Chapter 31: A Man's Terrible Possessiveness

Raymond on the other end of the phone paused for a moment, then asked, "Which Li family?"

Is there such a powerful family in the capital that the boss personally ordered an investigation into the Li family?

“The Li family of Longsheng Group,” Fu Hanzheng repeated.

Raymond was somewhat surprised. Given the status of the Fu Group in China, why would it suddenly care about a small company like Longsheng Group?

"I will take care of it immediately and report the results to you tomorrow."

Fu Hanzheng hung up the phone, looked at the girl who was already asleep on the hospital bed, and sighed in frustration, recalling the scene in the garage just now.

What's wrong with me today? How could I lose my composure because of a kiss from a little girl?

He used to find her annoying just to look at her, but after she discovered that the painting was a fake and quietly helped them complete their collaboration with Wilson, he began to wonder what kind of person she really was.

When he saw her again at the apartment yesterday, he was actually... a little surprised.

At three o'clock in the morning, Gu Weiwei started to have a fever, and Fu Hanzheng called He Chi again.

A moment later, He Chi brought over a thermometer and handed it to him, saying...

"Take your temperature first."

Fu Hanzheng: "You are a doctor, so do what a doctor should do."

"Okay, okay, I'll do it."

As He Chi spoke, he walked to the bedside, lifted the blanket, and began to unbutton Gu Weiwei's pajamas, but he was stopped before he even touched the buttons.

"What are you doing?" Fu Hanzheng's eyes were somewhat cold.

He Chi looked completely innocent. "Taking temperatures? How can I put the thermometer in if I don't take off my clothes?"

"Call the nurse."

"The nurse on duty today is male."

As He Chi spoke, he reached out to unbutton his shirt and put the thermometer in, saying, "Don't worry, doctors are compassionate, we don't distinguish between men and women."

Fu Hanzheng approached and took the thermometer from his hand.

"Get out of the way."

He Chi obediently walked away and sat on the sofa to wait, snorting irritably.

"Your brother Fu Shiqin broke his leg and was hospitalized before, and you, as his older brother, didn't even come to see him once. Now that your little girl is just sick and in pain, you personally bring her here and take care of her. You're such a fake brother, have you ever considered your younger brother's feelings?"

Seeing that it was time, Fu Hanzheng took the thermometer and handed it to He Chi, then covered Gu Weiwei with a blanket.

He Chi took a look and said, "She does have a fever. I'll go get some fever reducers and fever patches. You should give her more water to drink; that will help bring the fever down faster."

A short while later, the nurse on duty brought over fever-reducing medicine and fever-reducing patches, saying that He Chi had an emergency and couldn't come over.

Fu Hanzheng unbuttoned his cuffs, rolled up his shirt sleeves, poured a glass of water, sat on the edge of the bed, and helped the sleeping girl sit up and lean against him.

Then, I fed her the fever reducer and a glass of water before putting her down.

For the next few hours, I followed the doctor's instructions and helped her up to give her water every half hour.

As dawn broke, Gu Weiwei wearily opened her eyes and saw a glass of water being fed to her lips.

Because she was so thirsty, she took a sip from the cup, and when she looked up at the person who was feeding her water, she was so flattered that she choked.

Fu Hanzheng put down the cup and patted her back.

Gu Weiwei realized she was practically leaning against him, so she quickly sat up straight.

Whether from choking on water or from embarrassment, her face turned bright red.

When Fu Hanzheng saw that she had woken up, he handed her the half-finished glass of water.

"Drink it."

Gu Weiwei held her water glass, looking disheveled in the wind, and realized that she had drunk water several times while she was half asleep.

Could it be that he fed them all?

Did you hold him in your arms and feed him like you did just now?

It wasn't just about drinking water; it was also about how he carried her out of the bathtub last night in the apartment to change her clothes, and how she lost her temper and forcibly kissed Fu Hanzheng in the hospital parking garage last night, almost knocking him over in the car...

As I thought about it, I felt terrible.
