Zou Fang looked at her husband, who had always supported her daughter's romantic relationships, with a serious expression.
"What did that guy surnamed Gu have hidden in his house that made you lose your mind in just two days?"
I spent most of yesterday there, and went out at noon today, not returning until dark.
"What are you thinking? I'm just looking out for my daughter, testing his character." Mr. Luo didn't mention that he was attracted by the room full of antique treasures.
"You stayed at his place for most of the day, what were you two talking about so enthusiastically? You don't even talk this much with me at home all day, do you?" Zou Fang became angrier the more she thought about it.
Mr. Luo rubbed his forehead and said honestly.
“I’ve said less than ten sentences to him all day, and we haven’t talked about anything.”
He only made tea for me and said a few words when he came in. Later, he went to his study to work and look at his things. We went our separate ways and the day passed by.
"You didn't talk about anything, how could you stay for so long?" Zou Fang didn't believe it.
Luo's father sighed and spoke frankly.
"Because he has a lot of antiques and calligraphy and paintings at home, I went to take a look, but I didn't mention Qianqian at all."
"I knew it. You went there for a reason. So it wasn't him who tricked you; you went there on your own," Zou Fang sneered.
After so many years of marriage, she knows this man too well. When he comes across those old objects, he treats them even more affectionately than his wife.
No wonder he started speaking up for Gu Yunche when he came back yesterday; it turns out he had his eye on the antique calligraphy and paintings in Gu Yunche's possession.
“I’m just taking a look. I didn’t say I had to give him my daughter after looking at her,” Mr. Luo said.
Zou Fang pointed at him and said through gritted teeth.
"You dare say you didn't have your own plans? If Qianqian gets together with him, you'll treat that place like your own home and go look at those antiques every day?"
“I swear to God, absolutely not,” Luo’s father said firmly.
He did like the things Gu Yunche had, but he didn't even have that thought.
Zou Fang saw that his expression didn't seem fake, so she didn't investigate further.
"That's fine for the next couple of days, but you're not allowed to go there again."
If he keeps going to visit people every few days, he'll eventually get brainwashed by them.
“Fine, fine, I won’t go anymore, I’ll never go again,” said Mr. Luo.
If he were to say he wanted to go take a look at this point, he would probably be sleeping on the ground tonight.
But if I really don't go, I can't let go of those treasures I haven't had enough time to play with.
Zou Fang was finally satisfied. While tying on her apron and preparing dinner, she muttered to herself.
"I think Sister Chen's child is quite good. He is down-to-earth and ambitious. The key is that he knew Qianqian when he was a child. It's best if he knows her well."
“What you think is good, your daughter may not think is good,” Mr. Luo sighed.
Actually, Gu Yunche is not bad at all; in fact, he is better than many people.
The fact that he stood up for me at the antique shop yesterday shows he's at least a decent person.
He bought Qianqian a house before they were even engaged or married, so at least he's not stingy with money.
He had just told Qianqian this morning that he couldn't use those plates and bowls anymore, and he immediately went to buy new ones. That's how obedient he is to his girlfriend.
If it were Sister Chen's son, he might not be able to do this much.
Moreover, with his looks and qualifications, he could easily find a girl prettier than Qianqian, but she only has eyes for Qianqian.
What they want is a stable and respectable job, and a devoted relationship with their daughter. Hasn't Gu Yunche achieved all of that?
