The morning sunlight streamed into the ward through the window.
Gu Weiwei frowned amidst the unbearable headache, her eyelashes trembling, her eyelids feeling as heavy as a thousand pounds, and she vaguely heard a familiar voice calling him.
Upon closer listening, it was Fu Hanzheng's voice.
She struggled to lift her eyelids and saw the man sitting by the bed with a worried look on his face. Reflexively, she reached out to touch her aching head.
Fu Hanzheng reached out to stop him and said gently.
"Don't touch it, don't move it, you have a head injury."
Gu Weiwei frowned in discomfort, her voice weak and feeble.
"What's wrong with me?"
All she remembered was that he came to pick her up from the hospital, and before she could even reach him, everything went black and she collapsed.
Fu Hanzheng held her hand tightly and lowered his head to kiss the back of her hand.
"You were shot in the head and just had surgery. You can't move around too much; you need to rest in bed."
"Hit... by a gunshot?" Gu Weiwei exclaimed in astonishment.
So, when she suddenly went black, it wasn't because of anything else, but because she had been shot in the head.
Fu Hanzheng noticed that she was frowning and seemed to be in a lot of pain.
Does it hurt a lot?
"A little bit." Gu Weiwei pouted.
Fu Hanzheng pursed his thin lips and turned to Fu Shiyi.
"Where is He Chi? How long until he arrives?"
As they were talking, He Chi had already entered the room.
"They're here, they're here."
As He Chi spoke, he reached the bedside and held up one finger, asking a question.
"What's this?"
Gu Weiwei rolled her eyes at him. "First, do you think I'm stupid?"
"No, no, I wouldn't dare." He Chi quickly smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, repeat after me: when you eat grapes, don't spit out the grape skins; when you don't eat grapes, spit out the grape skins."
Gu Weiwei glared at him, "I just have a headache, I'm not stupid, and I haven't lost my ability to speak."
He Chi nodded thoughtfully, "With such a clear thought process, it shouldn't have any impact. You don't know, after all, it almost damaged the left brain. The left brain controls a person's language, logical reasoning ability, and I'm afraid there might be a problem."
"You're the one with the problem," Gu Weiwei said weakly.
"Seeing you so energetic, I'm relieved." He Chi breathed a sigh of relief and said, "You should stay in bed and rest this week. Don't sit up or get out of bed to walk around. It's a good thing the bullet was fired so cleverly, otherwise your skull would have been blown off."
It's a miracle that someone survived a bullet to the head without damaging either the left or right hemisphere of their brain.
Of course, this is also largely due to his superb medical skills.
Fu Hanzheng glanced at him and reminded him.
"She has a headache, is there any way to relieve it a little?"
He Chi checked the time and said.
"Okay, I'll have the nurse give you a painkiller injection, but you can only have one a day at most. Too much of this stuff isn't good either."
After saying that, he called Fu Shiyi to go out with him.
Fu Shiyi exchanged a glance with him, understood what he meant, and immediately went out with him.
His brother stayed up all night until his sister-in-law woke up, and he must have a lot to say to her now.
If they stay here, they'll just be third wheels.
As soon as he left the ward, Fu Shiyi put on a mask.
"Old He, are you sure my sister-in-law won't have any lasting effects?"
“They’ve already got the nerve to argue with me, what kind of aftereffects could there be?” He Chi said, then explained today’s medication to the nurse.
Her surgery went much better than she expected.
Apart from the head injury and being a bit weak, he doesn't look like someone who has been shot at all.
