Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi waited until the two bridesmaids had already opened and prepared the ring boxes before announcing the next step.
"Now, the groom can put your wedding rings on your bride's finger."
Fu Hanzheng took out the women's ring from the ring box, took Gu Weiwei's left hand, and put the wedding ring on her ring finger.
Then, he took her hand, lowered his head, and gently kissed the back of her hand.
"Mrs. Fu, it is an honor to be your husband."
Gu Weiwei chuckled, took out another men's wedding ring, and put it on his left ring finger as well.
"Mr. Fu, it is an honor to be your wife."
Their eyes met with smiles, and their sweet affection was unspoken.
Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi couldn't bear to watch any longer and announced directly.
"Now, groom, you may kiss your bride."
Fu Hanzheng reached out and cupped Gu Weiwei's cheek, then, remembering the two little buns beside him, turned his head to look at Youyou and Tiantian standing to the side.
"Youyou and Tiantian, turn around and close your eyes. Don't look."
Tian Tian didn't turn around, but You You pulled her around.
Then, in an incredibly cute gesture, she covered her own eyes with one hand and reached out with the other to cover Tian Tian's eyes as she turned to look.
Fu Hanzheng then lowered his head and kissed his bride with exceptional affection and tenderness.
The wedding photographer captured this heartwarming and lovely moment from below the stage. In the center of the picture were the bride and groom sharing a deep kiss, with a pair of adorable little buns standing in front of them.
The little boy covered his eyes with his hands, and the little girl next to him curiously turned her head to look, but her brother covered her eyes as well.
This scene was absolutely adorable and hilarious.
Seeing this, Fu Shengying and his wife were both amused and exasperated, and took their two grandchildren away.
"Hmm, that's enough, stop kissing like that." Fu Shiyi coughed twice, reminding the person who was still kissing the bride.
Fu Hanzheng reluctantly released her soft, fragrant lips and smiled gently at her.
"Groom, the wedding is finally over. Do you have any wedding remarks to make?"
"These remarks are meant for my wife, not for you all."
Fu Shiqin pursed his lips, knowing that he must have been brewing up a lot of cloying sweet nothings to say to his sister-in-law alone.
According to Western tradition, after reaching this point, the bouquet is thrown and the newlyweds and guests celebrate.
However, because there were several elders present, Gu Weiwei had requested the wedding planner to retain the traditional Chinese custom of offering tea to parents and elders as a gesture of gratitude at the wedding.
Fu Shiyi saw that the servants had already arranged the chairs and invited Fu Shengying, Madam Fu, Old Madam Fu, and Carman Dorrance to sit on the stage.
Then, Fu Hanzheng and Gu Weiwei served tea to the four elders one by one.
When Madam Fu received this cup of tea meant for her daughter-in-law, her eyes immediately welled up with tears.
"If you ever dare to let your wife suffer even the slightest grievance, I'll be the first to not forgive you."
Fu Shiqin chuckled, "Mom, are you welcoming your daughter-in-law or marrying off your daughter?"
Anyone who didn't know better would think she was a mother-in-law, not a mother-in-law, after hearing her say that.
Madam Fu glanced at him, picked up her tea, took a sip, and gave him some instructions.
"Alright, that's enough with the formalities."
The wedding was originally intended to be held according to their wishes, but Weiwei took into account the feelings of her elders, so she added the traditional Chinese tea ceremony to the Western-style wedding.
"Okay, I should thank you properly for nurturing such an outstanding person, which is why I was able to meet you."
"Sister-in-law, you should thank my brother for this. He cultivated entirely on his own," Fu Shiqin said with a smile.
His brother has been a very opinionated person since he was old enough to understand things. He makes his own decisions about every step of his life, so his parents didn't really cultivate him much.
