"You can leave now, he's a person without intelligence."
Fu Shiqin waved to He Chi, signaling him to leave.
Fu Shiyi couldn't bear to see Ding Dongdong in so much pain, so he wanted her to give birth to the baby quickly so she wouldn't have to suffer so much.
But if a C-section is quick, won't the incision hurt after the surgery?
Madam Fu glanced at the time and said.
"You stay at the hospital and watch over her. I'm going home to prepare some food. She'll probably need some more time, and she won't have the energy if she doesn't eat something."
"Thank you for your trouble," Mrs. Ding said gratefully.
Madam Fu instructed Fu Shiqin to contact He Chi if anything happened, and then left the hospital to go home and prepare food for Ding Dongdong.
The family struggled all night, and the contractions continued until dawn, but the cervix was still not dilated enough to allow for delivery.
Madam Fu brought over some food and let Ding Dongdong eat some despite the pain.
Seeing her covered in sweat from the pain, Fu Shiyi finally understood why his brother didn't want his sister-in-law to have any more children.
It's incredibly painful to watch your wife suffer while you can't share even a fraction of her pain.
He couldn't stand it any longer, so he asked Fu Shiyi to call He Chi over again.
He Chi yawned and ran over, entering the room and saying...

I had two surgeries last night, and after I finished, I received news that Fu Shiyi's wife was about to give birth. I had just gone back to bed and had only been lying down for a few hours when I called him back.
He already said he doesn't deliver babies, so what good is calling him?

He Chi listened, called the nurse to ask about the examination results, and then spoke.
"You're not dilated to three centimeters yet, so you can't use an epidural. This is just the beginning. When you're dilated to three centimeters, it will be even more painful than it is now, and that's when you'll need an epidural."
“But she’s been in pain for hours,” Fu Shiyi said with heartache.
“Normally, the pain can last for a whole day and night,” He Chi said.
Fu Shiyi took a towel and wiped Ding Dongdong's sweat, anxiously wondering what could make her feel better.
He was anxious, and so were Fu Shengying and the others.
But when it comes to childbirth, besides being anxious, there's nothing they can do to help.
After He Chi finished speaking, he was about to return to his office when Fu Shengying stopped him.
"He Chi, don't leave. Wait here so we can find you if something happens."
"I can't help much by waiting here; I'm not an obstetrician," He Chi said helplessly.
“Then you wait here too,” Fu Shengying said.
With a doctor here to look after them, they can feel more at ease.
He Chi pursed his lips, found a place to sit down, and muttered something to Fu Shiqin in a low voice.
“What’s the point of me guarding this place? I can’t get the child out.”
The group of people at the hospital were anxiously waiting. Gu Weiwei and Fu Hanzheng only received a call from Fu Shiqin when they got up in the morning.
Upon hearing the news, Gu Weiwei asked in surprise.
"Really? What time did you go to the hospital?"
"I arrived a little after 1 a.m., and she hasn't given birth yet," Fu Shiqin said, letting out a heavy sigh.
"I'll drop Youyou and Tiantian off at kindergarten and then head over," Gu Weiwei said.
Fu Hanzheng was changing the children's clothes when he saw her answering the phone and couldn't help but ask.
Who went to the hospital?
"Dongdong is about to give birth. We went to the hospital last night, but she hasn't given birth yet." Gu Weiwei said, both happy and worried. "I'll go to the kindergarten to check on her after I drop the kids off."
