The once bustling castle gradually quieted down as guests left one after another.
Gu Weiwei and Fu Hanzheng saw Yuan Meng and Ji Cheng's group off and were about to return to the castle to rest when they saw Fu Shiqin, Fu Shiyi, and He Chi each dragging a suitcase out.
"You're going back now?"
"If I don't go back soon, my girlfriend will be stolen away," Fu Shiyi said.
“She’s my ex-girlfriend,” Fu Shiqin reminded him.
“You’re an ex-girlfriend too, who’s worse off than whom?” Fu Shiyi said angrily.
He Chi stared speechlessly at the two brothers who were locked in a love-hate relationship. "You're both miserable, why keep hurting each other like this?"
This successfully provoked the hostility of Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi.
"You're just dating, what's there to brag about?"
"As if everyone's talked about it before."
...
Gu Weiwei and Fu Hanzheng watched silently as the three of them carried their luggage onto the car, bickering with each other as they went.
Fu Shiyi closed the trunk and waved to the two of them.
"We're leaving."
Fu Shiqin got into the car and rolled down the window.
"Others get married and go on their honeymoon, but you two bring your families, meaning you'll be back in two days. You still have a ton of work to do at the company."
If his brother doesn't go back, how can he have the time and energy to pursue Ling Jiao?
Anyway, they're an old married couple, and with the kids and several elders in the family, it's hardly a honeymoon for them.
"Are you leaving or not?" Fu Hanzheng asked coldly.
Fu Shiqin shrank back, closed the car window, and urged Fu Shiyi to drive away.
Anyway, they'll see each other again at home once they return to China, so there's no need for such a grand farewell.
The two watched as Fu Shiqin and his car disappeared at the end of the road before they held hands and went back.
Looking at Lake Geneva bathed in the setting sun, Gu Weiwei spoke to Fu Hanzheng.
"Let's go for a walk. We haven't really explored the neighborhood properly in the last few days."
"Wait here, I'll go get something," Fu Hanzheng instructed, before returning to the castle.
Gu Weiwei stayed behind and went to play with the two children on the grass.
After a while, Fu Hanzheng changed into casual clothes and brought out a trench coat and flat shoes for her.
"Change your shoes."
As he spoke, he helped her put on her trench coat, squatted down to remove her high heels, and put on comfortable flat shoes for her.
Then, he gave the shoes to the maid who had followed him.
"Put it back in the room for your wife."
Gu Weiwei, holding Youyou's hand, said with a smile.
"Let's bring Youyou and Tiantian along. I haven't spent enough time with them today."
Fu Hanzheng nodded, holding her hand with one hand and his youngest daughter's hand with the other.
Gu Weiwei held his hand in one hand and her well-behaved son's hand in the other.
A family of four walked along the lakeside path, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, creating a beautiful and comforting scene.
Gu Weiwei turned her head to look at the handsome profile of the man beside her and said with a smile.
"I have so much to say to you today."
"What did you say?" Fu Hanzheng smiled and turned his head.
"There are so many things I wanted to say, but after thinking it over," Gu Weiwei said softly, her eyes filled with a gentle smile, "the only thing I really want to say is, 'I love you.'"
Fu Hanzheng chuckled, "What a coincidence, I was just about to say that too."
Having apparently overheard their conversation, Tian Tian looked up with a smile and said in her childish voice, "I love Mommy..."
As soon as she spoke, Youyou tugged at Gu Weiwei's hand, his cute little voice still a bit unclear.
"Youyou, love Mommy..."
"And what about Dad?" Gu Weiwei asked with a smile.
"We love Daddy," the two little buns said in unison.
Gu Weiwei happily kissed the two children on the forehead. Just as she straightened up, Fu Hanzheng also lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead.
"I love you, Vivi."
Gu Weiwei gazed into the man's gentle eyes. She never imagined that after falling into the hell of death, she would encounter the love of her life.
"Weren't we here to see the scenery? Why are you just looking at me?" Fu Hanzheng asked with a chuckle as he looked at his wife, who was staring at him in a daze.
"The scenery isn't as beautiful as you," Gu Weiwei said with a smile.
In this world, no scenery can compare to his beauty, and the passing years cannot match the length of his affection.
And how lucky she was to have him.
...End of main text...
As I typed those three words, I suddenly felt a sense of heartbreak.
However, it's time to say goodbye to Ms. Weiwei and President Fu.
Before I knew it, a year had passed since I started spending time with them. 2018 was the most difficult yet also the luckiest year of my life so far.
Around this time last year, my father started feeling unwell, and after the New Year, he was diagnosed with cancer. From the diagnosis to the surgery, and then to chemotherapy again and again, I was under such great financial and psychological pressure for the first time, and at one point I felt like I couldn't hold on anymore.
That year, I realized that my father and mother had grown old, and that I needed to become their support.
This year, I wrote this story at home, in hotels, by the hospital bedside, and in the car. Although real life is tough, this story gave me a lot of warmth and strength. I am deeply moved and grateful that you liked and encouraged this story.
Overall, this is a story about cherishing.
Gu Siting didn't know how to cherish what he had, so he missed out. Even though he tried his best to win it back, he still missed it.
Fu Hanzheng knew how to cherish what he had, and that's why he found his true love.
Weiwei learned to cherish things from Fu Hanzheng, and that's how she found happiness.
So, after reading this story, please learn to cherish it.
We are all ordinary people, and we don't have a second chance. Some people and some things may be missed once and for all.
Later, I will write some side stories about Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi, as well as the married life of Weiwei's family of four.
There are actually many parts in this book that I didn't write well enough, and I hope to write a better one next time.
The editor is back at work during the first month of the lunar calendar and has started a new story, still following the sweet and heartwarming theme.
