The following afternoon, the Fu family began preparations early.
Grandma Fu said she wasn't feeling well and wanted to rest at home, so she wouldn't be going.
When she said she wasn't feeling well, both Mrs. Fu and Gu Weiwei tensed up.
"Grandma, should we call the doctor to come to our house?"
"Why call a doctor? I just don't want to go. If I go there at my age and sit there, how are people supposed to talk to me?" Old Mrs. Fu revealed her true intentions.
This was originally a friendly discussion between two families about their children's marriage. As an older generation member, she was the only one being considered polite by those who knew any manners.
"Then just say so. Why did you have to say you weren't feeling well? You scared us half to death," said Madam Fu.
Grandma Fu waved her hand and said.
"I'm fine. When we meet the Ding family, whatever conditions they ask for, we should agree to them as long as we can. Even if they don't ask, you should take the initiative."
"I know, Mom. We won't mistreat the Ding family," Madam Fu said earnestly.
They were already incredibly grateful that Dongdong was willing to marry that bastard Fu Shiyi, so of course they would agree to anything she asked for.
Even if the Ding family doesn't want it, they still can't be lacking in proper etiquette.
Only after confirming that the old lady was not feeling unwell did the family prepare to go out.
Fu Shiyi set off first, driving to the Ding family to pick them up.
Gu Weiwei then drove Fu Shengying, Madam Fu, and their two children to the restaurant that Fu Shiyi had booked.
The restaurant is a private kitchen owned by Fu Shiqin. He booked the entire place today so that the two families could meet without being disturbed by outsiders.
The restaurant is decorated in the elegant and beautiful style of the Jiangnan water towns, and the pond inside the restaurant is filled with koi.
When Youyou and Tiantian arrived, they excitedly leaned over the edge of the pond to watch the fish, so excited that they almost ran into the pond to catch them.
They arrived about ten minutes later when Fu Hanzheng also got off work and rushed over, finally managing to keep an eye on the two mischievous children.
Why didn't Grandma come?
"She said she was afraid of putting too much pressure on the Ding family if she came, so she stayed home to rest," Gu Weiwei said helplessly.
However, the old lady's concerns were not without merit.
The presence of Fu Hanzheng alone is already quite stressful; the arrival of the old lady will undoubtedly put even more pressure on the Ding family.
Fu Hanzheng picked up his youngest daughter and didn't ask any more questions.
Gu Weiwei, however, whispered a word of advice.
"When the Ding family arrives, keep your composure and don't put pressure on them with your aura."
"Don't worry, I won't interrupt," Fu Hanzheng said.
Gu Weiwei rubbed her forehead. "I'm telling you to tone down your aura, not that I don't want you to talk. If you don't talk, people will think you have a problem with them."
Fu Hanzheng frowned unhappily. "Then what do you want me to do?"
"At least greet him, be friendly, and preferably smile. It's your brother's wedding, after all; as his older brother, don't ruin it," Gu Weiwei whispered.
They hadn't originally planned to come, but she was worried that Fu Hanzheng's personality, which didn't like interacting with people, might cause the Ding family to misunderstand something.
However, Fu Shiyi insisted on having them come, so she had to discuss it with him first.
"I'll try my best," Fu Hanzheng replied helplessly.
As the two were talking, Fu Shiyi arrived with Ding Dongdong and the two elders of the Ding family.
Gu Weiwei, holding Youyou's hand, greeted them with a smile.
"Uncle Ding, Aunt Ding, you've arrived."
When Tian Tian saw Fu Shiyi, she waved her little hand cutely in Fu Hanzheng's arms.
"Third Uncle..."
Madam Ding looked at the two adorable and cute children, and a smile bloomed on her face.
"These two children really look like you, they're so good-looking."
"Thanks."
Tian Tian, who always has a sweet tongue, realized that the other person was praising her.
The two elders of the Ding family chuckled and sighed.
"This child is so adorable."
