Ling Jiao helped her bring over the dishes and porridge she had brought and placed them where he could reach them.
"Third Young Master said he had an emergency and left first. I haven't been able to contact your sister-in-law either. Why don't you contact your family and have someone come and pick you up?"
Fu Shiqin picked up the porridge and took a couple of bites. “My sister-in-law and the others have gone on vacation, and my brother has too many things to do. No one has time to come over.”
He couldn't get in touch with his sister-in-law, of course, because he and Fu Shi had informed her in advance.
He knew that as soon as Fu Shiyi left, she would contact his sister-in-law, wanting the Fu family to arrange for someone to come and pick him up.
So, he simply asked his sister-in-law to temporarily block Ling Jiao's number.
Otherwise, how could he have stayed here so easily and continued to stage his self-inflicted injury?
“Your sister-in-law and the others…didn’t they just get back from vacation?” Ling Jiao frowned.
Although she didn't know much about the Fu family, she did know that her sister-in-law and her husband had their wedding in Switzerland and had just returned from vacation.
"My grandmother is unwell, so they accompanied her to the south for recuperation," Fu Shiqin said without changing his expression, offering a fabricated reason.
Ling Jiao didn't ask any further questions, but simply said...
"I'll have my assistant hire another caregiver for you in a bit. You probably won't be staying here for long anyway."
"It's unclear right now. The doctor said today's test results aren't very optimistic," Fu Shiqin deliberately exaggerated.
"Not very optimistic?" Ling Jiao tensed up for a moment, but quickly calmed herself down. "Why?"
"They said there seems to be something growing in my stomach, and we need to wait for a more detailed examination," Fu Shiqin said helplessly.
Of course, these were just things I said to her.
He only had a simple bleeding ulcer, and it's almost healed by now. He just can't eat anything too irritating to his stomach or drink alcohol anymore.
But if he didn't act pitiful, why would she care about him and take care of him?
Ling Jiao pursed her lips, feeling even more reluctant to leave him alone in the hospital after hearing this.
When will the next checkup be done?
"The day after tomorrow," Fu Shiqin said.
Ling Jiao thought for a moment and then said.
"The day after tomorrow...it seems I don't have any scenes to film, so I'll come over then."
"Thank you." Fu Shiqin's face remained expressionless, but he was overjoyed inside.
Ling Jiao sat silently on the sofa for a while before speaking.
"Alcohol is ultimately not a good thing. For your own health, you should try to quit."
"I... will try my best," Fu Shiqin replied with a smile.
It was totally worth spitting out blood.
If he had known that vomiting blood would improve their relationship, he would have vomited blood long ago.
Ling Jiao sat there watching him finish his porridge, then stood up and said.
"I might not have time to come over later, so I'll have my assistant bring the food over."
"There's something I need your help with..." Fu Shiqin asked.
Ling Jiao nodded. "Go ahead."
"I didn't bring any change of clothes. Could you spare some time to go and buy me some?" Fu Shiqin said.
If she agrees, she'll definitely come over tomorrow.
"Okay." Ling Jiao thought for a moment and agreed.
Then, I packed my things and prepared to leave.
Fu Shiqin watched her clear away the dishes, wanting her to stay a little longer, but he also knew he couldn't rush things at this point.
Be careful on the road.
"Okay." Ling Jiao finished setting the table and glanced at the medicine on the table, saying, "Remember to take your medicine."
Fu Shiqin's departure and his wife's disappearance are suspicious no matter how you look at it.
However, none of them intended to intervene, and she couldn't possibly just leave Fu Shiqin in the hospital and ignore him.
