"Mom!" Ding Dongdong tugged at his mother, who was about to get up and leave the table.
Ding's mother looked at her daughter and said.
“You can date him, we can’t stop you, but… you can’t marry him.” After saying this, Ding’s mother left the private room with her husband without touching a single dish.
Ding Dongdong chased after them, saw them off, and then returned.
As soon as I entered, I saw Fu Shiyi sitting there with a frustrated look on his face, like a child who had done something wrong.
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect my parents to say such hurtful things."
My parents, who are usually very gentle and well-mannered at home, spoke so bluntly today.
“It’s all my own fault, don’t blame your parents.” Fu Shiyi sighed.
The sins committed in youthful folly must eventually be repaid.
The reason her parents treated him so badly was precisely because they valued their daughter so much, and also because of his past actions.
Ding Dongdong reached out and patted his head. "I told you not to see them now, but you wouldn't believe me."
She hadn't originally planned to let him meet her parents so soon. She intended to communicate with them for a while and change their attitude towards Fu Shiyi before letting them meet.
However, Fu Shiyi insisted on facing the situation himself and asked her to arrange this meeting.
As a result, the meeting ended in less than ten minutes.
"We'll have to face it sooner or later," Fu Shiyi said firmly.
“What are we facing now? They’ve already said it like that,” Ding Dongdong said, both amused and exasperated.
Fu Shiyi raised his peach blossom eyes and stared at her for a few seconds.
"Since your parents dislike me so much, does that mean you don't like me either?"
"Then why am I wasting my breath talking to you here?" Ding Dongdong retorted.
Fu Shiyi pouted and said pitifully.
"But you haven't told me you like me or love me in a long time."
“I never said I forgave you.” Ding Dongdong’s words made him face reality.
Fu Shiyi slumped onto the table in frustration. His future in-laws didn't like him, and his girlfriend didn't like him either. How could this relationship possibly continue?
"Then what will it take for you to forgive me?"
Ding Dongdong thought for a moment, "Unless..."
"Unless what?" Fu Shiyi pressed.
“Unless you do for me what I did for you back then,” Ding Dongdong said.
Fu Shiyi squinted, struggling to recall his memories of his student days, but he could hardly remember what exactly happened during that time.
However, he still agreed with a smile.
"Okay, I'll do them all."
He and Fu Xiaoer were in the same class back then, so he should remember something. He should go back and ask her first.
"Let's eat, don't waste this table full of food." Ding Dongdong sat down and picked up her chopsticks.
Fu Shiyi ate a meal with mixed feelings, then sent Ding Dongdong back to her residence before returning to the Fu family's old house.
As soon as he entered the house, he dragged Fu Xiaoer, who was resting in bed, out of bed.
"Fu Xiaoer, do you remember what Dongdong did for me when we were in school?"
"I don't remember," Fu Shiyi replied, squinting, before lying back down.
Fu Shiyi pulled the man up again, patted his face, and asked.
"Think about it again, think about it carefully. You guys made that bet with me back then, you must know that."
"You, the person directly involved, don't even know? How can we, the onlookers, possibly know?" Fu Shiqin snorted, then lay down again, pulling the blanket over his head.
