To be honest, I did. At that time, her career was better than mine, and I always felt that I was not good enough for her, so I had such thoughts."
"So how was it resolved back then?" the host pressed.
"I didn't agree, so I beat him up. Not really, but... really beat him up," the girl said, laughing and covering her face.
The audience burst into laughter; they thought, "What a breakup!"
The host looked horrified. "You can do that?"
"So I never dare to mention it again," the boy said with a helpless smile.
The host smiled, cleared his throat, and asked again.
"So, in your dating and married life, how do you handle situations where your partner crosses your principles and bottom line?"
The young couple replied, "We will communicate well, and most of the time we will compromise."
"Where are Mr. and Mrs. Fu?" the host asked.
Gu Weiwei thought for a moment, then shook her head and said.
"I haven't encountered such a problem yet."
Fu Hanzheng has always been very accommodating to her, except for being a little excessive in bed, but that's not a matter of principle.
"And Mr. Fu, has your wife ever crossed your bottom line?"
"No." Fu Hanzheng shook his head.
"Really not?" The host raised an eyebrow in surprise and said, "Mr. Fu seems to be a rather strict person. How could he not have encountered something like this before?"
Fu Hanzheng smiled and glanced at his exquisitely made-up wife sitting beside him. "My principle is that as long as she's happy, that's all that matters."
