One story wasn't enough to lull the two little ones to sleep, so Fu Hanzheng had to switch to another book and tell the story again before he finally managed to get them to sleep, as they were worried about not having younger siblings.
Gu Weiwei had already finished washing up and was lying in bed for quite some time when Fu Hanzheng finally returned from the children's room.
Why are you talking for so long today?
Fu Hanzheng handed her the story about the deep bond between brothers and sisters, and said helplessly.
"After I told you this, Youyou kept asking why he didn't have a younger brother, and Tiantian almost cried, saying that she didn't have one either."
Gu Weiwei was both amused and exasperated. As the two children grew older, their language talent became more and more apparent, and they asked more and more questions.
Sometimes, she was left speechless by their questions.
Fu Hanzheng sighed, "Don't buy them these kinds of storybooks anymore."
Gu Weiwei flipped through the storybook, laughing so hard her shoulders shook.
Fu Hanzheng took a shower, changed into his pajamas, and lay down on the bed.
Gu Weiwei rolled over, snuggled into his arms, and asked with a smile.
"Honey, are we really not going to have another baby?"
"No," Fu Hanzheng firmly objected.
She endured a difficult ten months of pregnancy, and he was filled with anxiety and fear along with her; he didn't want to go through that experience again.
"I've heard that the second pregnancy is much easier than the first," Gu Weiwei said with a light laugh.
Fu Hanzheng looked down at her and said, "Then I'll have to have another surgery on my stomach. I can have any other requests, but I absolutely cannot have another child."
From the time she was pregnant with those two to the time she gave birth to them and weaned them, she endured so much hardship, yet she has already forgotten the pain as soon as the wound heals.
"Alright." Seeing that she couldn't persuade her, Gu Weiwei simply gave up.
Other families would rush to have a second child after the first, but in this family, they're afraid she'll get pregnant again.
Anyway, there are still Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi, so there will always be younger brothers and sisters.
They forgot about it immediately, but the two little ones remembered it. A couple of days later, when Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi returned, the two little ones went to ask them for it.
Youyou ran to find Fu Shiqin and said in a childish voice.
"Second Uncle, I... want a younger brother."
"Huh?" Fu Shiqin was completely dumbfounded.
Tian Tian ran up to her two uncles and shouted loudly.
"Tian Tian wants one too, a younger brother and a younger sister."
Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi were completely bewildered. A younger brother? A younger sister?
Shouldn't they ask their own mother for it?
When asked what they wanted to do, they said they couldn't have children.
Gu Weiwei was both amused and exasperated. She took some snacks to distract the two little buns and explained in a low voice.
"The other day, your brother was telling them a bedtime story. He accidentally told a story about siblings who have a deep bond. The two little ones thought that since they don't have a younger brother or sister, they had to find one for themselves."
“If anyone’s looking for a baby, it’s you guys. Why are you asking us? Do we even look like we can have children?” Fu Shiyi asked.
Madam Fu glanced at the two of them and said, "I want you to finish dating and get married as soon as possible. Your sister-in-law and her husband will not have any more children."
Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi exchanged a glance; these two little devils were subtly pressuring them to get married.
"There's no use in rushing these things; you can't rush them."
"Exactly, even if we went to propose to her now, she wouldn't want to marry us."
...
Please, they're not even in a romantic relationship, let alone married or having children.
While Fu Shiqin was still pursuing Fu Shiyi, Fu Shiyi was even more disliked by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, and marriage seemed like a distant dream for them.
