Gu Weiwei realized that she had been married into the Fu family for several years.
But she really didn't understand her two younger brothers as well as he did.
Fu Hanzheng may seem indifferent to his two younger brothers, but he sees through them to the core.
At dinner time, the two men who had gone out for a "one-on-one" match returned.
"Who won between you two?"
"Of course I won," Fu Shiqin said proudly.
"You must have been slacking off at work by playing games," Fu Shiyi said, clearly unconvinced.
Fu Shiqin rolled his eyes at him, "You're bad at it, yet you blame me."
Fu Shengying handed a list of betrothal gifts and dowry to Madam Fu and Gu Weiwei, and said.
"The betrothal gifts and dowry have all been listed. Is there anything else we need to add?"
Fu Shiyi leaned closer to take a look, carefully compared the two gift lists, and then looked at his own father with a suspicious expression.
Why is the dowry larger than the betrothal gifts?
“If we send you to the Ding family, it will cause them a lot of trouble. Shouldn’t we give them more money?” Fu Shengying said.
"..."
Fu Shiyi put down his chopsticks, so angry that he didn't want to eat anymore.
It's still uncertain whether he'll actually be married into the Ding family, but the whole family is hoping he'll marry into their household.
Gu Weiwei was both amused and exasperated. "I think... there's no problem. It's just that we could transfer the villa near the old house that's under my name to Dongdong or the Ding family elders."
“How can we use yours? He’ll pay for his own house when he gets married,” Mrs. Fu said.
"Mom, what I mean is, if Dongdong marries into the family, then the Ding family elders can live there, making it convenient for them to see their daughter and grandson," Gu Weiwei explained.
That villa was near the old house; it was given to her by Madam Fu.
However, she and Fu Hanzheng have always lived in the old house; they have never lived there.
She figured she might as well leave it empty, since Ding Dongdong was about to have a baby soon after marrying into the family.
The Ding family only has one daughter, so having her live closer to them would make it easier for them to see their daughter and grandson.
If they were to live in the old house, they might find it inconvenient. The villa is only about ten minutes away, which is close but not so close that it would be awkward.
“What’s yours is yours, no need to give it to him. Let him figure out a way to handle this himself,” Fu Shengying said.
It doesn't make sense for him to get married and expect his sister-in-law to make plans for him.
Seeing that they disagreed, Gu Weiwei stopped insisting.
"It's fine if they don't move in. If they want to come, they can just move in. It's just sitting empty anyway."
"Don't think that far ahead. What if he's coming to our door?" Fu Shiqin said with a smile.
Fu Shiyi glared at him resentfully, "Whether I'm going to live with you or marry a wife, I'm still getting married, unlike you... hmph."
"Oh my, are you showing off again? I just don't want to delay Ling Jiao's career, that's why I'm not in a hurry to get married. If I wanted to, I could get married in a minute," Fu Shiqin retorted defiantly.
"Then why don't you tie one for me now?" Fu Shiyi challenged.
Madam Fu sighed wearily and said.
"If it weren't for Dongdong's pregnancy, you two would get out of here."
Now they stay at home every other day, either arguing or fighting, and there's never a moment of peace and quiet.
If Ding Dongdong hadn't been pregnant, she wouldn't have made soup for Fu Shiyi to deliver to her every day.
Plus, there's the wedding to discuss, I really don't want to see them both staying in this house.
At least, don't hang around in front of them every day; it's too annoying.
The daughters-in-law are all very sensible, while the sons are all very annoying.
