As He Chi spoke, Fu Shiyi, sitting opposite him, laughed so hard he pounded the table.
However, fearing that Fu Hanzheng might hear her on the other end of the phone, she kept her laughter to herself.
Fu Hanzheng hung up the phone with a dark expression, carefully helped Gu Weiwei up from the hospital bed, and took her to the bathroom.
Fu Hanzheng stood in front of the toilet, looking at the person still standing in front of him.
"How can I get in if you don't leave?"
Although they were husband and wife and had done all sorts of intimate things, she didn't allow him to watch her use the toilet.
"Call me when you're done." Fu Hanzheng went out and waited outside the door.
After Gu Weiwei finished tidying up, she washed her hands and stared at her reflection in the mirror for a long time, her face wrapped in bandages, before finally opening the door and going out.
Fu Hanzheng helped her up. "Didn't I tell you to call me? Why did you come out by yourself?"
Gu Weiwei was both amused and exasperated. "I only injured my head, my hands and feet are fine, I can do it myself."
“If you fall, you’ll have more than just a head injury,” Fu Hanzheng said seriously.
She kept complaining of a headache. What if she felt dizzy and fell while walking? Wouldn't that make her head injury even worse?
Fu Hanzheng couldn't argue with him, so he obediently let him help him back to his hospital bed.
The thought of having to lie in bed like this for many more days made me sigh repeatedly.
"How about... you let the maids at home take care of you? You also have work to do, you can't just stay here all the time."
Fu Hanzheng could tell that he was trying to get rid of him. "Sometimes Qin will handle the work. If it really needs my attention, he and Xu Qian will bring it over."
The Fu Group wouldn't go bankrupt without him for a few days, but he couldn't bear to leave her in the hospital for even a minute.
Gu Weiwei pouted, still thinking that if he went back to work and other family members came to take care of him, she could see Youyou and Tiantian sooner.
Just as she was feeling awkward, Fu Shiqin and Xu Qian arrived at the hospital. In addition to bringing her a fruit basket, they also brought a bunch of work that Fu Hanzheng needed to handle personally.
"I'll go outside and give them some instructions. You rest for a while. If you need water or need to go to the restroom, just call me," Fu Hanzheng instructed.
"Okay, go ahead." Gu Weiwei waved her hand, leaving him, Fu Shiqin, and Xu Qian to discuss work outside.
However, perhaps not wanting to disturb her rest, the three of them deliberately lowered their voices when they spoke.
Feeling bored, Gu Weiwei slept for another hour or so, and when she woke up, Fu Shiqin and Xu Qian had already left.
Fu Hanzheng sat on a chair by the bed, wearing glasses and flipping through a large stack of documents. After reading a few pages, he habitually looked up and, noticing she was awake, stopped what he was doing.
"woke up."
"Where are the Second Young Master and the others?" Gu Weiwei asked.
"Back at the company." Fu Hanzheng put down the documents and asked, "Would you like some water?"
"I'm not drinking anymore," Gu Weiwei said.
Fu Hanzheng reached out and took her hand. "Your mother made your favorite soup, it will be here in a little while."
"I want to call Mom," Gu Weiwei asked, mainly because she was worried about her two children.
However, Fu Hanzheng forbade her family from visiting her these past two days, so she could only dream of seeing them.
Fu Hanzheng considered for a few seconds, then took out his phone and dialed the number for her.
Unexpectedly, before the call could be connected, Mrs. Fu pushed open the ward door and came in.
Fu Hanzheng looked at the person who came in carrying a thermos in surprise, "Mom, what brings you here?"
"The old lady's flower garden needs to be tidied up, and the servants are too busy, so I came over myself," Madam Fu said, offering an excuse.
Fu Hanzheng saw through her scheme but didn't bother to expose her. He helped the old lady tidy up the flower garden, which required more than a dozen servants in the house.
Madam Fu ladled out some soup and brought it to the bedside. "It's not too hot now, you can drink it."
Fu Hanzheng took the bowl and fed her most of it, spoonful by spoonful.
Madam Fu watched her eat without making a sound to disturb her, simply standing quietly to the side and observing.
After eating something, Gu Weiwei asked Madam Fu a question.
"Have Youyou and Tiantian been behaving well at home?"
"You're very good. Just focus on recovering." Madam Fu said with a smile.
Despite his son's objections, he rushed to the hospital under the pretense of delivering food. He was still worried about the situation and wanted to come and see for himself to make sure she was truly alright.
Otherwise, even if they told her on the phone that she was safe, she would still feel uneasy.
